My company is involved in the outdoor industry. Specifically hunting and fishing. We are coming out with a new product. We have recently acquired license to a sell a new chemical preservative that is used in the medical industry to preserve human urine for DNA and other tests. The chemical protects urine (and other biodegradable fluids) from deterioration due to bacteria. The Chemical solves common problems with biodegradable fluids such as.
• shelf life
• protein breakdown
• ammonia build
• Resistance to high temperatures.
We are planning to use the preservative in two Industries.
1. The first is the hunting industry where we will use it to preserve deer urine.
(Why would anyone in there right mind want to preserve deer urine you ask?) Good Question I get that a lot. Hunters us deer urine to attract animals while hunting. In the USA alone it is estimated to be a 40 million dollar per year industry. Right now most of the urine that hunters buy and use has already degraded to the point where it does not smell like urine to deer. The only current way to keep urine fresh is to freeze it. This chemical eliminates the need to freeze.
How the product will be used – Hunters would buy urine from other companies. Once they have the urine, they will then buy a separate product from us that just contains the preservative. The customer then adds the preservative to the urine. Now what they have is a preserved deer lure that can withstand high temperatures and protect against ammonia build up and protein breakdown.
2. The Second Industry is the fishing industry. This would be used on bait.
o The fisherman could inject the preservative into some type of bait. This would stop the bait from breaking down due to bacteria in the water. Thus, the bait will smell more natural and attract more fish.
Right now I am looking for a name and a tag line for the preservative. I would like a common theme that could be used as sort of a brand name and later split off to both industries.
Notes on the Name & Slogan
• The technology is high-tech so the name should portray that as well.
• Would really help if the name could explain how to use the product and/or what it does.
• Obviously want something the customer can remember
• Something that has potential for a good package design.
So far the preservative has been called many different things. (DNA/RNA Protect, Scent Protect, and Scentrx.). We need something better.
