I need a logo for an upcoming web site. The company name is Staged Appeal. The company does both interior design, and more frequently, home preparation for sale before going on the market. My existing brochure is in Deep Red with some yellow, so I'd like the design to keep this in mind. There is the suggestion on the face of the brochure of a drawn theater curtain, alluding to the "Stage" in Staged Appeal.
My current business card face has Staged Appeal in Lucinda Sans font below a hand drawn minimal room setting of a sofa, plant, table, lamp and area rug.
I will be redoing the business card with the new logo, but I thought I'd mention what I have going on in case it might inspire someone.
Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Staged Appeal
What type of product or service do you offer?
Preparing homes for sale by reorganizing and enhancing
How long have you been in business?
3 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Readily identifiable logo for realtors who see my work and can use my services or recommend me.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
realtors and homeowners
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Employee relocation firms and senior assisted living developers
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something that suggests working with homes, yet at the same time maing a connection with the play on words of Staged Appeal.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Dark red and yellow. Matches my existing brochure and dark red can be associated with a stage curtain.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Good taste and style
What is your tagline or slogan?
The way you live in a home and the way you sell a home are two different things.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Staging is an investment, and that investment is always less that the first price reduction after an unstaged home has been on the market too long.
Where will your new logo be used?
Business cards and new Web site.
Hi Donny,
Can you please have a look at our Logo Design Assessment, and give the team as much of the information from those questions as you can? Here is the assessment: http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7819
If you have a file that you could upload of your old card that may be helpful as well..
Also, may I get a deadline (due date) for your project please :)
Thanks so much!

Paula,
I like your design, but not for my type of business. I think it looks somewhat industrial, like I'd see in an industrial park. I also think the word "Staged" needs to be more pronounced, and my business is primarily home staging. Thanks for your effort, and hopefully you can keep trying. See if you can perhaps work in something theatrical as a graphic backdrop or highlight. Thanks, Donny

Paula,
I replied to your version 2 before I even saw version one, which is much closer to my suggestions in my reply. I like the curtain in version one, but I would prefer that it look more theatrical then a home curtain.
I waiting to see a design from someone else before I decide which designer to work with. So far you're it.
Thanks

Paula,
Version three is picking up on my suggestions, but now I'm on the fence. I'm also thinking about something like a caricature of a house being the "A" in Appeal. Something that would make a connection of the business name to the market it serves. I was hoping to get a copy of my existing business card and brochure on this site before I left for vacation, but I had difficulty doing so. I would be able to get back to it until I return on Oct 9.
Hi Team,
Here is Donny's current business card and brochure:

Is it still available to put an entry?

Djaka,
It's not too late. I think your design has promise. Would it be workable, or maybe too strange, to have the house be the "A" in Staged, as well as the "A" in Appeal, with font size the same for each word?

Titania,
Very clever. I hadn't thought of theater spotlights to tie in with the STAGED name. However, I feel it's a bit too whimsical, and perhaps a little too much going on. Thanks for your effort.

This is my revision. The letter now all capitalized, to give more serious and strong look, yet clean to the overall logo.
The lines under the house can become a pathway to the house (the company prepared the house to be ready for potential buyer to come, 'we welcome you to come and see') or meaning that the company raised the house's value (I mean more attractive so the house owner will be happy because they can get more money.. hehehe, sorry CMIIW).
So I hope that the logo will works both to the potential buyer and the house owner/seller.
Designers,

Hello All,
I've been quiet lately because I've been working on getting this last post downloaded to me. I've been going over your designs with professional friends of mine, and the consensus is that I've been giving directions that are straying from the classiness of the face of my existing brochure which was posted earlier. Especially with the scrolling typeface on the brochure that everyone loves. This last posting is a trademark logo that I have on my brochure face that signifies I am an accreditted staging professional master. I thinking that the simple concept of the house shape can be utilized with or without the surrounding wreath. Perhaps a classy SA initial within with Staged Appeal below, to the side, or even around instead of the wreath. Please play with these ideas and try to keep the lettering similar to the brochure face. Thanks.

Hello,
I am not sure if I am in the good direction but here's my proposal.

Caroline,
You are in a good direction. I would like to see a triangular top to the box to suggest a home. Also, please look at the lettering on my brochure face. I would like to see something softer like what I already have used. Thanks

Caroline,
I really like what you did. I'm not sure about the bar below the Staged Appeal. I'm thinking about it totally underlining the words and perhaps somewhat narrower. Once that is done, when the final files are being done, I'm thinking I might want to use the logo in different ways and at times want the staged appeal portion either left out or maybe to the right. Could you do multiple files?? One as it is, and others with the main logo separate from the company name? Thanks

Caroline,
I miss the shading on the wreath in version 2. Let's also try just one line below Staged Appeal, but a little bolder than the two lines in version 4. Thanks

Hello Don,
Perfect. I will do the revision. The previous version was done on the flat version only, not the shaded one.
Let me work on it.

Caroline

Caroline,
Please go back and reread message #27. I'd like to see an underline accross all the wording but not as bold as the block you had done, and slightly thicker than than the lines used in version 4. Almost there. Thanks

Caroline,
I don't see the reply I did earlier today. Please just do the underline and not the top line, and make it a little bolder. That will probably be it. Thanks

Caroline,
Now I see my earlier note and your new version. I like it. Please go ahead and send me what I need. As I noted before, I'd like to have the actual logo part sent separately from the Staged Appeal, and another, if possible, with both together. Thanks
