We will be holding a tent sale for our used bookstore at the end of October. To advertise the sale, we will be sending out 4" x 6" full-color post cards to our customer mailing list.

Background:

We want something that will catch our customers' attention. For some background on our store, you can review our website:Read Ink Books (http://www.readinkbookstore.com)

We will be holding this sale in conjuction with one of our neighbors. You can view their flyer for their sale here: Tate's Comics Flyer (http://www.tatescomics.com/Images/Special%20Events/HalloweenSale05/HalloweenFlyer05.jpg). While most of the information on this flyer is the same as ours, our customer base is different. So, we don't want to make our sale a "Halloween Sale." So, ignore Tate's Halloween theme. Also note that Tate's flyer was not designed to be mailed out, while ours will.

Details:

We will be calling this sale, "The Read Ink Books Tent Sale."

We will be offering thousands of high-quality used books from all genres.

The sale will take place Oct 29th and 30th with the following hours: Saturday 10AM - 8PM and Sunday 10AM - 4 PM.

Inside the store: Everything will be 50% off our already low prices.

Outside in the Tent: Everything will be 75% off our already low prices with every 5th book free. Most books will priced between $0.25 and $1.00.

In addition to the details of the sale, we need to include the following on our post card:

- Our logo (attached below), which we have in other formats if you need it. The red color in our logo is: Official PMS colors: Red #187c and web equivalent colors: Red R=175 G=30 B=45 Hex=#AF1E2D

- The map to our store (attached below).

- Our address, phone number, and website.

- A very small mention of "In conjuction with Tate's Halloween Tent Sale." If you want to lift Tate's logo from his website (Tate's Comics (http://www.tatescomics.com)), that would be great. This mention should probably be in a small corner the card.

- Of course there needs to be room on one side for the address and post stamp.

Our printer uses a high-gloss finish that will show any color you may want to include. File specification are availabe in the following two links from the printer we will be using:

File Prep (http://www.clubflyers.com/file_prep.php) and Print 101 (http://www.clubflyers.com/print_101.php)

Hopefully I didn't leave anything out, but I will check this forum frequently to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks!

Hi Kekepenia,

Thanks for your entry; however, this is not at all what we had in mind. We were hoping for a professional two sided postcard. It appears that there are way too many different font types and different colors used on this entry. Unfortunately, we do not like the theme of the stage curtain either. It is a bit too flashy and not professional enough.

We want to have a professional, high quality postcard with the tent sale information on one side, and on our address, website, phone number, map, etc… on the other side.

We hope others are working on this project and we look forward to more designs. You are all so talented and creative.

Thanks so much for your work.

Grafissimo,

Thanks so much for your entry! This design is much more of what we are looking for. Can you clean it up and put it in the 4x6 size format with both sides of the postcard (including the address/phone/website info and map).

We really like the books you used on the postcard! Great design! However, it is difficult to see the separation between the “inside” and “outside” of the store sales as it is there. We need that to be very clear. We also really like how you put Tates on the bottom orange book!

We look forward to more!

Grafissimo,

Thanks! The “inside”/ “outside” info looks much better.

On the front side: Can we see the “O” capitalized in October? The line “Most books will… needs to say “Most books will be priced between $0.25 and $1.00” and can we find a way to emphasize that line either by bolding it or underlining it? Can we also see the word “off” next to the 50% and 75%, denoting the sale?

Just a concern- do you think the yellow is too faint for the “Outside in the Tent” lines? Should we use a green or something instead? Just a thought...

On the back side: We want to remove the info@readinkbookstore.com. And, can we change the website address to be readinkbookstore.com and move it under the address and phone number in red.

We also need to make an additional notation on the back of the card somewhere. We need to add: *Trade credit cannot be used on books outside in the tent sale area

Also, please take a look at the link to the file prep instructions from the printer above in our description. Thanks!

Thanks so much Grafissimo! :)

Hi Grafissimo,

Thanks for your great work!

Can we see October in bold so it stands out more? Also, can you change 29/30 th to look like: 29th & 30th?

Also, in the green font, I think we should remove the period at the end of the sentence now to keep it consistent with the other phrases.

We liked the fading you did to the arrows in the previous versions.

Also, we want to be sure that the writing on the last orange book doesn’t get cut off when we get the postcards printed…

Thanks!

Hi !
I changed October into red to get it more "important" ( I see you want to highlight it ... apart from that - it's bold now ... ).
Be shure that the last text ( TATE ) will not be cut off ....
By the way - can you upload both logos ( yours and the one of TATE in Adobe Illustrator format ?! )
Comments welcome ... :smirk:

Great work! :D

The date looks great in red, it stands out much better! Thanks!

In the green text, can we remove the punctuation (the period) at the end of the sentence to keep it consistent with the other phrases?

Also, we like the way you had the “Most books will priced between $0.25 and $1.00” in a darker color in the previous version.

Can you make the green arrow a bit longer?

I will upload our logo for you, but I do not have Tate’s logo in adobe, I’m sorry.

Looking forward to seeing the back of the postcard as well!

Thanks so much!

RIB

Awesome!

The only thing I can think of changing on the front side is to perhaps bold the "29th & 30th".

Wonderful work Grafissimo!

All that is left is the backside!! :)

Could you review the FilePrep and Print101 above in our description to make sure the files will be ready for our printer. We will need the files in jpeg, pdf, eps, tif and any other formats the printer needs in the Print101 file.

Thanks so much!

Hi to Maria - see how good your logo looks on this postcard! Where is Maria anyway? I don't see any flying chickens around here

Hi !
I prepared the final files and I want you to give me the "Final OK" .
As you can see I made some minor changes at the back. Replacing the used font in the small map with the new one we are using. I also made some changes to make the most of the space we have at the left for the map - so everything could be readable !
At the front I added a shadow to the TATE - and some minor position changes in the blue text ...
Everything to improve the overall look !!!
Take your time to control all the text ( I'm not a native speaking ... so ... ) and give me the final OK.
Waiting for your answer. :smirk:

We love the front side so much! Looks awesome!

And, I am sure the back looks great, however, we could not view it from your attachment. Can you send it again?

It would be great to get this to the printer today, so hopefully you have time to send the files today.

Thanks so much for all of your hard work and attention to details!

... here again the backside ... have a look and give me the final OK !
If you want I could eliminate the frame of the address-box ( it will look a little bit "calmer" ?! )

Wonderful!

I agree with you that we should remove the boxes to appear more calm!

Otherwise, we are ready to go! Wonderful job!

Thank you so very much Grafissimo!

Hi !
Sorry for the delay ... but I had some doubts about the posting rules which I dwonloaded a time ago. I contacted US Post to see if everything is right and they send me the new template ( I'll attach it ).
To keep the requiered spaces clean I had to change the composition ... but it still looks good and everything is readable.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's in your interest. It would have been terrible if the final postcards would have suffered problems sending them.
Give me your final OK for the revision and I'll send you the final files.
Greetings
