Admin code added by Abby - 9TE74561T7376261F
Rock Solid Urban Impact is looking for a professional logo package.(logo, 2 sided business card, and letterhead)
Rock Solid Urban Impact is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit urban development corporation that exists to motivate God’s people to transform their cities by serving its most vulnerable citizens (youth and poor) through positive loving relationships, spiritual renewal, comprehensive training, and economic empowerment. Please visit www.rsui.org
About RSUI:
Rock Solid Urban Impact exists to build a bridge between disadvantaged urban youth and those who can help them grow and succeed in life and job skills. At-risk youth have been the result of negative role models, chronic poverty, poor parenting, crime filled environments, and drug abuse. These settings have drastically hindered development among youth and have fostered poor social and life skills. Without these valuable skill sets, urban youth are faced with many challenges in order to succeed in life. Rock Solid Urban Impact exists to bridge the social gap through hands-on training and programs that relationally connect at-risk youth to vital business networking and opportunity.
The values and skill sets that will be taught are as follows: (1) Self worth- identity, positive values (2) Social skills- respect authority, conflict resolution, effective communication, forgiveness (3) Management- money, time, property, and personal environment (4) Technology- computer literacy, internet (5) Recreation- wilderness expeditions, open gym, meaningful interaction (6) Job placement- resume, business networking, appearance, job skills, and entrepreneurship.
RSUI recently purchased a community center that is equipped with 8 large classrooms, a spacious gymnasium, and full cafeteria. This will be the Urban Impact Center, a relational hub in the heart of the inner city where RSUI training and mentorship will occur.
Values we are looking for in the logo:
1. Professional - portray excellence
2. Communicate urban transformation among youth through the partnership of the business community and Rock Solid Urban Impact.
3. Creativity - Something an inner-city kid would like as well
The logo does not necessarily need to match the website. We want the artists to think out of the box. We want the logo to appeal to corporate CEO's.
This logo design is crucial to the marketing and communication of Rock Solid Urban Impact's vision and purpose. Your partnership with us in this project is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Ryan Kubicina

Thank you, but we will probably not be using any animated portraits, we are looking for something that would communicate well to the business community.
thanks, we would love to see some more ideas

Here's an idea...
The circle on the arc represents the urban youth travelling a path above the usual urban background to a successful fulfilling life.

my idea: a rising person between two mountain tops - the solid foundation for his/her growth.
idea: building homes/communities on a solid ground (mountain). The circle can represent protection, guidance.
same idea as above except the circle of protection is replaced with a stylised eye representing vision & belief in the people you work with.

We are very encouraged at the response. Here is some feedback for the projects posted;
Dave- This logo is a good start. I am not sure about the circle above the arc.- Maybe if you added an adult somehow connecting to an inner-city youth.... something that shows connectivity= transformation
Kr8tiv- V.1 -Very trendy and professional but not impactful. V.2 -Very colorful, but needs to include connectivity with the business world while having an urban feel.
Artemii- V.1 great compassion, but too soft and feminine- not urban V.2- professional, portrays no real message
NHR- like the city look but needs some tweeking. Would like something without the star.
Paula-V.1- Like the concept of the pieces coming together with a city scape. This is a great start. If we could change the colors and add connectivity with the older business person connecting with the youth, this would be a good appeal to CEO's of companies. V.2-A little too childlike. We are mentoring youth and at-risk teens.
Gig-V.1- Like the creativity but not crazy about the stick figures. Needs to appeal more towards urban transformation. V.2- Love the urban look but needs some interaction (connectivity)
Ruairi-V.1- very professional, but needs to speak louder about an urban setting that is showcasing transformation. V.2&V.3- Again very professional but does not include an inner city connection.
Thanks,
Ryan

Thanks for the feedback :)
The puzzle pieces are also suppose to represent interlocking
people.
I'll work with your feedback and adjust the pieces and the colors to better reflect "community" and post again.
Thanks ,Paula
How about something like this?

