I'm looking for a cool logo that could be used in brochures, powerpoint and possibly T-Shirts for a church father son campout in August. We are going to be camping out so an outdoor design (pine trees, hills, etc) would be nice. I would also like the logo to show a hiker holding a cross as a hiking stick if at all possible. Outdoor colors (green and brown) are some of the colors I would like to have included. I would also like it to say: Take a hike! Romans 8:1 Father/Son Campout. This contest is to end on July 15 at 12:00 pm eastern time. I'm excited about this camp out and looking forward to the cool logo you design for it!

Kentucky Wildcat fan, eh? *waves howdy to my neighbor in the tri-state*
I had a lot of fun with this logo.. lots of different directions we can take. Notice the footprint as the exclamation point in "Take a Hike!".
Also the cross is meant to also signify a compass.
I look forward to hearing your comments!

Hey! Thanks for designing some logos for me!
Ed: Like the way it is laid out and looks good, like the idea of the two guys just not sure if I like the way they look, I also would like to see what it would look like with different fonts for the words.
Sherice: Hey neighbor! Interesting, very interesting. . .Not what I originally had in mind but I think I like it. I can tell you had a lot of fun with it! It looks good! I like the father and son a lot. The father's leg looks a little off though, can we work on that? I like the cross signifying a compass to and the exclamation point being a foot print. Good idea! I would like to see what else you can do with the fonts on the "take a hike." I'm not sure if I like how the words start big, get smaller, then get big again. I would also like to see what the Romans 8:1 and the Father/Son Campout look like with different fonts. Could you also try moving the Father/Son Campout to the top and making it bigger and make the Romans 8:1 smaller? I would like to see how that looks. Overall though, very creative and I really like where you are going with it! :D

Hey there,
Sure I can make those changes. I'll get something back to you later this afternoon.

Thought I posted the revisions, and just realized that I hadn't! Sorry about the delay!
This was taken from a screenshot (hence the little yellow tag in the upper corner). The actual image was too large to post here. Don't worry, I plan on putting the cross/compass back in .. Did you still want it over the father and son's heads, or somewhere else?
I also put some faded footprints up the side to give it that rugged hiking look :)

Wow! You ppl do excellent work! I am impressed!
Sparkie: Hey! Excellent work on the changes! I like where it is going. As far as the cross/compass, I am all for still using it. Let's add it in there and see where it looks the best.
ElKootcho: Nice. I like how you showed what it looks like on the T-Shirt. Questions for ya, could you make the "Father Son Campout" a little bigger? Also could you try and change the colors of the words at the bottom or would it take away it? Just thought I would try and experiment a little to see how it looks B)

Some changes to my earlier post. Please note that the logo contains 4 colors so check with your local vendors for printing costs. (of course you should do that before selecting any logo) :D

Hey kywildcat,
Just had a thought... When you print these on T-shirts, I thought it might be interesting to have the cross-compass on the front pocket, and the father/son hiking image on the back. What do you think?

I notice that most of these entries are quite colorful (mine included). Have you spoken with any vendors (printing, silk screening) regarding associated costs? Do you have color limitations that we are not meeting?

A little adjustments...with a t-shirt mock up and how it would appear in black in white (greyscale)

Hey everyone!
I spoke with a lady today about screen printing. She mentioned that I check with you all to make sure that these logos are able to be screen printed. . .whatever that means. Also, I got prices too. I can go with 4 colors but 3 colors would be good. Honestly I don't know what some of these great logos would look like with just three or four colors. I think that El Kootcho's latest logo looks great with just the four colors. Is it possible to try it with three?
Sparkie, if I go with yours as it is now, I may just not do t-shirts. I don't know though. . .is it possible to narrow down the colors and still make the logo look good?
FTIGraphix: I like the second logo better than the first one. Same thing with Sparkies, is there something we can do to narrow down the colors?

Down to 3 colors. You could add the impression of more by using a colored shirt

Sure! I've narrowed it down to four colors.
Here is the father/son graphic.. I actually think it makes them look more like father and son :)

Happy Monday!
ElKootcho: I really like what you have done by narrowing it down to the three colors, you're right, the colored t-shirts do accent it a lot! If I go with yours, could I get the logo in all the different colors you have shown me?
Sparkie: Looks great! Looks like you narrowed it down to five colors instead of four. Am I counting them right? Also, does the new design include the words?
FTIGraphix: Looks better without the the background. Good work!
contest ends tommorrow!

Hello :)
Yes, the design does indeed include the words, the footprint exclamation point, and the compass cross - all of the original elements in the first design I posted, but with the revised fonts.
Does the printing company count black as a color? (some do, some don't). If that were the case, then yes, there are five..but I could narrow it down more if I need to, that won't be a problem.
Thanks!

All the color optons will be sent if so desired. Not a problem.

Contest is over! Thank you everyone for all your hard work and excellent logos. It was a hard decision to make but we have made the decision to award Sparkie the prize. All of you please look for me again in a couple of weeks cause I am going to have another logo designed and I love the work that you all did. Sparkie, I want to go with the 4 color logo you posted last but have it include the fading footprints, etc. I also like the idea of including the cross separately. What do I need to do from here?
