Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
> Bandit Bib™
What type of product or service do you offer?
> This is a small, stylish, and practical bib to keep babies dry from drool while looking stylish at the same time. With easy Velcro fasteners.
How long have you been in business?
> Just starting
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
> Hip image (the logo and product); clear what the product is (stylish bib to keep baby dry) and who it is for (babies)
What are your long term goals?
> Sell bibs profitably, move into a broader line of products later
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
> December 21, 2005
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
> None
Who would you like to add to your audience?
> Moms and others who buy hip and practical items for babies; distributors; retailers
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
> simple; elegant; hip/cool;
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
> We don’t want to use lots of blue or pink because that implies boy or girl. The bib itself should stand out probably, solid red perhaps but we are not tied to that. We are open to suggestions. Perhaps something with fun and color would be good.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
> Should be baby’s head and shoulders (probably wearing a shirt) with our bib. See attached photos for bib. Image of a baby with our bib which is small, triangular, and might look like a bandana from far away. See attached pictures. The baby should be happy and smiling. We came up with the name Bandit Bib because the bib’s shape makes it look a little like the baby is wearing a bandana and so it is kind of western like a cowboy or a bandit. Bandit also expresses that we are breaking out of the traditional mold of boring baby products. Might be interesting for the baby to wear cowboy hat, but this might not be a good idea – undecided – it might take focus away from the bib itself and miscommunicate the brand.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
> hip and stylish; nontraditional; practical; new and young (Ikea vs. Ethan Allen; Mini Cooper vs. Ford Taurus)
What is your tagline or slogan?
> Keeps Baby Dry and Dandy
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
> We have hip bibs that are small and look cool but do a great job of collecting drool so baby’s clothes remain dry and they are easy to use.
Where will your new logo be used?
> business cards, product packaging (something like a hangar) and website
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
> There are no competitors that we know of for this product in the US. We do like the Manhattan Toy logo. We also like the Zutano line. The Zooper logo is cool, although the website is kind of boring.
List competitive URLs if possible
> http://www.manhattantoy.com/
> http://www.zooperstrollers.com/
What sets you apart from your competitors?
> existing bibs are either practical but ugly or they are large and designed for mealtime to catch food, some have strings etc that are not practical
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
> hip and practical
Thank you!! We are very excited to be using design outpost for the first time and to get a great first logo for this brand!
