[Project Complete] Due Feb 24th: New logo for pediatric dental office - $250.00

We are looking for a new logo to represent our pediatric dental office. We would like a sleek, clean, professional look that represents our state of the art pediatric dental office. A logo which is easily recognizable, reproducible and that is limited to no more than three colors would be ideal. Our target audience are children and their parents. The office name, Alameda Pediatric Dentistry, may be incorporated into the logo.

Other interesting points:
• Located on the island of Alameda
• Serving the children of the East Bay for 30+ years
• Three doctors and a very diverse, multilingual staff

Hi Bill, Thanks for your submission. I think the smiling tooth is generic as many other offices and companies use something similar. Perhaps something capitalizing on the fact that Alameda is an island (one of the few places in the Bay Area that actually has a beach) and that the East Bay is very diverse.

Hi Caroline, Thanks for your submission. Overall, our initial impression is positive, we like the font for "pediatric dentistry" and the colors. Is the face on the left supposed to be the end of a dental mirror? I am unsure whether people would recognize it as a dental mirror if that is the case. Currently, we use a circular shape card for appointments and are curious how a logo like this could be used.

Caroline- Not wild on the tooth half in the water. Perhaps having some simply drawn kids on an island with a simplified bridge in the background? From where we are located, we can see the bay bridge and sometimes, the Golden Gate bridge.

Hi Gig, Thanks for your submission. We like the bright colors, but it is more likely that people would be windsurfing or sailing as opposed to playing volleyball.

Caroline: Thanks for the revision. I think this would work better for our round cards, but I think incorporating some local/regional aspect of the practice into the logo would be more distinct.

To all: Currently we use a tooth fairy as our logo. See www.kidzteeth.net. We are contemplating a complete logo change or perhaps re-working/tightening up the original tooth fairy image.

Chris- Thanks for your designs. I'm not wild about the fonts for either design. For the first logo, the little pictures below the name may become too small when reproduced on business cards or letterhead. The second logo looks more like something for an adult dental practice.

Caroline- Could the bridge be more in the background or maybe angled so it looks like it's getting smaller in the distance?

Gig- Although there is enough wind to windsurf and sail, there aren't really many surfers (we're located in the actual bay), so no waves, really. Also, I think the wave in black and white is not so clear cut.

Bogglins- Thanks for your submission. This design is too generic and the font looks like it would be more appropriate for something related to cars. As we are appealing to both children and their parents, it would be good to convey a fun and bright image.

Eziey- Thanks for your submission, but I think your design is more suitable for an adult dental practice.


Deanna- Thanks for your design. I'm not sure it is clear that there is a beach and the figures look more like the people shapes on restroom doors. Also, "dentistry" is spelled wrong.

Titania- Thanks for a tooth fairy design! Could her hair on her right side be arranged so it's more clear where her hair is? Also, I'm not keen on the crown. I'll have more feedback once I speak with the rest of my committee.

Titania- After speaking with my committee, could the fairy's hair be more androgenous such that it is not exactly clear whether it's a male or female? Also, one person thought that the face looked like a monkey, but did like the face on your avatar. Lastly, could we see the design in blue tones as opposed to purple tones (our current logo is more light blue in color)?

eziey- Thanks for your design. I like the simplicity of the design, however, the design makes the practice look like a family practice. I.e., a practice that has children and adult patients.

Titania- Thanks for the revisions- we like the color change and the shorter hair. Could the fairy perhaps hold a wand with a tooth at the end of it compared to holding it in her hand?

Paula 23- Thank you for your submission. I like the colors, can the boy's legs be uncrossed or separated? Also, perhaps a tooth motif on the balloons. Can you also change the font for "pediatric dentistry?" to something less futuristic?

Titania- Thanks for the modifications. Could the wings be made in a different blue scale than the clothes? Also, we'd like a nose on the fairy. Lastly, could the wand be held such that it appears like the fairy is touching the top part of the last letter "A" with the wand?
