Hello again!
I'm in the process of developing a web site www.RideInRI.com It's a spin-off of RIHunts.com, Y'all worked on a logo for me and that site over a year ago.
Genre: Informational resource for bikers and motorcycling in general
Audience: Bikers and Biker-wanna-bees (more cruiser (Harley Davidson type) than street bike (Rice/crotch rocket) oriented). It's a state specific site for Rhode Island USA
Color scheme: Dark... Chrome, Black, Orange, Purple (open to ideas though)
I'm looking for a logo to brand the site, not sure if I'm looking for a text-based logo or a combo w/ bike graphics.
Format: Final logo should be supplied in a scalable vector format that is compatible with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. (Can be imported). If the image is layered, all layers need to remain separate and not "flattened". Logo will also need to have a transparent background.
Use: This logo will be used primarily on the website.
Deadline: 2 weeks +/- depending on the progress...
Tag Line Not sure if itwill be incorporated, feel free to try and use it the logo call for it.
Favorite: Your Ride Starts Here
Others....
RI's Premiere Biker Resource
RI's Biker Resource
RI's Motorcycle Resource
Thanks & Have Fun!!!

Here's my entry.
What do you think?

Hi Artemii,
Not quite what I'm looking for, looks too "touristy" or tropical w/ the sun and palm tree. Trying to get a bit more hard and edgy, give it a little bite if you can.
I'll see if I can get some logos together to give you some other ideas...
Thanks,
Bren

Artemii,
Thanks again for your submission, try and loose the square and 4 circles from around the headlight area. It's not really what I'm looking for, but I did say I was open to your suggestions.
I'd still like to see some other submissions but there's only one day left and I don't know if that's going to happen. If it wasn't for Artemii there would be ZERO interest in this logo. I thought there would be more of a response.... Deadline's tomorrow and it can NOT be extended, I have deadlines of my own to meet.
Palmer, what's the process if I only get this one submission or submissions that fail to meet what I'm looking for? This logo had a 2 week window and ends tomorrow...

Here is my entry... I'm not sure if you can use it, it is raster (4-color process) instead of vector, but I figured if you were using it mainly for the web you might be able to use it.

Jsanqunetti,
Almost the same as what I have now, the celtic font isn't a fit.
Mark,
You're on the right track. I'd like to have the RI (at the end) be the same point size, but that kinds leaves the .com just hanging there. Try and make the "I" the same point size as the "R" and overlay the .com on the "I" vertically in a white or the yellowish background color. But before you go nuts see if it fits the banner that I'm using.
The wheel also fits ok, please try and incorporate a v-twin motor if you could. Here's a link for some images. http://images.google.com/images?q=v+twin
Thanks you all for your submissions and work, I'd still like to see some input from others.

All,
This wil be going on a black/dark background. I messed up and did not update the blank template for you.
Jsanqunetti,
looks good, try loosing the motor and keep the flames please try another font for the tag line.
Paula,
Please try and use a cruiser/harley type of bike instead of the sport bike
please try another color for the red
Snicker,
Try and go down a size or two on the orange stroke
Capitialze the I in "in"
Try a different font for RidInRI.com
Deadline's tonight I cannot extend this....

Paula,
Sorry it's still not doing anything for me.
Jsanqunetti,
Thanks for your request it's fine as is.
Cre8or,
Not quite what I'm looking for, thanks.
Bill,
Where the heck have ya been, I'm likin it. Can you do something with the ".com" it's kinda hanging there. Do have any other bikes in your bag of tricks? Don't have to incorporate, just let me know, I like the one you used just wonerding if there are others that I may like better.
It's crunch time and I'm over my deadline and I need to get moving, where were some of you a few days ago? I will pick a winner in the morning 7-8 PCT then take it to revision mode.
Thanks all,
Bren

Hi Bill,
Don't like the .com on the bike, it takes away from it. Thanks for trying it for me.
On the verticle one, bump up the font size a bit and make it go from the bottom to the top of the "I"
Please try another variation of the ".com" keep it on the horizontal/baseline of "RideInRI" (not like the original, where it was in the middle (top to bottom).
If you have any other thoughts or ideas please show me!
Other than the .com, it's perfect, you're right on the money!!! I love it as well as the folks I've shown it to.
Thanks for all your efforts and patience!!

Bill,
Looks good, can I see the other variation:
Please try another variation of the ".com" keep it horizontal like "RideInRI". in the original you had the ".com" hanging in the middle, can you drop it to the basline of "RideInRI"? Hope I explained it ok...
Thanks,
Bren

Bill,
Thanks for your patience! After reviewing both logos I've decided on the previous one (the verticle). Can you please adjust the tracking on the ".com" so there's a little space (a pixel or 2) between the characters.
When done just shoot me the final CYMK Vector image (with layers intact (if possible)).
Bill , thanks again for everything it's been great working with you and D/O
Best regards,
Bren
