We are an environmental consulting firm with 16 employees in Newark, Delaware. We have been in business for 15 years and we have added many new services over the past few years.

We are looking to put together a glossy booklet describing the company and all of our services as well as several key projects.

We are looking to have these printed by October 24th for a big event (see billboard contest) and so we need some designs in the next week or so.

We want to spotlight our four Divisions
1. Special Projects
2. Natural Sciences
3. Audits and Soils
4. Construction Review and Remediation

as well as our three offices

Georgetown, DE

We are having elance.com provide some copy for this as well as to update our web site. We also have a million photographs that would be available for use.

We will try to merge the copy and the photographs onto our web site also so that there is continuity between the web site and brochure.

I know it will be a little difficult without the copy, but we are looking for a layout that will knock our socks off and then we will make the copy work.

Hi JCMECI, I understand your concern, but let me assure you that you have little to worry about. Your deadline of Oct 1 gives the designers 2 weeks to submit their entries, and you have designers that stated that they are going to post their entries. If you want to see something sooner, then perhaps you may want to up the deadline a bit.

And sorry for the delay. Here's my first submission to your project. The frontcover and the back of the brochure. Let me explain a few elements on the cover. First of all, I chose to place people there. Why people? Because I think that the JCMECI is all about: people. Specialists. It's not just landscape and workplaces, it's about people. So I chose to place your team there. Also, I wanted to set up a contrast to underline the slogan. And there is one last thing: in the upper part I chose some old wood element background to suggest strength over time. Pleas elet me know what you think. I am currently working on the inside content.

Hello JCMECI,

No problem for the tweaking. All photos are placed there as suggestions, to express my idea - real people involved in the business, "We are on your team". As the matter of fact, I intend to mix the landscape element with the human element in the brochure, that is one way (I think) to have a "human touch". Also, we can tweak all the photos inserted. As you can see, I continued in the same feel with the picture slide on the back.

My employees and I have decided that images with Jack Nicklaus in them probably cannot be used without his permission and we really don't have time to secure his permission.

Back Cover - Instead of Corporate Address, Each location listed and the phone number with the web site address and we are on your team.

Inside....limit the use of white text and substitute charcoal or dark green where possible....leaving white for important bullet items, headings and over darker backgrounds.

Services and Office Locations Page - The special projects division needs their services listed also.....maybe this can carry over to second column.

I assume that all of the text and pictures will be easily changed in house? What program will we need to use?

The Division page is great and we were thinking we could even do double sided handout sheets for each division with the division information on one side and the Services and Office Locations page on the other, we would just need our logo on one of the pages...does this make sense to make the pages useful from several different perspectives?

Before I send final art, i would like to check to seee if we could get any higher reolution images, we could use these but be aware that when sized this booth pop up is 40 inches and these photos are a largest 8 inches. It could work, just want to make sure!

Could you make the center picture on the back color?

Could you add "Water Quality Monitoring" to the list of services provided under the Peninsula Project on the projects page.

We noticed that the full name of the company doesn't appear anywhere "James C. McCulley IV, Environmental Consultants Inc." maybe on the cover.

The few printers I have talked to said EPS with 1/8 to 1/4 inch bleed. Is it sized for 12 x 12? Could we adjust to 8.5 x 11 or is this a major redesign?

Hello Jim,

I can take care of the first three requests. For the last one...I thought 12x12 inches is what you needed and designed the layout accordingly. I can redesign the whole brochure with 8.5x11 dimensions, but yes, this is major redesign, and it will take me at least two days to rematch, redesign all the elements. The brochure has square pages now, in the other version it will be rectangle, so all photos and text will have to be repositioned.
