Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Obtiva (or Obtiva Corporation???)

What type of product or service do you offer?
Niche IT Training and Consulting to software development teams and project managers. Clients are Fortune 1000 VPs and Directors with large, challenging projects.

How long have you been in business?
This is a new business identity, but the principal consultants have approx 10 years in the business.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Convey authority, agility, knowledge, success, trust.

What are your long term goals?
Train developer teams and managers in what they need in order to succeed in the enterprise software business.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Jaded software developers and IT executives.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Mostly text with a splash of one other color. If a symbol is created, make it very clean. Maybe something like a human outline in motion or just a swooshy thing. Maybe a play on the O in Obtiva.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Here are the two web templates I am considering for our site:
http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/8759.html?&templ=8759&tab=178
http://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/8255.html

So, it should be something that would fit with either of those.

Communication Strategy:
What is your tagline or slogan?
Training that matters.

I would like to see the tagline included.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, Business cards, Stationary, Shirt embroidery, large signs and banners at tradeshows.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Here are some I like:
http://www.trainup.com/home.aspx
http://www.traininghott.com/CityAll/Schaumburg-IL.htm

I like the sites but the logos are just a little too garish.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Expert, niche training on real skills that will improve a software team's effectiveness.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Niche Training.

Business Name: Obtiva or (Obtiva Corporation)
Payment : $175
Deadline : Sept 25th, 2005

FYI, here is another competitor. I really like this site because it is so clean. Our logo doesn't have to be quite so simple but it should look good on a site with a similar style.

Anyone working on this project? Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks!

Hi Pracus,

Thanks for breaking the ice! Your design is very nice. I like the way you incorporated a person into it, as that is our business. Also, I like that you played off of the O and b.

It is a little busy, though. I would prefer something a bit simpler overall. Also, the font is a bit loopy--I would prefer a more solid feeling font, if that makes sense. :-)

pracus: I saw you had posted some additional logos but now they are gone. Any chance to get those back?

Hoping to get a few more designers involved in this. Anyone interested?

Pracus: I'll run this by the group. Thanks!

Pracus: Okay, I got some feed back for you.

We really like your #3. We like the clean font and the Ob interaction. We decided that the hat/person thing on top of the O is not working for us. Can we see a version without it?

Version #2 is interesting but not the direction we want to go.

Version #4 is nice. I like the solid feel to it. Can you try it without the arms/wings on the i? Also, try making the "Training that matters" the same width as "Obtiva," and also maybe change the font family to a san-serif?

Thank you!
Heh, my intention was to show the tie symbol in version #4 but as we can see I didn't ;)

Ruairi: Cool, look forward to your entry.

Pracus: Your version #5 is awesome! It is very much in line with what we are going after. Thanks for version 6/7 revisions. I don't think they are as close to what we want as #5. I would be interested to see any more designs from you that are aesthetically similar to #5 but with different twists, so to speak.

Hi :)

Thanks for your submissions, guys! I appreciate the effort you put into them.

Ruairi:
Version #1: This rocks. The team concensus was that it conveyed a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Is it possible to get a few color samples?

Version #3: This one is quite popular with the team. The colors and font are great. Would like to see if you could make the 'O' flow with the rest of the name a bit more. The arrow isn't working for us. It isn't meaningful, seems to distract the eye from the overall logo, and made the name read a bit like "93tiva".

Fabian: This is nice but it doesn't have the feel that we are going for. Thanks for the effort!

Here are some color variations for No. 1. I will post some variations with No. 3 in a few minutes.

Thank you.

Here's a concept from me. I've subsituted the letter "i" with a little representation of a person lifting dumbells. But I think that's pretty self-explanatory, that was the intention :)
I'll be submitting a different color scheme later that goes with the 2nd layout that you posted.

Thanks everyone for submitting designs for our logo. There were some really cool logos to consider. This has been an awesome process and it wouldn't have been without all of your talent.

Ruairi's version #4 is the winner. This design has a simplicity that we were looking for but also will be memorable.

Ruairi, not sure what I need to do next to get you paid.

The only thing we would like to have changed is to cut out the tagline. Not including the tagline will give us a bit of versatility in how we use the logo. But, could you tell me the font you used?

Thanks, for a great logo! We are very excited about it.

Additionally, it is the blue version #4 that we are interested in.

Thanks.

Hi Ruairi,

I looked at the files but the tagline is still included. Could you remove the tagline and resend?

Thanks!
