I need a quick turn around so please help me, :help:
I originally posted a logo competition and awarded the prize to cre8or for a logo design that is simply brilliant, everyone that has seen it approves.
My problem now is trying to fit it in with a web site.
For the fast approach I purchased a template from Template outpost and with the help of a friend we managed to not get anywhere fast. The problem is the kind of sites I like don't always match the logo so we therefore never come through with the right design.
What I like is two types of site;
1. Photographs of people in a business environment focusing on technology
or more likely with the Logo,
2. Clean bright sites, not multi-coloured or should I say too many colours. Thin border lines. Soft graphics are good but saying technology. An example of such a site would be globusmedia.com
Anyway I need something fast so it has to be simple.
What ever the site, it needs some movement gif or basic flash although it must be very fast to load.
Just to make it more interesting I have a few brands
Elephant Services Group
Elephant SMS
Elephant Mobile
Elephant Web Factory
So it will need to follow across all brands as there will be a page on each;
I enclose the Logo which I don’t want the basic design to change, you can be creative with words layout to make them fit and display the brands.
Finally the strap line is “Never Forget”, hopefully to stick in peoples minds when they need to place an order.
Best of luck, I will be staying close.

You have a deadline in mind, Steve?
Hi Steve,
Could you give us some more information in regards to navigation?
The different brands you have: Will they require different navigation elements?
Thanks

My deadline is not realistic so the answer is ASAP or like yesterday. The money's waiting.
As for the navigation, I don't want the overall look to be taken as a guideline but..
visit eletricpage.co.uk/www_elephant/default.html and you'll see the basic navigation.
"I needed that yesterday." - the classic business response.
Alrighty Steve, I'll try to have something up before noon and we'll see if we can't get you running. :)
*Catches breath*
Here is your template. Let me know what I need to modify to suit your needs. :)

Hi Steve,
After asking the question about the navigation I went back to the logo competition and the template below uses the navigation elements found on that site. If you like this design then I can rework the other navigational elements in. :)
My idea was to have the header in each 'brand' the colour of the logo and a new picture top right.

Sorry, as someone kindly pointed out it should have been electricpage.co.uk,
Feedback.....
Lang, like it - Not so sure on the top graphic although it could fit with the business type, it's more about communications and PC to mobile messaging if you have other graphics. The banner is quite large, how would it look on sub pages. My wife thinks the arrow is abit big also.
Like what you've done with shadow on the logo. Don't be tied to the orange if there is a better colour to fit.
Demex, like it, not as much as Lang at the moment. Brilliant panels on the right capturing the message, I think it's the Orange - again don't be tied to it if there is a better colour. I do like pastel colors or grey for the back ground.
Thanks
Thanks for the quick feedback, Steve.
I'll work on your changes and have something up soon. I didn't even see your little mention of the navigation layout there, so I'll check that out as well. :)

Heres my attemp :)
Okay, here are the modifications. I reduced the header size and increased the content area, and changed the main graphic to better suit your business. Also made the navigation relevant to your site and worked in a couple of colors for more dash.

Wow, there's good and bad things about using this forum, good: you get great designs, bad: you have to give feedback and it's not always easy. Trouble is it's sometimes hard to convey what you're thinking.
Anyway here goes..
Lang
I like it, the split phone keypad is a bit confusing as it throws the eye off. The Home panel (top right) is a little plan, maybe too many colours now. I think in my original post I said not too many.
Demex
I did really like the way you handled the news panel.
aplus
Like the top but the right hand content resembles the original link, I didn't think the company links sizing wise worked. I like the mobile Icons for the mobile page link but they are too much for the front page.
All
Would there be room for any gif or flash menu?
"What ever the site, it needs some movement gif or basic flash although it must be very fast to load."
Look forward to replies..
My entry into this competition includes the main html layout design and 4 different coloured headers as seen below, CSS files to control the font and links. Original logos would need to be supplied so that I can recreate them for the template. Images below are sharper in their original format.

Zoe,
I'm not sure about the orange still although I know this was my colour it lacks quality.
on the first orange main template
Could you change the first template & logo to be red. Also I prefer the womans picture on the electricpage link as she seems some how less in your face. Do you have a different woman or could you use the original?
I really like the shadow effect to lift the logo as it looks quite plain without, which files would you need?
Can you remove the ring of words around the logo and just have the caption "never forget". The flash or gif can enforce the company name in each slide.
I think on sub pages the left hand panel would go.
Looking good though.

Hi,
aplus
Not sure what's not right, I like the header but can't put my finger on what doesn't catch me with the body.
Zoe
Really close to it now just a couple of things. The Logo that Lang did with a shadowed outline was really what I think works with the logo. Keep Elephant mobile log yellow. On my screen the red looks dull, could you make it a brighter red?
Much better picture.

Before you get started, I should perhaps mention that you need to be part of the Design Team before you can post an entry. You can find the designer application form right here (http://www.designoutpost.com/apply.htm). :)
Hi Steve,
Here is the revision, adjusted according to your feedback.

Brian, as Lang said earlier, you need to be part of the design team to enter. :) Read here. (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=36&s=)

i registered...
does that mean something ?
Brian
Sorry, but it doesnt. :(
You have to apply to the design team, your work will be checked over by Palmer (big boss man) and then your application to post designs will be either accepted or declined depending on the standard of your portfolio/previous works. :)

Sorry Brian, have to go with the flow..
lang, I like that much more - How would I handle sub pages and brands.
Zoe, Gues the time difference (opposite sides of the planet) means you won't be able to update just now.
Steve P
Hi Steve,
Yes sorry but I was aleeping whilst all this was happening.
I will be able to make those types of changes with the logo if I had the logo in it's original format. Did Kimber give you a logo with a transparent background?

I believe so, what files do you require, where can I mail them to?

Hi Steve,
Thank you for having the logo sent through. I have updated the red layout design using the logo. Hopefully this is what you are after. :)

Hi Zoe
Can you make it redder, it looks like a wine colour to me.
The "elephant services" should probably be removed as it is missing "group". Unless there's another way to fit the whole title in it will have to be part of the header? What do you think?
Nearly there ;)
Steve P
Hi Steve,
I have updated the red layout design with a redder version. :)

Can you send me a link to get the templates.

Congratulations, Zoe! Great work.
Thanks Steve,
I enjoyed designing these templates.
I will need to make a few changes to make them all the same. I will contact you via PM to discuss the details. :)
