Hello there!

I am looking for a logo for a new coffee shop in Florida. The name is Wired Coffee, using the double meaning of wired on caffeine and wired electronically. We are going to be tech savvy with wi-fi capabilities, an ipod station, plasma tvs, electronic menu, etc.

Our goal is to be a third gathering place with lots of seating availability as well as a drive-thru for commuters. Our target audience is pretty broad, but mostly 14-40 year olds. We will have cafe tables/chairs, comfy couches, and bar stools.

The menu will consist of espresso-based drinks (hot and cold), teas (hot and cold), brewed coffee, frozen smoothie-like drinks, Italian soda and granita. We will also serve paninis, pastries and ice cream.

We have not yet purchased space, but are hoping to have 1500 sq ft to fit a small stage. We will be trying to balance a warm and welcoming feeling with the industrial electronic look. We will be using warm colors for decorating.

The logo will be on either our java jackets or the cups themselves. It will also be used on our coffee packaging and potentially our signage.

The deadline for this is September 30. Thanks in advance for your help!

Suzanne

Dear Artemii-
You're off to a really good start. The warm colors are nice. The cup is a little bit too clipart-ish; try a more abstract look. And maybe try some different fonts.

svanderweide

Hello Moz!

I don't care for the font, the words are too overwhelming. Try to tone it down. I do like the rim of the coffee cup though.

Hi QuirkDesign!

Thanks for replying. I think it's too much like clip art and I don't like the colors. It's better in black, but maybe you could try some different colors. Stay away from the lightning bolt, I want more of a computer/tech focus.

svanderweide

Dear Pracus,

I like a lot of what's going in this one. Could you somehow make it more clear that there is a plug-in, I missed it at first but love the concept. Could you also play with the color combination? I like the colors individually, but not all together. The plug-in stands out more in the black and white version, I don't want those colors but maybe you can play with it.

svanderweide

Hi Trysen!

Really good concept. I love the @ sign; could you try it using a "w"? Just a thought. I do like the idea of the coffee cup, but don't like that particular one. It looks a little short and round or something. The steam is good though. I don't about the colors; the contrast is nice, any way to add more of the lighter color?

Hi Pracus,

Big improvement in the colors and the plug-in sticks out much better. Would you mind trying something without the box around the coffee cup? I just want to see what it looks like. I like the cup, saucer, and steam quite a bit.

svanderweide
09-11-2005, 08:19 PM
Dear Graphixparanoid,

I like the concept a lot. The design in the foam is nice, though it took me a minute to figure out what was going on. The colors are good, especially the darker one. Though I really like the abstact look, could you tone it down a little, maybe a different tilt to the cup, or a more obvious-looking coffee/coffee cup. You're on the right track.

svanderweide
09-11-2005, 08:23 PM
Dear Fabian,

Were you purposefully making it say "Wired Up"? I guess I don't understand what the small line in the middle is. I do like the orange you chose, but try something different, I am not really into this one.

It is a coffee cup/computer mouse, the line in the middle is the mouse wheel.I'll see what else i can do.

Thanks

Dear Relevant Studio,

Great first try. There is a lot I like about this one. The plug-in is great, I like the "Get Coffee, Get Connected" tagline. The font is good on the Wired Coffee. The "W" is too fancy though, it kind makes me think of a spa. Also, though I'm a fan of gray, I think I'd like more color. Nice start!

Hi Bogglins!
I kind of like the striking colors, I don't know if I could commit to pink, but maybe. It's a little busy for me. The coffee cup is too clipart-ish. The font is nice on the bottom line, though the words would have to be changed.

Hi Just G,

The simplicity of this one is great. Would you mind trying a few different color schemes? I like the darker one, but I'm not convinced of the lighter one. Also, you'll have to add an "e" to Coffe. Great start!

I understand this is a fairly rapid departure from the norm and previous entries (but worth a shot nonetheless). It would work for the targeted audience and as you see in the example, easily brandable across product lines.

let me know your thoughts.

Hi Paul,

There is something to be said for simplicity. Thanks for departing from the norm, it's nice to see what else is available. I really like red, so it jumps out at me nicely. Just for fun, would you show me a few other colors please? Thanks. If I find some more possible changes, I'll write again. Great job.

Hi Bogglins!

Thanks for trying another concept. I think it may be too cute and so it doesn't fit the techy or modern feel we're going for. Maybe go for something a bit more abstract. I probably tend to stray from circles.

Hi Bill!

I like this one. The placement of the coffee cup is good. Would you get rid of the stir stick and the drips of coffee for me please? Maybe try a less gothic-looking font. Could I see a couple different styles of coffee cup, just in case I like them better. The colors are nice.
Thanks, really good design!

Dear Ratbaggy,

Thanks for your designs. Though the colors are pretty in the first one, it looks too much like it could be an electronics shop logo. It's a bit too techy.

I do like the second one. The color is nice and I like the @ symbol. Could you kind of round out the edges, it's a little too square. The simplicity is nice.

Thank you!

Hi Pracus,

Thanks for the design, I really like it. Though the font works really well for the letter "w", it's not my favorite font for the rest of the words. Would you mind trying a different one, just to see? Great job though, it's nice and simple.

Dear Ratbaggy,

I like this one (#41) a lot, but would like to tweak it a little. Is it possible to make it less linear with hopes of making it very clear that it's an @ sign. Also, though I love red, we'll have to decorate with warmer colors, can you stay in the red family, but maybe change it to a warmer color closer to deep burgundy or something. Thank you!
Suzanne

Dear Graphixparanoid,

Number 47 is interesting and I think has potential. I like the plug as coffee cup option. Could you change the color scheme, black is too dark. Also, could you take the outline around the letters out? Maybe that requires a change in font too...? It would be nice to have a logo that can stand alone without the words if necessary. Something like your plug/cup could do that if done right. Anyway, thanks for the additional work.

Dear Pracus,

I like this design (#61) but am scared that it doesn't stand out or catch one's eye enough. Any way to change that? I don't know if it required color change or something else but if you have time, I'd love to see some variations.

Thank you!

Hi Ratbaggy,

Thanks for the rounded version and the colors. I'm really interested in this one. Could you find a color in the red family that matches the other colors you sent? Maybe it has to be more of a brick red or burgundy? Also, could you cut off the circle just a little bit earlier, so it's not so close to the "d"? Maybe that will help people understand right away that it is an "@" sign? I appreciate it, thank you!

I am also interested in #29 and #30. Same thing with the color, could you try a warmer red for me? It'd be interesting to see it with one of the other colors too if that's okay. Thanks again!

Hi there!

I don't think we need any changes made really. We're going with the lower case letters. We'd love to have lots of color options, reds, oranges, blues, browns, black and white, etc. For a different logo from the past, our designer sent us the design in photo shop also so that we could play with the color, is that a possibility? Whenever you're ready you can email me the logo in as many electronic forms as you can.

I think you have my email??
