Sorry, realized that I closed off my first post without saying that I am really excited to see what the designers come up with. I have been lurking here for a bit and have seen some pretty cool stuff. Don't have any examples offhand but I think based on what I've seen you guys will wow me for sure. Thanks and I hope this one turns out to be as fun for you as it is for me.

Hmmm. My bad. One more quick add and then I'll wait to see if any designers have questions. I'd like for this to now be real "cartoony". K, thanks.

Wow, guess I shouldn't write at 3AM anymore. I'd like for this to not be too cartoony.

Hi John,
Here's an initial idea. You'll probably see it unless you're looking at 3am again (or perhaps that will help!) the symbol has the 'I' the 'R' and also ties back to the "money theme you alluded to in your initial post with the double stroke from often attributed to the $ symbol. Also references the anarchy symbol (relating back to the "punk" theme)
Let me know your thoughts.
Cheers,
Paul

Jon, Paul...thanks both of you for hopping in. I'm like a kid in a candy store with this stuff:)
Jon-The Western/Outlaw theme jumps right out at you for sure. I like the idea of having Internet Renegade and then the web address right underneath it. Cool, because I was wondering how to get the character and the web site all together. I'm not crazy about the font though and would like something a little more contemporary. I don't know why but getting the money theme in is really sticking out in my mind. Additional thoughts would be appreciated.
Paul-I really like the whole anarchy idea. If we could do something with that symbol, like put it inside a dollar bill of some kind I think that would be totally cool. Also, would you be able to drop the "Inc" and maybe do something a little more like Jon's design in terms of text (Internet Renegade and www.internetrenegade.com). Thanks and I look forward to some additional idea.
Thanks again to both of you and I am excited to see what else you come up with.

Hey John,
Thanks for the feedback. I'll change the inc etc and post back. I do feel that putting the symbol in a "note" is a little too blatant (almost ignoring the visual literacy of the target audiece). I'll see what I can do.
Cheers,
Paul

Paul-
I consulted with my better half and she agrees that perhaps a "note" might be a bit much. So, keep the path you're on...I'd like to see the text changed and perhaps the symbol repositioned a bit...I can't quite place my finger on it but I feel like there should be just a touch more. Thanks.

Jon-
Thanks for the new ideas. I like the new font much better and I think you're spot on with that color green. I am not big on the lasso so I like where you're going with the $ better. I'd like to see it more symmetrical and cleaner. Perhaps with some chroming effects also. I like the way the lasso is really clean and then you have the "dirty" font. If you could do that with the $ sign that would be cool. Thanks!

Jon-
Would it be possible to make the $ stronger? Fatten it up a bit and make the top and bottom curves a bit more symmetrical?
Also as far as chrome goes would you be able to get it more like this (attached) but perhaps with a green tint?
I like the $ angled better than 90 degrees straight up and down.
Also, I like the font colors better as they were in your first version. I'll be interested to see how this will come together. Thanks!!!

Jon-
Thanks for the continued efforts and sorry if I caused any confusion...what I mean with the chromed effect is if you look at the attachment I provided it looks "metallic" and very much like polished chrome. Your submissions look more "shaded" and less like a polished metal. Does that make sense? There was an HDTV show logo done here a couple weeks back called SOS and nhr does a version of the $ in a chromed effect which would be more what I'm talking about. There was another submission in there (sorry I need to find that contest that logo project) where the chromed effect of the lettering had a green tint to it as well. I'll see if I can find that and will post it back. Thanks
John
PS - Any other ideas would be welcome as well.

Paul-
I had a thought about your design. Could you put the symbol in between Internet and Renegade and then underneath have www.internetrenegade.com with a shadow effect? If you're still in on this I'd like to see what that looks like.
Jon-
I'm looking forward to your revisions :)
Also, is there anyone else that is going to possibly jump in on this? I'd like to do some banners which include the logo so I'm anxious to see some more design ideas. Thanks!

Ok gents...I think we're getting somewhere.
Jon -
I lilke the green "chromed" $. Can you change the Internet Renegade font to something more professional and maybe add a shadow under the $ and the www.internetrenegade.com? One long shadow underneath the whole piece?
Paul -
I really dig the way that looks. Can you just change the symbol back to the color in your first version? Thanks!

Ok, things are lookin good.
Jon- I'm happy with where your last revision is at so please leave as is.
Paul - I think yours is right on too...i just want to do something for comparison sake. Can you stack Internet on top of Renegade and have the symbol to the left of the text (basically right in the center) and then leave a copy of your last version in there as well. I just want to compare and see which route I like the best.
Gig - thanks for hopping in. I like your version 2 better than 1. Can you run www.internetrenegade.com underneath it? Maybe even drop the line you have as the floor. Also, I like your sybmol alot but I'm uncertain on the font. Could you toss out a couple of examples with some different fonts? Thanks!
John
thanks John, can you tell me the kind of font type you want? serif/sanserif/script/funny etc?

John,
Here's the requested comparison.

Thanks Paul. I think the version with the symbol in the middle speaks to me a bit more but I'm gonna think about it.
Gig - Can you try some script fonts? Thanks.
hi John, moderator here says that my design is too close with ratbaggy's design in the symbol of IR$, i just realize that becaused I didnt mean it!
I respect to other designer here, so I can't move forward my 2nd version, but I'll try other concept, sorry to say...

Gig - no problem. I guess it does look pretty similar. I really liked Pauls idea and maybe that's what struck me about your 2nd version. Ok, I look forward to your next concept. Thanks!

Gig- Are you coming back with anything more? Also, the deadline is approaching so I just wanted to see if any other designers are going to jump in before I make a decision? Thanks.

Deanna -
Thanks for jumping in. I like that for your first take. Would you mind maybe switching the symbol to the left and where you have the shadow...make that www.internetrenegade.com, maybe so it looks like the shadow does.
Gig - I like your version 2b better...could you make the internetrenegade stretch out over the entire bottom of the underline? Thanks!
John
thank you John for your quick feedback, so I did a quick response.. like this?

Yes, just like that. Thanks for the quick response:) Ok, Gig...leave yours as is. I'm gonna see if anything else comes through, otherwise I'll think on it a bit and have a decision by Friday. Thanks!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks all for your efforts. It is truly appreciated and you are all obviously very talented, making this a tough decision for me. I have made up my mind on this and am going with Paul's Anarchy themed design.
Paul...I like the last design the best (1.1) but with the symbol in the middle. The only additional thing I'd like to do is get the whole logo with the symbol in the middle and then I'd also like files with the symbol by itself, if possible.
Thanks again guys!
Best Regards,
John
