We are in need of an informational brochure (8.5 x 11", 2-sided, tri-fold) for an outpatient physical therapy clinic. The written material is pretty much ready. We would certainly like to incorporate our company logo. This will ultimately be printed as a slick, 4-color brochure (will probably use an online printing service such as Vistaprint) Our logo color is a PMS purple. I can check the #, not sure at the moment. (It may actually be included on the attachment) Not sure whether I need to include the type now or later??

Would like something that will obviously stand out, contemporary & professional-looking. Also, not sure whether we would like to use our own photos, stock photos, or no photos... hoping for help on this matter from the designers as to what will work the best.

$150.00, deadline 12-20-05

Please let me know if additional info. is needed.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,
It would be great if you could post your logo in vector format and the document with the actual copy of the brochure :)
if you would like for us to use some of your actual photos, please include them also in a zip file. It would be great if those photos would be high resolution.
Also, whit type of file will you require for the final artwork?

Thank you,
Virgil.

Thanks for your inquiry Virgil.

Not sure I can convert to "vector" format. What exactly is this and how do I do it? I will go ahead and attach all the logo files I have and hope you can use them. (The logo was designed by the outpost.)

Also, not sure about printing specs. Do I need to contact Vistaprint and ask them now?

Tried earlier to send a Microsoft Word doc with pictures included, but would not let me upload. Will try again without pics so you will at least have the text for the brochure (there still may be some minor changes). Wanted to get the designers' opinions on whether to use "stock" photos, clip art, our own pictures, or just graphics to convey our message and look professional and contemporary at the same time.

THANKS! Let me know what else is needed.

Jennifer

Attached is 1 file of the logos. I'm having trouble uploading the others due to the file size.

(I'm having trouble uploading some of my artwork/logo files ( zip files). Getting a message stating that the files are too large. Will try to separate them to make them smaller. If anyone can suggest how to do this easily, please let me know!
THANKS!

Medigraph,

Thanks so much for you submission. Looks good. Here are my first thoughts. I like the use of the color and gradation in the background, and the figure from the logo faded on the back panel. I have added an attachment to the above message "pages from logos-3..." which is our business card. This is how our logo appears on our other printed materials and would like to keep this consistent. Unless of course any better, brilliant ideas come up. Ha, Ha!

I do like the way you've made the subheadings stand out, but not in love with the typeface or the color used. (what about green???) Also, for the quotes at the bottom, back right panel, would like to have some sort of "newsprint" typeface??? I would prefer for the patient's names at the bottom of their comments be in black, and smaller type (not as conspicuous).

THANKS AGAIN!! :)

P.S. Looking forward to seeing any other submissions!! :D

Thanks so much for the two new submissions.

Several things I like about Imot's design: the simple background, the subtle (repeated) background headings, the way the "logo man" is bleeding off the page, and the way the reverse type looks on the darker background.

For some reason, I'm not in love with the italic or slanted typeface. I do like the way it makes theses headings stand out, but wonder if there is another typeface that would do the same??

I would also be interested in seeing the "logo man" full-size on the first page, but still somewhat subdued in the background.

Thanks for your submission Djaka!

I like the way you used the white "bubbles" against the purple background and the white "side bars". These really make the text stand out and I think easier to read. Don't care for the swirly lines in the background, but I do really like the "logo man" on the center of the fold. That puts him on two pages, but without being overbearing.

I would like to add the following "quotation" after the other 2 that read "Medical acceptance....", and "Nonsurgical treatment....".

"Even in those who have had surgery, exercise should play a central role in the post-operative plan.."
The Physician & Sports Medicine (Aug. 1997)

I really like the chartreuse green color used for the orthodontic stationery package, currently in this forum. Would like to see something like that with the purple???? THANKS!!

Djaka,
I'm really starting to like this design! The back is great with the logos coming in as shadows. I think with this design we may not want to include photos at all, just the map. I also like the ovals taken from the spine, repeated on the one panel. There is something about the front cover that is not as impressive as the rest. I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe you can come up with something? Otherwise, very impressive!! Thanks!

Medigraph,
Maybe I'm steering you in the wrong direction, but I don't the second color. Sorry :( But thanks for the attempt!

