Hi,
I'm looking for an illustration or enhanced photograph of a "cash register" character that is jumping.
We are a surveillance camera company and several of our customers report that after they install surveillance cameras, their cash registers tend to "jump".
For example, we recently installed a surveillance system at a restaurant/bar with one camera directly on the bar cash register (the owner can watch from their house over the internet). After we installed, his cash register "jumped" $150.00 per day! (imagine that).
I thought it would be cool to do a campaign called "the incredible true story of the amazing jumping cash register" and tell these stories.
So I need an illustration or an enhanced photo.
300 Dpi.
Jpeg. And I'd like the layered photoshop files also.
Deadline December 2nd.
Thanks a lot. Please post questions.
Chris
Hallo, can you tell me image dimension?
Thank you.

Hi,
Did you have in mind a modern-style register, or the old-fashioned kind with slots and buttons that a lot of people think of when you say "cash register?"

Hi,
I was thinking modern...but I'm open to anything..the old fashioned kind might be more easily recognizable..I'm picturing a character like the Michelin man with sneakers jumping up in the air only his (or her) body is a cash register..
thanks

It will end up on a 4 x 6 inch postcard or a 6 x 8 inch postcard and needs to be at least 300 dpi
Thanks
Chris

Hi gig,
It looks too much like a calculator as opposed to a cash register. Cash registers (at least in my mind) are more upright and less flat..
thanks
Chris
Hi Chris
This is my first sketch. If you like the character I will redraw into good illustration.... your feedbacks are welcome :)

I don't think it looks enough like a cash register.
Could we try a photo?
Thanks

Hello Chris, to help the designers can you link them to what you feel a cash register should look like?
http://images.google.com/images?q=cash+register&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-25,GGLG:en&sa=N&tab=ii&oi=imagest
In addition, could you clarify what you mean by "Could we try a photo?" How can you photograph a cash register jumping?
Thank you :)
yes Palmer, i'm confuse with "jumping cash register" photograph :)

Hi Palmer,
How can you make a cash register jump?
How can you make Superman fly? How can King Kong... well, you get the "picture"....
Almost any of the images you linked to would be fine- if I could figure out how to copy and paste into this reply I'd show you which ones!
For example image #1 and image #7 look like what I'm hoping for...
I'm counting like this on Palmer's 1st Google page link
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8
9...
I'll link my examples soon
Thanks
Chris

Here's my idea:
If you like it, I'll work it up on the computer with color. What sort of colors did you have in mind, anyway?

Hi,
I like coffe girl's...could we add a face (perhaps the eyes are where the numbers are showing...) and the bottom should have legs and sneakers instead of a blast-off pattern. Also, no cape- he's jumping not flying or blasting off. Thanks coffee girl!

As for colors, we probably shouldn't stray far from golds, silvers, beiges and/or blacks for fear of looking like a toy...

Hi,
I like that a lot!
Could we make it a litle more serious and a little less toy?
Maybe the buttons could be black instead of red and the hat could be one color instead of rainbow?
Could the display (currently blank/green) instead say a number like $125.00 ?
Thanks a lot - it looks great.
Other designers: please feel free to post your ideas

Both are great and I very much appreciate all the work.
I am choosing graphixparanoid as it is very much in line with what I had in mind.
Coffe girl you do excellent work and I'm sure we'll be using you soon..
Graphix I do have one or two very small changes that we can make in revisions. Thanks again to everybody that gave it a shot!

Hi,
I would like 2 changes:
First, I think it still looks a little too much like a toy.. perhaps changing the overall color from orange to either gray or beige (kind of like the color of a computer) and the hat could also become more serious (perhaps with a dollar sign).
The second change I would like is the open drawer should have money in it (1s,5s, 10s, 20s).
I am very happy with it but I believe these changes will improve it.
Thanks
Chris

Okay, I prefer the one prior to this last change (orange colors).
Please drop money into that one (must be 1's, 5's and 20's) and then I'll be all set.
I need all the files including the source files.
Thanks again. You are very talented!
