I need a logo design for my firm,
Manhattan Commercial Equities, Inc. Good for business cards, web site etc. We are a full service brokerage and commercial real estate consulting firm.
I'm looking for something very NYC, but stoic and heartless, If you can follow my meaning. I've posted a $150 prize, and would love to have a logo ready as soon as I can. Any questions, feel free to ask, happy designing.

Hi and welcome to DO :D
The first question would be - what is the deadline for your project? Without the deadline, the designers can't plan their work, so it's a necessary bit of information :)
Second: there's a set of typical questions that let us know more about the nature of your business: http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7819
It would be great if you posted your answers to these questions here :)
And if you want to get the most out of your project, you may want to read our tips on this page: http://www.designoutpost.com/content/view/22/25/
Thanks in advance and good luck with your project! :D

I would like to have a logo chosen within the next 2 weeks, so figure by or before Christmas Eve. My target audience, my client base is a group of very wealthy and powerful captains of industry quite literally. I don't want to overwhelm them, I want something by way of logo that conveys diligence, and security with their interests, without looking like its trying too hard. A good example of a logo is the Vornado Realty Trust Logo, it's pretty simple, but pretty powerful as well. A large part of my job entails finding deals that are not on the market, so I need a sense of real professionalism, that can be translated well on business cards, ads and web work and letterhead. Something that can stick with me as the company evolves from strictly brokerage, to a multifaceted full service realty company addressing everything from sales, to consulting, to development both here and abroad. In essence I want something that is flexible, but strong and classic. Any other questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Hi Jennifer,
I really like the symbol you came up with, and of the two I think I'm partial to the text with the symbol as the direction I want to go in. If you could come up with some other variations of this style, I think that is our ticket, try something with some red accents, but I like it.

P.S. Jennifer, the only problem I have with the current symbol is that it is too similar to Eastern Consolidated, if you want to see theirs, go to www.easternconsolidated.com, but if you can make something similar, but unique, we are there.

I think this is a very strong symbol that would expand well as the business grows.

Hello
When I think of Manhattan and the powerbrokers of the world it conveys images of the wealthy and there lifestyles, I’ve try to portray this in a strong mark that has a slight lean towards yachting that the elite are sure to relate to.IMO

I really love all of them, and I think we'll be in a position to make a final decision this week. I would like to see some options where the "Commercial Equities" portion of the title is expressed as much as the "Manhattan" part. I like them all, and if there is any more symbols that everyone can come up with, I'd like to see them, but across the board this is going in the right direction, forgive me for not addressing one specific design at this point, just yesterday there were only 2 options, today there are 10, but they all are quite workable. I'm thoroughly happy with the ideas at this point, give me some more options, and I'll choose a winner.
Regards,
Husein

Only problem Fabian, is that it looks almost exactly like the symbol that Sprint and Nextel are using now.

Thank you for pointing that out, I was very unaware of the two mentioned logos.
Modified my concept slightly, it now uses the strikes of the “M” as the mark and still captures the yachting aspect

Fabian
I have a concept incoporated of M manhattan :)

All very cool still, but please make all adjustments on new ideas where the second part of the title "Commercial Equities" is the same scale as Manhattan

Try spacing out the 3 marks

so that they are evenly distributed...also I like the M concept of the building, anyway it could be more uniform, like overlay the company name over the symbol...

oK, I like the top one, with the blue M...I need it in vector format, and any other applicable formats you can get it to me in, so I can use it for everything I need to use it for.
