This is my first post so if I do anything wrong let me know.

Logo is needed for a client of mine. She is a lawyer and has an interesting request for a logo image. See below for the challenge.

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Sharon M. Donahue, P.A.

What type of product or service do you offer?
Law Firm

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
A fun new look that will compliment a beach colored site (hint of pastels)

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Illustrative logo most likely but anything goes. The client wants the lawyers scales of justice with a teacup chiwawa on the top scale and a yellow lab on the bottom one

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Pastels or other beach colors. The law office is located near the beach so she wants a complimentary site.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Clean but not stuffy.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Professional but different.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website and possibly letter head, business cards, etc.

Here are some of the services she performs:
-Special Education Law
-Bankruptcy and Dept Solutions
-Wills and Trusts
-Elder Care
-Broadcast Law
-Immigration

Education law is her biggest area so that could play into the logo design.

No preconceived ideas other than what is described above. Let me know if you need more info about the logo or the description of the website (not completed) this logo will be going into. Font information will most likely be requested from designer.
Thanks,

Jeremy

Here are some examples of "Scales of Justice" to possibly help stir up some ideas:

Ruairi,

Great first post. The illustration is very well done, but something is not clicking with me at the moment. Suggestions would be to have the larger dog laying down and try a different style for the main part of the scale. The actual scales look ok, but the bottom looks to blocky for some reason. Looking forward to any revisions and others possibly joining. Thanks,

Jeremy

Jeremy,
thanks for your comments. Here are two variations. No 2

Ruairi,

Dog sitting looks really nice. I think it balances out things a little and having the chiwawa up a tad more puts more emphasis there. Sharon owns a tea cup chiwawa so she will be thrilled.

I prefer the No. 2 over 3. The 3d is nice in 3, but mixed with the 2d elements doesn;t look as good in my opinion.

Let me talk to my client and she what she thinks and I'll get back to you with any more suggestions and changes. Thanks,

Jeremy

Ruairi,

She loves your design and would like to go with #1. So if you could use number one and add the slightly curved base like #2 then I think we are finished. Thank you so much,

Jeremy

Jeremy,

I've made the modifications and sent you a private message with a link to your final files. I've also included my email address if you need anything else.

Thank you.
