Hi, (Admin code added by Palmer - J3440124)
I have seen the work that has been done here and I would like to give it a shot! I am an artist with my own studio. I need a logo that represents my work in a classic style that indicates higher quality and craftsmanship. I do mostly classical figurative styles(Art Nouveau and romantic). My work consists of sculptures in marble, alabaster and bronze. I design and fabricate stained glass windows (not suncatchers! :) ). I also do portraits in oils, acrylics and graphite of people, pets and homes.
I want an easy to read eye catching logo that will go on everything from my business cards and website to tshirts and banners.
Name of my business is: Art Matters Studio
I will run the contest for one week....ending 6/20/03.
Thanks!
Michael Black
Thanks!

I received 2 payments one for $55 and one for $65. Is the prize $120?

Ooops! Sorry!
The price for Art Matters is $50
The price for Pet Nanny is $65
I just did them both at the same time. One is for me (Mike) the other one is for my fiance (Norah-Pet Nanny)
Sorry for the confusion!

Not so much Art Nouveau, just something that popped in my head. I will continue to work on something more in that time period, more classic. Thanks.

Hi Jimberra,
I like the look, but its more" contemporary" than what I am looking for. I am looking forward to seeing more from you.
Thanks!

Here's a start...I'm using the dragonfly because of its use in Tiffany's designs.

Hi Julie,
I like the font, could you add Studio to it as well? Im not crazy about the color scheme, could you try a dark red with a more detailed, realistic dragonfly?
Its a good start......thanks!

Hi Julie,
I like the color choice, but Im not crazy about the dragonfly. Could you make it look more like stained glass? I like the font.
Thanks!

Hi Jmberra
I really like your second one. I would like to see other color combos, and I like the font that Julie is using. Could you also try using a more raised font to see what that would look like?
Thanks!

Hi Mike, I am not sure as to what font that is, but I will do my best to match it. :D

OK--here are a few variations. I've worked with stained glass, myself, so I cut down the number of lines used in the wings but maintained a high number of pieces--which conveys quality. Instead of making the pieces different colors, I gave them a filmy, white covering.
What do you think ?

Here are some color and font variations...do you have a specific color arrangement in mind? Thanks for the feedback!
JulieT---thanks for the font name!! That is very helpful! :D

Hi,
Julie-As for the dragonfly, use Art Nouveau as a reference. I like the design though. It needs more detail. Try framing the color block. Also try doing just the wings on the dragonfly in stained glass, and the body more sleek, rather than bubbled.
Jmberra-I like the top one the best. I think the word Studio needs to be in a dark color or outlined. I would like to see the column done in a more realistic form, such as marbalized.......or add marble to the design.
We are getting there, thanks for the ideas so far!

Hi Mike,
Just an idea I whipped up a la Art Nouveau.
Inspired by A. Mucha, but completely original.
It's total Vector, so resizing and colour changes are no problem.
Your feedback is appreciated.

Hi Kimber,
I really like your design. It's more what I was looking for, but you need to add more saturation to the color scheme. The name Art Matters Studio needs to be a font thats more flowy like her hair and dress.
I am really impressed with the A.Mucha reference he is one of my favorite artists/designers.
Looking forward to seeing more designs...I was very impressed with your first one!
Thanks,
Mike

Very nice, Kimber! I could never just "whip" something up like that...it would take forever :)

Here's a few different colour-schemes, and 2 font choices.
Please advise.

Hi Kimber,
Thanks for the color variations. I really like 1.3. I think the font size needs to be a bit larger.
Awesome job, thanks a lot!

Hi Kimber,
I like 1.3C. I like the vertical layout and the font choice. Can you tell me what total vector means? Will I be able to use this for business cards, brochures, logos on shirts, etc?
Thanks, it looks great!

Total vector, means that the artwork is resolution-independent, and fully scaleable. It's easily colour separated either for pres-printing, or into colour blocks for screenprinting. Vector, is a term used to describe digital artwork that is created using mathematical positioning, as opposed to raster: which are set pixels arranged in a set-grid pattern.
Vector art is extremely versatile, and suitable for all your applications.

Thanks!
Are you able to put the logo that I chose into different things such as a biz card, letterhead, polo shirt etc....? I've seen a few artists do that on here, and I would be interested in seeing what it would actually look like before I decide.
Thanks!

Hi,
I would like to thank everyone for their creative ideas. I have liked each one in different ways, but the one I like the most and feel is more like me is Kimber's last submittal. (the one on the tshirt). So, I am chosing that design as my new logo! This was a lot of fun, I appreciate everyone's effort. I will be telling everyone where I got my logo!
Thanks so much.
Kimber, what do we do next?
