[Project Complete] Deadline Feb 4th - Children's Museum Needs Logo - $40

We are a Children's Museum in California - our visitors include more than 15,000 children (primarily ages 0-5) annually. For more info about our mission & organization, see www.kidzonemuseum.org.

We are opening a "resale boutique" (think high-end thrift store) where all the profits will go straight back into the museum.

The name of the shop will be "Treasure Chest". We want to make customers aware of the non-profit connection to the museum, so we would like to incorporate the museum's logo into our shop logo. Attached is the museum's logo.

We have mocked up an idea that incorporates our logo and the Treasure Chest theme (just a very rough idea – not a big fan of the font on the chest or the items coming out, but it’s a start). It is also attached.

We are totally open to other suggestions, though. Thanks in advance for your help!

I just upgraded this to $40. Wish that I could do more, but we are opening on a very tight budget! I hope that the very rough logo one of our volunteers created didn't turn everyone off - we are completely open to all designs.

Thanks, Kassi! I really like where you are going. I ran it by my committee, and here is some feedback:

- Instead of the rainbow, which doesn't translate great in black and white and adds printing costs, can we try for something more like you were heading with the stars instead? Maybe a pixie dust type look?

- Our original logo has a balloon, which I would prefer rather than the kite

- Can we change the tagline to "Benefiting the KidZone Museum" instead (current sounds a little like a separate entity)

- I get where you are going with the pirate feel to the font, but it is kind of tricky on that curve. Can I see what it would look like in a font similar to our original logo?

Hi Kristi,

Thanks for your feedback. I tried a few variations of the rainbow and stars idea.

Version 2a: I kept the easily recognizeable shape of the rainbow and made it a light silhouette.

Version 2b: I removed the rainbow altogether and created a path from the stars.

Version 2c: I incorporated the rainbow silhouette and a path of lightened stars.

I also changed the text and used a balloon in each sample.

Thanks, Kassi. I really like Version 2b (no rainbow).

A few more small things:

- Can we have the little boy running towards the chest?
- I would love to see it will the colors as close to the original as possible (background is a little more green in the original).
- Can I see Toys, Clothing, Gear in a font closer to the "Play, Learn, Grow" in the original?
- The perspective on the chest seems a little off - probably an optical illusion? Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Hi Kristi,

Here are a couple of different options based on the perspective of the chest.

Although I have never been an expert at seeing things in perspective :P , I think the main reason it looked off is because nothing else in the logo has a sense of perspective or depth. At any rate, I played around with the perspective on version 3a, and then used a simplified side angle in version 3b.

I also changed the font, flipped the boy so he's running toward the chest, and tried to match the green closer to the original.
