The name of our company is "Strategic Dreamers LLC". We are in the business of making full length CGI (Shrek style) animated films. We will eventually branch out to Television Productions, Books, Services, Etc.

There is a great opportunity to whomever designs this site for the type of international exposure it will receive.

Our company logo is currently in the design stage and will be finished before the end of this project.

Our by-line or motto is “Experience The Magic”

We would like a Main page with links to the following: "About Us" "What's New" "Investor Relations" (all with there respective pages)

The main page should have a relatively large area left that can be changed frequently with different pieces of animation. It should also have an area left for the logo.

"About Us" page should be the generic contact us, biography, history etc

"What's new" will be a page dedicated to ongoing and future projects

Investor Relations will be a page dedicated to the licensing and marketing of our products.

Deadline:
The confirmed deadline is 5PM PST (-8 GMT) on May 30th 2005. I'll make a decision on the winner by 6PM that same day.

Notes: I would like someone to inject completely fresh ideas in to the website. Please consider the Pixar website for a nice basis (www.pixar.com). I really like the way it is laid out.

It is okay to be technologically sophisticated with the implementation, so long as it works on Mac & PC.

Relatively large fonts.

No frames. Stay clear of the whole "generic" website look & feel.

Competitors are Pixar, Dreamworks, Disney

I have attached the low resolution version of the logo. My designer is raising the resolution in the next couple of days. The animation from the film is in the copyright stage so that probably won't be done for this project. Basically, I want a section on the front page that I can put clips of the animation as the movie progresses. Good luck!

4 pages is correct. As far as coding, again pixar is a good example. There will be no back-side transactions or sales done off the site. Is that what you meant by coding?

I am still just a bit confused on the deliverables for your project... I see above "work on PC and MAC" so I want to clarify...

Delivered in then end you would like FOUR coded HTML pages

OR

Delivered in the end you would like FOUR PSD files (no code).

Also, did you get the chance to round up some images for use in the design (the Sprit Falls you mentioned or others)?

This is a bit tricky. Our Trademarks and Copyrights will not be in place for a bit. Please leave an area on the front page for images from the film that can be updated on a regular basis.

I have a higher resolution version that is in adobe format. Would that help? I also have a conference call with the my ip guys today about getting at least one scene of animation for the front page.

I still think that the effect of the clouds passing by is sufficient. The boat rocking back and forth gets a little distracting. I would leave the boat stationary and leave the effect of the clouds passing by.

Please find attached my entry into your contest. I've kept my design as simple and clean as possible, but integrated enough unique elements to distinguish the website from your competitors. For example, the main navigation with What's New, About Us... - it uses the same sail shape as your logo. Colours are from the logo as well.

The movie images you choose to insert will simply slide in underneath the curve, as it uses layers to achieve this effect. No special cropping is required - only a rectangular image with a set height/width is neccesary.

I've designed the layout with a wider screen resolution in mind, so it lends more breathing room to the page. As most people are using slightly bigger monitors these days, this extra bit of space helps to maximize screen real estate.

Here are 2 ideas for your website home page.

I went for a simple and elegant look that will let your movie snapshots speak. I used a royal blue background to suggest trust and to show that you're real professionals in your filed of work.

The bottom area of the page can be either static or done with flash and have some subtle transitions between the snapshots.

I think that 6 snapshots from a movie should be enough to get the interest of your visitors.
If you want to show more than 6 snapshots:

- we can use a "more button" like I showed in the template

- we can have page numbers below the thumbnails with prev and next

- we can have the right side with the thumbnails to scroll in flash

For the static version the snapshot change will be done with javascript. For the flash version we can make the snapshots to load dynamically in flash using either a txt, xml or database to keep the settings and to make it easy to manage in future.

The page can be coded either html or xhtml.

When you will have a movie trailer ready it can be either embeded in flash or have a link that will open a popup with it or we can show it on the area where the snapshot image is displayed.