Ruairi,
We like where you are headed on version 5. You've combined a look at the city sky line while at the same time telling a relational "story".
Regarding color schemes we tend to lean toward "winter" colors as in rich blues, yellows, etc. Gold, browns (i.e. Fall colors) are not the best for us.
To all of the artists that are working on this project...we want to thank you so much...we have been serving inner city youth for quite some time...so having you lend your creativity, time, talent and energy to coming up with an inspiring visual aid that will result in people lives being changed really means a lot to us. Please keep up the good work.
Ryan,
here is a revised version. Please let me know your opinion / suggestions.
Thank you.
Ruari- Version 7 is the closest post to our desired concept. This concept communicates connectivity, and urban transformation while looking professional. We are wanting to see more concepts within this concept with color variations.
Thanks,
Ryan
kubi, is that mean ruairi as a winner? please make a clear statement or perhaps I ( or other designers) still have a posibility to submit a design?
thanks
No, this does not mean that Ruairi is the winner. We have been waiting for the right concept. We are waiting for many more submissions that portray city scapes, connectivity, and urban transformation.
Thanks,
Ryan
thank you :), so I still have this one to portray city scapes, connectivity, and urban transformation
How about something like this?
Dear Artists,
We want to reiterate that we haven't yet found exactly what we are looking for in our logo. Please keep submitting.
To Ruri: Can you make the human connection depict more compassion? And also, we are a bit concerned that those of us in the afro-american community (where our headquarters is located) may see the larger figure who is blue reaching down to the smaller figure which is black as potentially racially condescending. We in no way believe that was your intent.
Everybody...please keep us the good work!
Thanks
Ruairi, Opps...for some reason i had not seen version 8...this solves the racial issue wonderfully. thank you.
Thank you for feedback, sorry for delay and hallo again :)

Artemii - Could we see two adults walking out of the portal holding hands with a child (or youth) --between the adults. Also can you give us several more shades of blue.
Artists please keep submitting. We need more entries to make a final decision.

Did you mean black?
If yes - here it is.

could we see this with the orginal black and grey, only changing the shades of blue in the road and left side of portal, leaving the right side black. Also could we see some different style of stick figures.
Guys, we are checking daily, still looking for the winning concept, thanks for all your help.

Ruari- We would like to see version 7 but change both people black. And version 7 : changing the buildings to black and grey and the people to blue
Artemii- we need another variation of the people. Could you put a businessman outside of the portal looking in, reaching a hand towards a youth inside the portal.
Also could we see the same thing with 2 businessmen.
Here are your requested changes. Let me know if you want any other variations.
Thank you.

Artemii.
Artemii- We really like your logo, however before we give you a definite as an artist we want to make sure you can give us some different version of stick people. The people you have posted look like there going on a family vacation--we are looking for more of a compassion look that is somehow connecting to the business community.
Ruari- You are definitley not our of this one. We will choose an artist for sure in the next 2 days. Sorry for the delay in this one.
We will post a winner this week for sure! thanks for the patience!

Maybe something like this, Ryan?
Artemii.
I like the stick figures of the business men. The others look too much like a bathroom sign. Can you keep trying on this. I would like to see just one business man just a ahead of an adult and a child, looking back (one hand carrying the suitcase) --(the other hand with the business man reaching back to hold the child's hand),-- on the other side of the child have the parent holding its other hand. Thanks Artemii!

Like this, Ryan?
Artemii.
Artemi,
We are still not getting the people right. Please don't give up.
This image needs to tell a story of a group of adults helping a young person out of the poverty of inner city.
Let us try this.... How about having four adults with a youth on their shoulders. One adult can have a brief case, another adult can be wearing either a hard hat (like at construction site), or a baseball hat, the other adults can look like the parents of the youth. The group needs to be all together so we get the feel of a team effort.
The youth on the shoulders could look like they are celebrating. In your country, if someone kicks three field goals and wins the soccer game, the team might hoist (lift) that person on their shoulders and run around the field with the champion on their shoulders. Do you see this image?
thank you,
Ryan

I'll keep trying to do something with four adults istead of three thoug.

Thanks for trying Artemii....we are getting closer...but the youth looks like they are flying in the air...its a bit funny :)
Maybe we need to have four adults (two on each side...holding the hand of the child who is in the middle...all of them are walking together out of the circle.
please keep trying...

kubi, is there something else I can do for you?
Artemii.
Artemii- we like what you have posted so far.... could we see a few more versions of the business card and letterhead before we pick one.
In america our envelopes have the logo and return address in upper left hand corner, and put the posted address in the middle of the envelope...nothing goes in the upper right corner--that is where the postage goes. THanks for including that.
Thanks,
Ryan
