Hello Andrew,
I wanted to participate to your project, and this is my first submission. OK, I diverted a bit from your initial guidelines for the front of the business card. I created some "regions" and placed different elements - logo, website address etc. Also, I added the word "Enter" under the website address and under the "strong website words"(chat, play..) to represent a call for action. "Enter. And see what we talk about."
I know this is different from your guidelines, but I wanted to post this version like it is.
I'll work on designing one version without the "enter" thingy :)
Virgil.

Fran:
Looks good - really can't suggest anything else - Let's keep it at that for now.
virgil - thanks for your interpretation - using the word "enter" - is actually something I don't mind at all. The back of the card looks a little to "busy" to me though - looking for more white space overall.
Great work - would love to see a couple more designs.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi Virgil,
Good job on your revsions - looks good - let's leave it at that design for now (I don't want to ask for to many revisions until I have chosen a winner).
Paul:
Not bad - but a little to "simple". I want some more colour variation on both sides - Also, the backside blue is a little hard with dark blue background, light blue text. Looking for more whitespace as well.
Thanks guys - great submissions so far.
Andrew.

Hi Virgil,
At first i didn't like it - but i have to say it's grown on me :) I like the design a lot - reminds me of a phone card a little bit :) But i think it's something that people would want to pick up.
Is it possible to show me a simliar design with a little less white space ?
Let me nkow,
Andrew.

Yes Andrew, of course, I am working on it :)

Andrew, now the front side has almost all colors from your website. I preffered to separate "Connect" from the other "calls for action" as you have to know what you can do: buy, sell, play - then the website address - then "connect".
Thank you,
Virgil.

Fran:
Alright -definately getting there. The graphics on the front are perfect, on the back info side, can you possibly "spice up " the top a bit - maybe add a smaller version of the logo?
Crazeyman:
Thanks for your submission - actually, i like your take on the busines card, definately different then the rest. Again - can you try to do a "vertical" information side to the card - i'd like to see how that turns out. Otherwise, I definately like it.
Thanks guys,
Andrew.

Hi bschwabauer,
Wow - different - and impressed . I love the info side. But perhaps, can you make 1 change - remove the logo from this side.
Now on the other side - i like it a lot - is it possible to incorporate my logo somewhere in there - as well as the words "Milton 411" - feel free to play with the text, but i abo****ely love the colours of and feel of the card.
Andrew.
Now on the "graphics" side - can you somehoe incorporate a "fairly large" logo as we

Hey Andrew,
Here is the designs with changes. I do recommend that the logo go back on the info side because when people put your card in their rolldex or those business card planners, they usually chose the side with the contact info and you want your logo to be seen so they become familiar with it.
Thanks

Ok - point taken....I never thought of that
My main issue is I want it to say "Milton 411" on the graphics side of the post card - how about this - put the logo back on the info side (as before), and where the logo is now on on the grpahics side, replace it with the text "Milton 411" in "bigger letters"...what do you think about that?

Hey Andrew,
Here are new layouts with the logo on the info side and the other side I have one with just the type and one with the logo, either one should be good.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I have to say it's been a hard choice - but i've chosen crazeeyman's design - message #29.
Can you do me a favour and make a revision - where it says "buy, sell, trade, chat, connect"...can you take that out...and write in big letters "Connect"...maybe going verticale (sideways) if you know what i mean?
Again - great work everyhone - congrats Crazeyman - thank you Shima for your last minute response...it was a hard choice.

Hi Crazeyman - alright :) i wasn't able to get ahold of the printing company - so thats a no go...Is it possible for you to send some kind of "generally accepted format" - or do the formats very dramatically from printer to printer? Sorry for my delay...
Andrew.
(ps - if in the near future i try to get it printed, and the format isn't correct, would it be possible for you to adjust it?).
Thanks - i want to pay you :)

Hi Crazeyman ,
THanks for the quick reply - however, im' confused! LOL - 6 files.
A "doc.txt" file (not sure what it's for), a "normal" text file (1kb) just contains some symbols... 2 tif files - which i assume are the printers specs - however, when i open up the tiff files "info side" of the business card, it doesn't have my address details, only my name in the top right?
Finally - it contains some "fh10" and "fh11" file - which i have no idea what they are...
Can you please help me out - when i've done business cards on here before, i received 2 Photoshop, 2 TIF, and 2 JPG files..so now i'm very confused.
Let me know,
ANdrew.

Hello hello,
Yes, the files I posted where freehand eps files (fh10). You probably won't be able to open them on your computer unless you have the appropriate program. The contact info will not show up on the tiff files because the type is line art in the eps document (maintained line art for crisp-ness). Do you have an eps reader that I might be able to send you a file in? (*freehand or photoshop). Let me know.
-Thanks

12-05-2005, 11:28 AM
Hello,
Sorry about the delay, Photoshop and MS paint are not vecxtor based programs and in that case will not work. If you would like me to make another copy as a flat image file I can and you should be able to open it with those programs although the line quality of an image file is not as good. The next best thing is a pdf file. There should be a pdf file in the zip. Let me know if this helps at all.
ps (vector programs) freehand, illustrator, (any eps reader)

Hi Crazeyman,
Thanks for all your help - i'll submit the FH files as you specified -is it possible to send me the files as an .eps extention as a backup, and also pdf files so i can haev something i can "see".
Thanks again for your patience - after this, all is said and done..again sorry for the slow replies on my end - been extremely busy during the season.
Andrew.