I agree with you about the front cover,
I'll try to revise that this weekend.

Hi Djaka,

I do like this cover much better. I like the positioning of the man in the background, but not sure about the lines. It looks a little "busy", or like there is too much going on. Could he appear as a shadow like he does on the opposite side of this panel? Maybe even just the right half of the image, as the left half is done on the opposite side? (Although this might mess up the "specialists..." title since it is centered.) The oval with our name might be OK without the ring around it. Definitely like the use of the darker colors with white type though! Getting much closer!! THANKS!!

Thanks so much to everyone for submitting some good designs for our brochure! Your work is certainly appreciated, and I have chosen Djaka's design for our project.

Congrats Djaka! Still think we need some minor revisions to the front cover only. I assume our discussion will continue in the "revisions forum"?? I'll wait to address this after the forum is moved.

Thanks again to everyone for entering. I love DesignOutpost and will continue to use this site in the future and have recommended it to several my patients who are business owners needing such services!! :D

Hi Jennifer,
Since we have moved to revision forum, what kind of revision do you need for the front page?
thank you
:)

Hi Djaka,
Sorry about not responding promptly. I've been out of the office for the holidays. I'm not sure about the front cover. I definitely like the "shadowed" logo better than the lines, but I still think there is too much going on. Maybe the way you had the one logo man centered in the middle, but shadowed?? Also not sure about the way the oval with our logo inside is "lop-sided"? I don't know if I'm giving you enough direction or not, hope so. I think the main problem is it's just too "busy", maybe something more simple??

Also, not sure if you got my email about the map, but is there any way I could fax it to you, this would be the easiest. I don't have it on any files, but could possibly get it from my printer if I can't fax or mail it to you.

More than likely I'll be using Vistaprint to get it printed. Their specifications are listed on their website vistaprint.com (http://)

THANKS AGAIN!!

these are several options for the cover.
If you have any comment, let me know :)

I also have checked the vistaprint website and after you agree with the design I'll convert them to the vistaprint format.

Hi Djaka,

Really like the revisions!! Especially "b". We are definitely almost there! Can I see what "b" would look like without the little man like you did it in "a", but with the same font size? If it's not a lot of trouble maybe one version with the "Spectrum" font size bigger, as it is in "a" and one smaller like it is in "b"? I definitely like the white typeface for "Specialists in Spine & Orthopaedics", but would like to see what it would look like with the darker background logo image, like that in "a", but with the same positioning on the page as it is. Hope this makes sense. And by the way, FABULOUS JOB!! I think the cover is really coming together. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We've been waiting to get this done for a long time and getting more and more excited about it. :D

P.S. Did you get my question about the map?? Can I fax or mail it to you, or do I need to be working on getting it to a file from the printer? Let me know. THANKS AGAIN!!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Actually I've sent you through private message about the map.
I think faxing is not good idea, since I live in the other side of the earth ;). If you have digital camera maybe you can shoot the map, and upload the file. make sure that the image is in focus and not too blurred (if you shoot from short distance maybe you can use the macro funtion).
thank you..
I'm working the cover revision right now and will submit that today.

I'm will try to upload a Google map to you to see if you can work with it. Thanks. If this doesn't work I'll try what you suggested with the camera.

I think the cover is great!! Think I like the version on the left, but with the smaller font size for "Spectrum", like that on the right. Will let you know soon, but think the design is GREAT!

I think I'm having a problem with our server right now, but will get the map to soon...... I hope.

Hi Djaka,

Not sure if you can work from this, but here is a map from Google. The outlying boundaries we would like to show up in the map are Hwy. 400, Hwy 120. Our location is obviously where the red arrow/dot is. So if we can get in the major roads/hwys. surrounding it, that would be great. Let me know if you can work with this, or if it will be too much work!

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Djaka,
Have decided on Version "e" for the cover! No more revisions!

Also, would like to add the directions to appear in the space available above the map. I've attached a file with these.

Not sure what Vistaprint's specs are, but hope you can provide files to me in vector format so that if we need changes in the future they can be made easily???

THANKS AGAIN!!

By the way, where exactly is "the other side of the earth"??
Just curious.
