Hi,
We've written an add-on to an existing program and we're looking for a logo. We're calling it Do It, Bill It. We originally called it Time Tracker. The "blurb" we have on it right now is:
TimeTracker for ACT!/Saleslogix: This unique Project Management tool links ACT/Saleslogix with your accounting package, bridging the gap between project management, tracking billable time, and creating invoices! Assign client or project specific tasks to ACT! users’ calendar, create project notes, track billable time easily, and TimeTracker will easily create invoices in QuickBooks or Peachtree.
This is about consultants having an easy way to link project tasks to clients, track their hours and make invoices quickly. It's all about speed, simplicity and efficiency.
We thought DO IT, BILL IT sums it up. We're thinking of calling it DB Ware. There's a play on words there, of course, because DB also stands for database.
The D and B should be prominent. The "IT" is less important.
With that said, we are not married to the name. If another name seems to strike you as more on target or interesting, we'll include a $50 bonus.
We need to have everything in place by May 7, 2005.
Thanks very much for your input.
Best wishes,
Paul

Hi BIll,
Thanks so much for presenting this.
I like the general idea. The clock idea is good. I like the sense of light heartedness, but perhaps I feel its a bit too comic book like.
I want a sense of slick and with a little more sophistication.
perhaps a font change can help with this.
Also, if we call the product DB Ware for short, we will want that to be visible in the title as well..
So the DB shoud be visible and perhaps "ware" could go under the line... (and Match DB in style, color,)
While the D"O It" and B"ill It" parts could be less visible...
All best,
Joe

Thanks, Jason & ezjey,
Jason -- the initials give it a more pro look, but we miss the clock -- something to give it some visual representation of the program. Also, if we run the name together (DBWare) we need a hypen in it.
ezjey -- This already incorporates my note above. Is there a way to make the clock part of the "D" -- imagine the clock you have with some kind of straight line left side (so as to make it look like a "D"). It may need to be rotated clockwise 15 degrees or so. Not sure what to do with the "B" then, but if you want to give that a try. Maybe clock-D, some kind of complimentary B, ware to the right or below? And somewhere the DO IT-BILL IT block.
Thanks everyone so much!

Hi, Adrian,
Thanks for the submission. And thanks for working in the clock -- that's cool. I think we need something less abstract -- more clearly a D and a B, kinda like some of the ones below yours.
COuld you make it more clear to the firsttime reader who doesn't have any brand name association with the image?
THe multiple layouts was very useful in getting a look at it -- thanks for doing that. Also, a note to all who may read this, blue is "our" color, so to speak.
Many thanks,
Paul

Hi, ezjey,
Thanks for working the DB into the clock. I think we still might need some degree of a left line/wall on the D (shadow?) to more clearly create the D. Also, could you throw in a couple white spots where they would appear on the B. I like the differentiated shadow, which is what the B looks like to me, but it feels a little too overwhelming and I think having the white spots for the bubbles in the B might help ease that.
This is coming along nicely! Thank you!
Paul

Hi, Artemii,
This is clear and right along our desire to work in the clock to the initials. The hands of the clock pointing to the right feels awkward, though. Can you post this with the clock hands pointing to the left (like it was 10:37)?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi, eziey,
These both look great, though #5 is more right on target. Our concern is that the DO IT BILL IT block is too "boxy"; and we feel the D and B in there are not prominent in the way we think they need to be.
Could it work with the DO IT text BLACK on WHITE with a thin block line border around it. AND, could the D and B be the blue that you're working with instead of black?
Many thanks,
Paul

Hi, General,
Thanks for this update, which was responsive to our feedback. Our sense is that it would work on a business card, but not necessarily for a logo in many situations.
Thanks again for your input!

Paul

Hi, everyone,
This has been an amazing process (our first) and everyone has had really great ideas and has been very responsive. We thank you all.
As you know, we're on a tight timeline and we'll be CLOSING THE PROCESS at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight USA tonight (Thu. 5/5).
We'll be considering everything we see up to then.
Many thanks again,
Paul & Joe

Hi Paul & Joe,
Here is a cleaner version. I thought you were talking about that when you said it wouldn't work on many istuations. Let me know if was other idea behind your comments.

Dear eziey,
Yes, I think that lightens up the design and it really looks super. I think ultimately there are two changes we want to keep it thematically consistent. One is with DO IT-BILL IT. We realize now, the D should be blue as it is and the rest of those two words black. For the B, we think it should match the color of the B in the logo (black) and have the other letters in the remaining two words be blue.
The other difference is the B&W version. I think the inner D should be black with a white clock hand, mirroring the color version. Do you know what I mean?
Many thanks for your work on this...
Best wishes,
Paul

Hi, Adrian,
Thanks for posting a cleaner version. I realize now what made it seem like it was limited in its uses was that the other two we've been looking at yesterday and today were both blocks. I think it was this element that made it seem a little more limited in its application.
But thanks for your work! It's good and we appreciate it.
Best wishes,
Paul

Hi, Everyone,
I'm having a terrible time with the site tonight. I had just written a big thank you and selection announcement, and somehow it didn't post.
We wanted to thank everyone very much for your really great work.
We can't find the "Designer Chosen" link, so I'm using this (hopefully) to announce that we have chosen a designer, and that is:
eziey
Thanks again to everyone for your good ideas and speedy responses. We hope to work with more of you in the future.
Best wishes,
Paul & Joe
PS: eziey, I sent you an email (private message) via this site. If you don't get it, please post here and let me know. Thanks!!

Hi, eziey,
I tried sending this msg as a PM on Monday, but I admit that I find navigating this site incredibly frustrating. Thanks for getting back to me; I was waiting for a response to a PM that I guess you didn't get.
I see that you made the initial cap bigger -- thank you, we were looking for that. I think we couldn't see it because of the box. So our very last request is if we could see the different point sizes like you have now (Big D, Big B, other letters smaller) but with no box around it (and no "reverse" letters for the D and B). Could we take a quick look at that? That's all we need to wrap up.
Many thanks!
Best wishes,
Paul

I'm not quite sure about this last request. Can you see Eziey 12 and Eziey 13 image ( on top of your last message)...I think Eziey 13 is what you want to see in this last request. Please advise

Hi, eziey,
You're right -- I did not see this posted. Thanks for sending it in the PM. Like I said the navigation here is very frustrating for me.
So, the last one (13) is the one we want to go with. Can we get it both with and without DB-WARE on the bottom?
And then how do I wrap this project up? Have you been paid yet? Let me know.
Many thanks!
