Hello everyone,
I have been lurking around for sometime, watching and enjoying all the creativity. I look forward to working with you to come up with my new logo! With that said, let me get on to the details.
I'm offering $150. Deadline is August 30th or sooner if someone really hits it dead on!
I've been in the handmade bath and body product business for three years. In the last year and a half or so, I also ventured into supplying small businesses and crafters. I am looking for a logo that will cover both aspects of my business. My business name is Dragon Lily Essentials and the tag line is Releasing your inner beauty. The name and tag line does not need to be on the graphic.
I know what I would like to see, but I am still open to new ideas. So if you can create something that catches my eye, that isn't in my original "vision" please feel free to show it.
What I see in my mind for this logo could be a couple of things.
1) A dragon that is relaxing in a tub of bubbles. The tub would be similar to that of an old claw foot tub. The look of relaxation and content, just like getting into a nice hot tub after a long day at work. (this is also the one I lean towards)
2) A dragon standing with a towel wrapped around her like she just got out of her bath.
Now again, if something strikes you that doesn't fit into these, I am open to new ideas. These are just what I have had stuck in my head since we chose our new name. I want something fun, but not cute, if that makes any sense at all.
My favorite colors are blues and greens. I don't really care for anything flowery (hence the main focus is on dragon and not lily lol). I also like fonts like Rene Louis.
We plan to use this logo on our website, promotional materials, packaging, labels, possibly vehicles, pretty much anywhere you might see a company logo.
I think I covered everything, but if I left something out, just holler and I will answer.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Paula, very nice start! Could I see a slightly different face on the dragon. Something a bit, ummm, friendlier. Something about it seems like it is scowling.
Pracus, also a nice start! Could you make the bubbles a bit more defined, please? They just kind of fade off into the background and it makes them a bit hard to see. On the tub, while I like it, could I see it as more of a solid color? I think the seperations like that may be a bit hard to print on labels. I should say as well, that I do like the pink that you chose for this one.
Again nice start! Thank you both for participating!

Thanks pracus.
Could you make the tub bigger? Maybe about half an inch or so, so that it will extend out underneath the text? Also could you make the dragon the same color as the tail? I like the green ridges around the tub better than the solid color.
It just hit me...were the ridges around the tub in the first graphic the tail wrapping around the tub?

yes, the ridges were supposed to be the tail.. :)

Paula, much better face! Thanks! I don't like version 3. Not fond of the boxed in look. Could you make the following adjustments to version 2, please?
Could you bring version 2 forward like it is in version 3? That way it looks closer and you can see a bit more eye detail. Please add longer (or more) lashes to get a slightly more feminine look around the eye. Please take the loop out of the tail. I would like it to be hanging from the tub with a sort of curl at the tail. Almost like what you have now, but without the loop. Could I also see what it would look like it she had wing tops visible behind her? Kind of like she is resting on them. I'm not sure it would fit in though.
Tub changes. Please add some length to the tub to make it less cauldron looking. Please change the color, the blue just isn't doing the graphic justice. Maybe purple? Please feel free to experiment with other colors as well. When you add the length to the tub, the body should be stretched out with it, leaving room for some more bubbles to be added.
Please remove the explanation point after "releasing your inner beauty" Also please remove the capitalization so that it reads "Releasing your inner beauty"
Pracus Working off version 3.
Please make the tub a bit longer again, maybe to the far side of the 'o' in Dragon. The head of the dragon just seems to big for a small tub. Please take the top part of the tail and replace it with a large tub edge. Then adjust the tail so that maybe it only wraps once.
Please make the tag line slightly larger.
That's it for now! Thanks!

Paula I just quickly wanted to say excellent! At first glance it looks great. I'll be back later when I can spend more time looking.
Pracus I look forward to seeing your changes.
Everyone
Does anyone else plan on entering this competition? If so, please at least let me know.

Here's how I see it...

Aaron Nice start. Please change the font. I prefer a block type print over script. Can I see some other colors as well, please? Try out some color combos that you think would look good.
RelevantStudio Even though it's not even close to what I was thinking, I like it. I'd like to see it in some other colors please. It doesn't necessarily have to be blue or green. Have fun trying out some combos that you think look good together.

Sorry, I am running a bit behind!
Aaron Thanks for making the changes. I like the font in version 3 much better than the first.
Everyone I am going to to wait until tomorrow to see the rest of the changes requested. If they aren't here, I'll give my choice by late after noon/early evening. Then if more changes need to be made, we'll work on it then.
Thanks to everyone who submitted! You have made this an extremely tough choice!

Boy, ya'll have made this decision super hard! But after tons of opinions and several talks with my husband (my not-so-silent partner lol) we finally agreed on it.
We have chosen to use Paula's bathing dragon! Congrats Paula and thank you.
Thank you to everyone who participated! We really appreciate your efforts.

Paula, I'm not sure how to procede with the rest of the design stuff. Do we just keep posting here?
I'd like you not to make any more changes. I'd also like to get the artwork in a layered file (a psd file if possible, please). Resolution equal to 300 dpi and sized to be 600 x 400. I am trying to think ahead for print jobs. I'd appreciate it if you would let me know if the size/resolution would work or not. Thanks!

ready to download!
Thanks Again,Paula
