Hello everyone,

I need the following: a static image header (for my website) and a flyer template – an 8 ˝ x 11 sheet, one-sided, which I will use as a template for flyers (the actual flyer text content will change). The header image should be the basis for the flyer template as well.

The website is www.BakeSaleOnline.com, a fundraising website, which enables schools and other non-profits to raise money, via affiliate programs at various online stores. Since the concept is a virtual bake sale, I’d like to use that concept in the design – possibly a stack of cookies, or some other baked goods, maybe some coins, maybe not.

The static image header:

The header should be 800px wide and 85px high. It will be used as a background behind the top of each web page, extending down to the bottom of the tabbed top navigation bar. The logo, tabs, and “school to benefit” info will overlay the header.

The flyer template:

Included below is verbiage for the first flyer. I will need to be able to modify the text content, for various announcements. I’ll need the template to be available in color – graphics only, no text, for the occasional 4-color press printing, in jpg format. In addition, I’ll need a graphics plus text version in grayscale, for inclusion in a Word document (I guess jpg will work here, as well), so my school coordinators can readily print it on any computer (I’ll be e-mailing announcements to them).

I’d like the general format to be the logo and header image at the entire top of the page extending down to around 1.25 inches, including the margin, and the image continuing down the left side, 1.5 to 1.75 inches wide, including the margin. These are not really requirements, just the format of a PictureIt!-based flyer I’ve been using.

Here’s the text for the first flyer (shown formatted better in the attached file "bso flyer text only":

Just want to point out that not all web designers are print designers and visa versa, this will limit the number of entries you will get. I would suggest that you hold 2 separate projects.

OK. How do I go about cancelling and resubmitting the project?
Thanks.

Also, in order for the website header and flyer template to use the same stock photo, how would this work if I separated the projects? And, which project would logically come first?
Thanks.

Hi Steve, apologies for the delay.

If you can tell me the break down of the funds then I shall split the project for you.

Michael:

I'm still concerned about how to accomplish continuity between the website and the flyer - I'd like them to "match". Is there any way to split this such that that can still happen? And if so, which project should go first (or is that even possible with the split)?
Thanks.

Ok reading over your brief again I've come to the conclusion that it wouldn’t really need a web designer to do the graphic header as there is no coding involved. So saying that you would likely to get print designers submitting designs for the static header but I still personally feel that it would be best to have separate projects being the static header first. Once you have the header then this will give the designers a basis to design with.

But it will have to be stressed that the static header image would have to be supplied both in high resolution for print and a low one for the web in the sizes needed.

Your thoughts?

Michael:
Of course, you're much more experienced with these issues, but I don't see an advantage to splitting the project, if a print designer could do both. Splitting them out would make it more difficult for the two potentially different designers to get the same look - esp. if photos are used, which I expect. So, I see only a downside to splitting the project. What is the advantage?

Thanks for your input.

This project is being cancelled, and a new Elements project has been created.
