We would like a logo designed for a technology and business news publication with the URL http://www.midwestbusiness.com.
A year ago, we commissioned Design Outpost (thread is here (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5847)) to design a logo for Midwest.biz, which is attached. Our current thinking is to design a new logo for MidwestBusiness.com similiar to the Midwest.biz logo. Nonetheless, we do encourage a variety of new submissions and new thinking.
One improvement we are looking for with a MidwestBusiness.com logo is a more legible tagline especially when reduced to a width of about 200 pixels.

Think the Midwest region. Think technology. Think business. We like the current color scheme of this Midwest.biz logo as our new site is designed around it. We look forward to seeing your ideas!

Hello :)
Here is a new layout based on the original concept.
I wasn't sure if the tagline was the same or not.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,Paula

Thank You for filling out your Project Description :)
It would be great if you could give specific feedback on the entries you've recieved so that the designers know if they are headed in the right direction.
Thanks,Paula

Thanks for the tip, Paula.
In general, we are trying to avoid usage of the star from the previous logos. While the star can be used as a replacement character for the "dot" in MidwestBusiness"."com, we wouldn't want anything more prominent than that.
Going in reverse chronological order:
#5
- Needs to use "MidwestBusiness.com"
- Color scheme not bright enough (too much blue)
- Star too prominent
#4
- I like the approach but would like to see additional variations
- "B" character looks awkward
- Star is too big
#3
- Nice color stream
- Not sold on the ribbon below the URL (looks a bit too political); perhaps try with another Midwest-related image
- Have the star slightly smaller

Thanks again for the submission. A few tweaks:
-While the windmill is very creative and visually appealing, it is not really indicative of the Midwest. How about Great Lakes or something similar to the map on the original Midwest.biz logo (see above).
-Lets go with a traditional "." rather than the star in the dotcom. Additionally, we would like it to read on one line MidwestBusiness.com rather than having the ".com" read below.
We look forward to seeing the submissions. We are just about there.

Paula,
Can we see the icon from your 4:40 post with the way you did the "Business Technology News" in the 4:41 post? Also, can we have the map hone in more on the Midwest? Thanks!

Hi,
This is great! Before we approve, we would like to see how this would look with a width of 200 pixels. We want to replace the logo for ePrairie.com on this page - http://www.eprairie.com/ but want a more specific idea as to what it will look like.
