Hi all - hope someone can help as we are accountants in need of design inspiration !

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Hanburys Chartered Certified Accountants

Services Provided.
Please view our (basic) website for details of the services provided. www.hanburys.co.uk

Established.
Business is over 7 years old

New Identity.
We are looking for a logo that signifies a young, growing dynamic accountancy practice

Long Term Goals.
Expand the practice through market awareness using the new logo to provide us with a marketable corporate image

Audience Profile:
Exisiting Clients.
Small family run businesses and younger generation new start ups.

Target audience.
More of the above but also trying to attract larger medium sized businesses

Guidelines:

Logo.
We are looking for something crisp and clean portraying a high level of professionalism (but have no idea as to what this may look like) - maybe something playing on the H in Hanburys - but maybe something completely detached

Colours.
Our current heading is the company name in Green printed on a cream background - green as on the website - but open to suggestions.

Communication Strategy:

Attributes to be reflected.
Forward thinking, proactive, approachable, highly professional and skilled

Slogan.
Our website contains the tagline "Let us Account for your Growth" but this hasn't been used on any other literature so is not set in stone.

Usage.
The new logo will be used on business cards, invoices, letterheads and compliments slips. It will also be used in a new corporate brochure as part of marketing drive when we move offices in December.

Deadline.

We would like to have the logo designed and agreed by end of October to enable the next stage of marketing following the move to be planned, and stationery prepared.

If you require further info or clarification on any points please post.

All the best of luck.

Hi folks, sorry for the delay in replying, we have been canvassing a few clients ofr there thoughts and feedback on the designs submitted.

These responses are in order of the logos submitted:-

Logo 1 - message 2 - apart from chartered being spelt wrong, and there being no apostrophe in the name the feedback was an interesting idea - but implying a firm stuck in the old times with old ledgers - not of a young firm in modern times.

Logo 2 - quite catching but a number of clients pointed out it was similar to another firm that uses the first inital of name in a similar sytle/font.

Logo 3 - interesting and quite well received by clients - but just seeming to be missing something - could we see what it would look like without the box aroud the outside. Its good but not quite there.

Logo 4 - the other popular design with our clients - agian no apostrophe though - could we see what it is like with a pane in the door to break it up a bit.

Logo 5 - no liked at all - too old fashioned and bulky.

Logo 6 - there seemed to be some amusement as to what the logo represented with some putting forward the idea of a basement/sink arrangement. Not sure what else to say.

Logo 7 - Interesting but felt to be too busy and the focus drawn to an old fashion accounting tool - and not towards a modern practice.

Logo 8 - actually liked the colours - thought they worked well - but the design didn't have enough to grab the clients attention - didn't think it would mean anything as a standalone image.

There you go - thats a summary of the feedback - hopefully it offers some help as to where we are with our thinking and the views of the clients who will have to be receiving the logo in various forms.

Cheers.

DEADLINE EXTENSION

Having recieved several additional design ideas following the feedback we posted last week, we have decided to extend the deadline for this design project by one week. The new deadline is 7 November 2005.

Hopefully we will see more designs before the deadline, and in particular some of the revisions to current designs suggested previously.

Some more feedback -

Message 12 - this wasn't liked much - 1 person commented it looked like a sad face !!! I could see where they were coming from once it was explained.

Message 13 & 14 - different - and recieved mixed responses - however, could we see it with the green on the outside and a light blue - the name (preferably spelt correctly) would then be in the green with the Chartered Accountants bit in light blue.

Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try to have the revisions for you before the deadline.

Sorry for the wait but I just got my power back on this morning after a week since Hurricane Wilma.

Hi Caroline,

Thanks for that - much better received - however, wasn't sure about the orange - maybe added too much colour - could you try it with only the blue and green.

Also could Hanburys be in one of the colours rather than black.

Cheers.

Ian

Now I see why some of your staff saw this concept in an ambiguous way. Here are a few refinements and modifications. :D

Well the final decision is in, and we'd like to thank all who took time in entering. Having reviewed the comments from our independant panel the winner for this logo will be awarded to Relevant Studio - we intially misunderstood the design, well we think so, but have been advised differently as to what it represents.

Thanks again to all.

Hi Jon,

Well done. There are a couple of revisions please.

1. Can you remove the apostrophe from the name.
2. Can the font be chnaged to the one used by the Kassi design, or 1 very similar.
3. Can the wording underneath be extended to two lines - the second line containing "and business advisers"
4. Can the logo be made a slightly lighter shade of green - something not quite so dark.

As we are in the UK we will be off home shortly so we might not be back online until monday.

Have a good weekend.

Cheers

Hi there, thanks for the lighter green but we all winced when we saw it. Maybe we'll stick to what we know. Can you do the green in pantone 349, as that is our current colour and our printer uses the pantone range.

Also can you confirm the logo comes as an ESP file, apparently this is what our printer has asked.

Finally, will the logo and the wording come as seperate files so we can play around with the layout on our paperwork.

That should then be it.

Many thanks.
