We are moving our retail store and real estate office to a new building. You guys designed a new logo for us back in March, which we love. The building is almost finished and we have a 5 foot rock in the front. Since we are in a tourist area, we are hoping to create a photo op with something really neat sandblasted into the rock. Our area is in the mountains of Northern New Mexico with lots of pine trees. Wildlife are deer, elk, bear, and trout. We want the words Red River, New Mexico, Established 1895. Other than that we are very open to any ideas. Our logo has a pine cone on it.
I will post a picture of the building and the rock later if that will help.
I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. I need to have a design by September 20.
Thanks,
Linda

Isn't anyone interested in having their design immortalized forever? Thousands of tourists will have their pictures made in front of this very rock! I know you guys can come up with something great.

Hi Calhoun,
Here's a concept for your rock sculpture. I've tried to use some traditional motifs in the design and I've also included a stylized elk. If you like the concept but would like to see any revisions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you,
Dave

Thanks for starting this off. I do like the concept. I would like to see a more realistic elk. A head shot with the elk bugleing.

Maybe use Est. 1985, so that will be bigger.
Moz,
Are you going to be submitting something?

Hi Linda,
I got your private message. My main concern is that a more detailed elk simply won't be scuptable.

Fabian,
I really like your tree. I think I would like to see the mountains a little more peaked. I'm not in love with the deer. Maybe a different animal? I just want it to say Est. 1895, leave out since.
Moz,
I really like your elk. I'm afraid your tree is too detailed. This will be sandblasted not laser etched. Could I see it on the rock?
David,
I agree with you on not being too detailed, I was hoping maybe just a profile of a head with the antlers. I'm open to other animals also. What about a bear or trout?
To throw out a whole different concept, we are an old mining town. Does that do anything for anyone.
Thanks,
Linda

Here is a more recent photo of the building with the rock in the concrete and a better feel for the building.

I need to extend the deadline to Oct. 5. I am going to be busy moving the store for a while and I'm not going to have much time. Is anyone interested in showing me any revisions from my suggestions.
Paula,
I'd like to see a different concept. I think your first design is more modern looking than I want. The building has an old mining feel to it.

Thanks Jon,
I was hoping you would enter since you are in Albuquerque. Have you ever been to Red River? We are 35 miles north of Taos. Thanks.
Moz,
I would still like to see your entry on the rock.
Linda
I'm sorry Linda, I thought I was out of the running
Here you go! Thanks for asking!

PS- I took out the trees

We are looking for the old feel. We want Est not established spelled out.
Aaron, I think yours is too busy.
Gig, Interesting, but I think we are starting to lean more towards mountains. That is what really says Red River.
NHR, I'm not sure what the wavy lines represent across the bottom. I like the pick axes.
Moz, could I see a different font.
Thanks,
Linda

Thank you for answer, Linda.
Weave lines represent river - my try to make design for exactly this stone.
Thank you,
