Hello,
The flash animation would be for a website we are developing in conjunction with an advertising campaign that promotes the URL www.rustsucks.com. We recently purchased a web site template: www.galvanizeit.org/ref/original/ that we could use as a base to create the site. We have since modified and removed the flash elements on the template to look like this: www.galvanizeit.org/ref/rustsucks/ so that we could communicate our advertising campaign to our supporters. However, we would like to re-implement the flash elements because we feel our adaptation is too bland. We also implemented the java rollovers at the top because none of us can code flash, but like the "original" flash rollovers better and would like to revert back if possible.
The flash project would do the following:
- use the flash navigation found in the ".../original/" template edited with the text found on the rework ".../rustsucks/".
- edit/create the flash to include a series of rotating pictures and quotes to convey a message in a similar layout as to what the image shows on the "rustsucks" page. I had envisioned this as being a series of rotating pictures and quotes that would drive home our message.
- begin with the quote and image that is currently posted on www.galvanizeit.org/ref/rustsucks (the original artwork is attached as "header_rustsucks_bolt.psd")
- rotate/transition this new quote "The American Society of Civil Engineers recently graded the nation's infrastructure a "D"" in place of the old quote while rotating in a new picture on the right (use the infrastructure.jpg picture)
- create a collage of rusty pictures from the files in the "rusty collage" folder. Use this as the background picture for the next transition while rotating in this quote: "Is repairing rusty steel sucking money from your budget?"
-create a collage of galvanized pictures from the files in "galvanized collage". Use this as the background for the next transition while rotating in the phrase: "The Solution?" fade out/fade in of this quote "GALVANIZE IT!"
-have the flash animation run once and stop on the first image and quote.
As stated before, we would also like to use the flash navigation element from the original template (www.galvanizeit.org/ref/original) instead of the java rollovers we created. i have been told by another programmer that the fla file they included in the template is not organized very efficiently and it might by difficult to edit. So this is not a major concern and this piece would be optional for the project. The main focus would be an eye-chatching flash banner beneath the header and top-level navigation.
I've included all the files you should need in an attached zip file. It includes the fla file that can be used as a base if you think you can tackle the navigation portion. Otherwise a design built from scratch that fits the dimensions of the banner (766w x 187h) would be sufficient.
All of the files that you will need are located here: http://www.galvanizeit.org/ref/rustsucks/rustsucksflashproject.zip
I hope this isn't too confusing and let me know if you have any questions. We need this project to be completed ASAP...no later than September 21st. Thanks!
