Hello. We are looking for a logo for a new software product that we currently develop. It is an Internet Security (Encryption) solution for wireless and cable networks, the abbreviated name of the software is "PIG" (Private Internet Gateway). The basic concept of the software is based on the well-known VPN (Virtual Private Networks) idea, but much easier to use. Once the user installed our software, all his Internet traffic is encrypted. Nobody is able to "snoop" at the websites he visits or the email he sends.

We would like the logo to somehow use this meaning either by displaying a pig, wild pig or whatever idea you have. We will be using the logo inside the application, websites, splash-screens, maybe also on stickers and t-shirts.

In addition, the logo (or a design derived from it) should be used as application icon that is displayed on the desktop and windows tray. (Note: The icon design is not part of this project, it will be a follow-up project.)

The logo should appeal to end-users and corporate customers alike. It should be fun and creative and should convey an attitude of "Internet", security, privacy and reliability.

Logos I like include the owl at http://www.winbatch.com - but I am also open to a completely different approach.

Mike

To nvoke: Thanks a lot for your draft. The pig looks cute, but not very trustworthy ;) What I mean is: It looks more like somebody that snoops on my data, than somebody that protects my data from snoops.

To all: Maybe a wild boar is more appropriate than a pig for this logo?

To all: Thanks for all the creative entries!

To Artemii: Can you try with different colors and make the pig more cheerful?

To Unorthodox: I like the fonts used. But for the pig itself, my very first thought was, that this pig ended up as hand bag ;) Maybe you have an idea on how to modify the design?

To Sarah: To me, the pig looks more like a bull. Can you make it more like wild pig? Any maybe more cartoon like?

To Mehmet: I looked at your website. Very nice. A (wild) pig as cute as the cow on your website would be very interesting to see.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback!

Heres a more cartoony version of a boar. :)

To Sarah: Thanks for new version. New boar is better, but not really friendly. I have more something like the owl in at http://www.winbatch.com in mind.

To all: I will be out of the office until 5/25. New deadline is 6/10/2005. New ideas and suggestion are welcome.

Hi,

I uploaded 4 different versions and my favourite is 1b.
I tried to use both the first character idea and the wild boar.

To Mehmet: Your pig is a great cartoon figure. It was the first runner-up logo.

To Aaron: That is a truly unique logo. We have chosen this logo :)

Thanks to everybody for entering this contest!

Thread can be moved to revision forum.
