Snake logo redesign

A small contest here, ending the 19th as it this one should be an easy one.
Winning payout is $40.

We are replicating Ford Motorsports Cobra R Wheel. The attatched picture is the original 2.25" centercap.

The final design will need to have the same 2.25" diameter.

What we want changed:
We cannot have the R on the centercap as this would be a copyright issue. We would like to retain the Cobra in the center. The Cobra Can be the same as the one in the example or a version similar to it. It needs to be the silver/metalic silver as seen on the example and the background needs to be black.

Hi Jeffo,
Here's my design.
Very similar to the one you posted, but its hard to make out the detail.
This design is rater-art, so it's resolution-dependant, but on the plus side... Its actual print size (of the snake only) is 5" x 8" @ 300dpi, so if it's to be printed that should have you covered for most things.
It can be reduced to your required size of 2.25" -- no problem. (I always say: "Go big or stay home".)

The reason I did it this way is that it's easier to "fake" metallic-silver that way.

Looks great. Can you remove the sparkle/star effect from its tail and neck? Also, can you turn his head just slightly more facing forward?

Sure, that's no problem... It'll just take a little time. (It's not quite as easily manipulated as Vector art.)
While I'm at it, is there anything else? It would be better for me if any changes are made all at once.

And that sample would be cool, too.

I figure if you turn the head a little more face forward (not totally face forward) it would still have the V shape, but not as much (which is what I want). Also on the original, not sure if it would look better if we could see the scales on the tail at the bottom.

Didn't want you to think I forgot about this.
Here's a sample of the new artwork (unfinished of course) with the snake's head turned and all the scales.
I'll be able to finish it either tonight or tomorrow evening.

cre8or that looks good, we will go with that one.

Can you email me that one in high res if you have it and another one to the diameter I had stated (also the drawing with no color). If you could bring up the chrome look a little I would appreciate it, but I believe they will be able to replicate it with no problem in china for our wheels.
