Greetings!

I need an excellent logo design that has high exposure appeal- for a new Ministry being launched soon. The logo will be used with websites, on stationary, and ultimately on all material associated with the ministry. I'm really hoping for some creative input from all the talented designers I have seen out there :).

The name of the Ministry is..."Christian Youth Alliance". I'm certainly open to using the acronym (C.Y.A.) as part of the logo design, and can also include the name if that works. I'm not very creative, so I'll leave it to the experts. I've had some thoughts that the "Y" in the center might be interesting with a youth standing with their arms lifted to form a "y".

Here's a brief explanation, so you'll be able to understand what the Ministry is all about.

The ministry will be devoted to kids/teens, and will focus on building positive character and self esteem. As mentioned, the logo MUST have broad appeal. The Ministry focus will be helping youth recognize their individual uniqueness and God-given gifts, and how those gifts make a beautiful creation. Too many youth battle with self-esteem issues, and do not recognize their own unique value.

"Kids in Crowns" is one of the programs that will be offered, representing the valuable gifts that God has adorned each individual, and also, the fact that believers are royalty- "joint heirs with Jesus Christ."

The "CYA" Ministry will serve with the purpose of building a Healthy Spirit, Soul, body and Mind- in Christ, by incorporating various community programs, activities, and events. Programs may include sports, day camps, Leadership training, community gatherings, volunteerism, etc.

The logo will need to have mass appeal, and easy to immediately recognize. There will be sports programs, day camps, teen Leadership, etc., so logo should be gender neutral and able to especially fit nicely on t-shirts.

At this point, firm colors have not been decided. Remember, the logo will go on various color t-shirts, so the logo colors cannot dominate the logo to the point that it will clash with other colors.

The Ministry will be open to all people (regardless of whether they are affiliated with a church or not) and will not be bound by any particular denominational structure.

This Ministry is being launched in local communities, with the ultimate vision of being a nationwide ministry outreach.

At this point, we cannot afford to spend much on designs, etc.. My apologies

God Bless

Julie

I'm not sure if I missed it or not, but are you aiming this at only teens, or are younger children included as well?

Thanks for the message....

Actually Julie.... this will be aimed at youth/kids of all ages. We already have working programs for younger kids, as well as teens.

The concern, obviously, is not to make something that is too young looking - so older teens are "turned away" by the juvenile look.

Hope this helps. Thanks again for your response.

Hi!
NHR and Aaron - Wow - these both look great! Glad to have your creativity helping out! Thank you both for these entries! Very creative and easily recongnizable - unique to any other logos - Looking good! They are both on the right track, although I'm still open to other designs if you get so inpsired - so don't be held back by me!

What I like:

1. I like the Y (person) standing out/up like it is in the center with arms up - nice to see it POP out!
2. I like the A and C looking stylized and standing out as two different letters looks good too.
3. The white outlines help the figures stand out.

Suggestions if I may:
1. Other than keeping the Y person a focal point - making the C and A appear clearly different from each other but maybe in the background or understated?...make sense?
2. Color suggestion would be gold and royal purple - BUT that's just a suggestion because we really want this logo to go on a variety of colored shirts and stationary etc....so you can suggest what you think will work best with your expertise!

Thanks again for the interest and insight. Hope I've been able to help you see the direction of the ministry and thus you can take the talents you have and create just the right thing!!
Blessings!

Here's a more streamlined version, with the "c" and "a" as separate elements. :)

Hi Aaron!
I think you are kind of catching the idea of what CYA is....but please let me elaborate just so you can really have a vision for this and likely produce something that will exactly fit.

The CYA ministry (yes - we are sometimes calling it SEE-YA verbally) is for the underprivileged and outcast (of course not excluding any others who want to be involved). It focuses on bringing kids with 'issues' out of the muck and mire of their surroundings, home-life or just own downtrodden thought patters. So the uplifted hands symbolize the freedom from bondage, victory of winning or playing/learning a sport, and praise. It also will encompass their whole families in other areas - but the kids are our focus and we see they need the help first.

SO...with that said it is much like a YMCA when it followed the original mission statement but branches out to more people without membership requirements (and other sub-ministries within it).

I REALLY like the second one you did with the 'person' a different color form the C and A. This helps the focal point pop out a lot!

A couple suggestions that I am sure I cannot make SOUND as good as you can make the LOOK - but I'll try to be as descriptive as possible:

Could we straighten out the C and A again and just drop them a bit below the 'hands' of the 'person'? So they are level and the bottom of each letter is separate again but they are a tad lower? Make sense?

Is there any way to maybe bulk it up a bit? Not sure how else to put that - the flow is great - just thought that a bit bulkier might have more appeal to some teens as well.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or I wasn't clear. Your work is fantastic - feels like we are getting pretty close!!! Thank you so much!

Blessings.

Changing the color changes the focus to the person, rather than the text. I also straightened the arms in an effort to give the figure a more proactive look in reaching up.

Thanks,

Aaron
