New startup company seeks logo. The company is creating digital music lessons for the guitar and possibly for other instruments in the future. The company is focusing on initially serving the younger generation (ages 11-40) of the visually impaired and blind. We want an image of a hip, rock-n-roll type of company that provides audio music lessons as well as downloadable versions of popular songs that customers can play their guitar, drums or keyboards (or vocals) along with. These songs can optionally not include the instrument that the customer is playing (for example, a U2 song that does not have the lead guitar track included can be downloaded for a guitarist to practice with).

This is a good first entry. I like the one with the blue in the "g" best. I think it is a tad "chunky", although I can't get my head around what is giving me that impression. Any way you can make it a little more streamlined? I do like the music notations embedded in the design.

Colors can be whatever you want, but this gives you an idea. I look forward to your feedback.

Thanks,

Cindy,

A little angelic, I think. We are really looking more for a logo that represents a cool, hip type of company.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone that has submitted designs so far. Several of them look very promising. The the "Tab" part of our name Talking Tabs stems from the word Tablature. Tablature is a method for learning the guitar that focuses on where fingers are placed on a guitar to make chords/notes. It does not require the player to be able to read traditional music.

I wanted to see if some of you could create versions of your logos that incorporate guitar strings, tablature symbolism or other guitar concepts in your designs. A guitar has 6 strings for those of you who don't play. The layout for tablature music is easily found on the Internet.

Thanks!

Gig,

I like the idea of the font overlaying the music bar. Could you try this concept with some different fonts? Also, maybe change the note symbolism on the T's to some sort of guitar symbol. As I mentioned in a previous post, our company is based on Tablature music and not on traditional music, so notes are not really incorporated in our products.

Fabian,

I like this design - especially the guitar on the front of the design. I am not sure what the arrows symbolize in the font, and maybe they are only there for a different look. Not complaing, just wondered if there was a specific reason for the arrows.

Could you submit a few designs that revolve around this core design? Maybe move the guitar around, straighten out the font, and try some other font forms?

Thanks!

All,

This is a basic view of what tablature looks like. Each line represents a string on the guitar, and the numbers represent which fret to push your finger on. Frets are the little vertical "speed bumps" that are lined up along the neck of the guitar where chords are played.

Sorry for the multiple feedback posts. The "Talking" part of our name refers to the fact that all of our lessons are purely audio - via the spoken word. Embedded in the lessons, of course, are cool music tracks from popular artists that our customers get excited about.

You may want to consider a verbal theme (mouth, speaking, ears, audio, etc) as a different way to express what we do.

Fabian,

One last request. We like the logo you designed with the guitar on the left that also has the bolder font. We don't like the arrows in the name, and would like to see the design with the font not going up and down.

Is that possible to complete before our deadline tomorrow?

Thanks,

Kirstie

Gig,

We like this latest design a lot. Could you please provide a version with an electric guitar outline instead? It would be great if you could also add three tuning knobs on the bottom of the "B" of the word TABS as well.

Finally, could you provide a couple of different color schemes that you feel make the TalkingTabs name stand out a little more?

Thanks,

Kirstie

Designers,

Thanks so much for all of your efforts!! There were so many good entries that we found it very hard to select just one.

We decided to move forward with Gig's last minute entry that had TalkingTab's name along the fretbar of the guitar.

Fabian - you were a very, very close second!!

Gig, please see my last entry for a few changes we would like to see before closing this out. We would like a few options with colors - especially bold colors.

Thanks to all!!

Gig,

I haven't heard from you since we selected your logo, so am assuming you are taking some time off for the holidays. I was hoping we could get some minor revisions to it before wrapping up. I will be out of the country until Jan 6th, so hopefully you can respond by the time I return.

1. We wanted to see a version with an electrical guitar outline instead of the acoustic guitar that is currently in the design.

2. We wanted 3 tuning knobs on the bottom of the guitar neck to complement the ones you currently have on the top

3. We wanted to see some bolder, alternative color schemes. We like rich reds, deep blues, golds, etc.

4. Please be sure to focus on making the TalkingTabs name stand out from within the logo so that it can clearly be read. Also, please show us 1-2 options with the "Tabs" part of the name in a different color than "Talking"

That's it!

Kirstie

Oops - didn't see this latest submisson. Sorry...

It will still be after Jan 6th before I can respond. I need others in the company to review this, and they are off on a holiday break right now.

Hang in there!

Gig,

I am back from my vacation, and would like to wrap this up in the next day or two.

The tan interior is too pale, and the outline colors of some of them are too pale as well. We are looking for deep, bold colors for both the outlines and the interiors. The version that is all black is fine, so we would like a high rez, all black version to be included in the final package.

I would like to see the following options:

1. an all black guitar with the interior part that is tan in your designs above turned to a deep red.

2. a guitar with a deep red outline and a black interior. The contrast colors for "Talking" and "Tab" can be either red and black, or red and the orange that you currently use in #3 above. Could we see both options?

3. a guitar with a deep, rich blue as the outline and black as the interior and contrast color for "Talking" and "Tab"

4. A version with a much deeper green than the one you used in #4 above.

5. Other variations of deep, rich colors that you think would look good for a hip, rock-n-roll type image.

Thanks!

Kirstie

Gig,

These look much better. One minor change and we are done. The gang decided they like the three knobs off of the bottom, which was what you originally submitted. We still want the knobs on top of the neck of the guitar.

We are ready to go with that minor change. Can we have high-rez versions of all of the colors above as well as a version that is all black? This is my first time using Design Outpost, so not sure if you email us the designs or send them another way. Please advise.

Thank you so much for your patience while we were off on holiday travels.

Best,

Kirstie

Ok Kirstie, I'll change the knobs & will send you soon all of color version with black inside, not matter.
But I think will be better for me if you tell me which color the best :)

Gig,

I am worried you may have misunderstood my request. I would like all of the color schemes you included in the last submission, and also want a version that is all black.

And yes, I would appreciate your feedback on which one you think is the best option.
