Simple logo needed for in-house software. (will not be sold or marketed outside the company)

The software is called GenProc II, also known as GP2, and will be used to conduct physical inventories.

Inventories usually include portable data terminals, barcodes and laser scanners.

Logo will be used for product branding, and will need appropriate hi-res version for printing.

hi.. here is my concept..

i put the full name GenProcII in the logo "GP2"
and the II of GenProcII is colored differently.. represents the barcode bar.. as far as i know " II " is to tell that begins scanning the code and ends the scanning.. also to separate digits/numbers group (left and right)
the "II" can still be seen whether you see the colored bar or the white space before it..

i don't know if this logo suitable for to your need..

Good start everyone!

While discussing this with our client, they came up with an idea I thought was interesting.

Can we incorporate a rocket ship "speeding" across a barcode with a laser beam (exhaust) where it looks like the laser beam is scanning the barcode?

OK, getting there. I think the GP2 is a bit overwhelming. Here is a sample of what the client whipped out. Obviously, does not need to be a duplicate, but I hope it gives you a better idea of what the client is thinking.

Like the rocketship, but the design is just a copy of what the client came up with.

Looking for something that denotes hi tech speed and accuracy.

Isn't anyone else interested in this project? 6 days left.
