To answer the apprentice question, an apprentice on DO is someone who is working up to be on the Design Team, Palmer kindly set up this position for those who applied to be on the Design Team but didn't have enough samples in their portfolio to meet the requirements but had potential.

Like myself I've been designing for about 5-6 years but as an In-house designer for a Medical company and when I decided to take the big step and venture into the world of Freelance (best move ever, never been busier) I was unable to add the work I had done into my portfolio. Tho most of my work consisted of adverts, posters, mail shots, label kits for the products, product logos and the company web site I didn't have samples of company logos or other web site designs.

What ever status I am its a pleasure to be on this site and have the opportunity to work with some great designers.. ;)

As for all them members some ppl just sign up to forums just for the hell of it and never post..don't ask me why :blink:

Michael answered the Apprentice answer. Regarding why certain members don't post, a lot of the regular members are designers who are awaiting an invitation to join the team. The ones who are on the team and have not posted, who knows, maybe they never check their mail :rolleyes: It's a bit ridiculous to apply, get accepted and then never participate. It's their loss though, I don't think it's my job to go chasing after them. Eventually I just take them off the team and tell them to apply at a later date if they want to participate.
