Hi-

We are in need of a multipurpose logo than can be used on a website, street sign, letterheads, business cards, t-shirts, wherever...

The logo will be for a campground in New Orleans, LA. The name of the campground?

New Orleans Campground

Site Address: www.neworleanscampground.com

The logo should provide a sense of comfort - a "home-away-from-home" sort of a feel. It should be gender-neutral and inviting to all.

Please do not let the current site colors affect your design decisions. The blue body and brown navigation can be easily changed to match the winning design.

We appreciate the work of all participants and hope to make a decision by January 20th. If a design stands out, we will choose it and end the thread. If no design has been chosen by the 20th and the thread is still relatively active, we will wait for other entries.

Again, we appreciate your participation.

:)

Thanks for your submissions!

(I'll go off on a tangent first thing to get it out of the way :)
Each time I visit design outpost, I'm just amazed at the level of talent of the folks who reply to all the design requests...)

OK - here goes:

Aaron - I like it. Simple, clean...sort of a 70's retro feel...
Gig - I like the colors, the font, the green swipe but... (I hate to say it...) The first thing I thought of when I saw the swirling circle was a satellite picture of Katrina :( - sorry. Please post again :)
Eziey - I like the warm colors, the depth...the only thing is that New Orleans is in a flat area (I don't know how well the mountains will fit in) and the campground is going to be in a metropolitan area that caters to travel trailers and motorhomes (ie no cabins).

Thanks very much for your submissions. You're all very talented and I would really appreciate some other ideas if my comments have helped clarify...

Here's a new idea. I focused on the "home-away-from-home" concept. I've used a sleeping woman and a starry night to reflect a peaceful sleep at the Campground. Usually, people find it difficult to sleep in other places and change beds :)

Comments are welcomed.

Thank you.
-Ruairi

P.S. I know you said you want it to be gender neutral, but I think a sleeping woman is a strong message for both men and women.

Great! I like 'em!

I'm going to need to point these new designs out to the final decision-makers :)

If they want to see any changes, I'll pass them along to you. Otherwise, we'll name a winner in the next couple of days.

Thanks everyone!

Hi everyone-

First of all - thanks for all your submissions - they're all very good and appeal to me in their own unique way.

The campground owners have decided to choose Aaron's design.

Congratulations, Aaron!

With that said, they were hoping that you could add some shading or shadowing to (their words) "spiff it up a little". Obviously, they like the design but feel it could have just a little more 'umph' (again, their words.) So... could you do that once this thread has been moved to the revisions forum?

Thanks! and, again, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO REPLIED! :)

Thanks Blair!

Let me see what I can do to spiff it up a bit...I'll repost soon.

Thanks again,

Aaron

Without changing the layout, here's a way to add depth to the design.

Think this is closer to what they had in mind?

Thanks,

Aaron

Aaron-

Thanks for the 'spiff up' :D

I wanted to let you know that any delays in responding is because I have to copy and paste the thumbnails to the guys who are making the final decision and then reply back to you.

Just wanted to let you know ;)

Aaron-

The owners want to go ahead and use what you've got. We all think that you've done a really great job of coming up with a tasteful design that appeals to a large audience.

To get this finished up (and to get you paid ;) ), I'd like you to send the files in a png format that preserves the layers. If the owners decide they want to see a different color combination, then I'll be able to modify the design through Fireworks (I don't have Photoshop :( )

We would appreciate if you sign a release that transfers ownership of the design to the campground.

I'll take a look at the instructions in case I'm forgetting something in regards to getting this finished up so you can get your money.

Here's the release form: http://www.designoutpost.com/illustrations.htm
Could you fill it out and snail mail it to:

end edit----

Thanks again-

Hi Blair,

Does Fireworks edit Illustrator files? I did this in Illustrator, so giving you the source files in Illustrator would seem to make better sense to me. Want to send me your email address in a Private Message and I'll email them back to you as a test?

Just let me know,

Aaron
