Admin code added by Abby - 7F875577H11069500
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
BR Software
(BR is my initials)
What type of product or service do you offer?
We develope and sell software, currently only software for photography, but we will also make other kinds of software in the future.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2000
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
A more professional image. Today we have a 'home made' logo that doesn't look very professional. You can see it on our web site http://www.br-software.com/
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
February 28th
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I would like a horizontal style logo, not too high.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I like the colors green and grey, but I'm open to other suggestions as well. Must work in black and white.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Would be nice with an icon that draw the thoughts towards computers or software.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
I would like to logo to communicate that we are a serious business. Reliable. Makes quality software.
Where will your new logo be used?
At the top of our web-pages, on business cards, and on letter heads.
Formats
We would like to have the logos in both vector format and PSD or TIFF formats.

Thank you very much for your submissions. We are impressed with the variety of what you have made. I have first a general comment, then I will comment on the work of each designer.
General: We feel the submissions by Vertlime and NHR are closest to what we have in mind. Many of you have included a photographic theme in the logo, but I don't think we want that. Although we currently only make photographic software, that may not be the case in the future. A computer oriented theme is more to our taste. We will later make logos for our products, for which the photographic theme will be more fitting.
So to each designer's work (in order of submission):
Vertlime: I like this one. May be the green should be a little darker. I also feels that the word "SOFTWARE" is much more visible than the word "BR". I also think the icon in front of BR is a little too big. May be the grey frame should be a little thinner.
thinkkre8tiv: First I didn't like this. Then after looking at it several times, I like it more and more. But, the Aperature symbol are used by several companies in the photographic software industry. I also feel the the word "SOFTWARE" becomes too small and will be difficult too read for smaller versions of the logo. Somehow I liked version 1 better than version 2, even though version 2 has the colors I suggested. May be a little darker green and black would be a good combination.
Medigraph: I don't think the B and R forming a camera works very well. Try replacing the camera with a computer symbol of some sort. I would also like a little more contrast between the BR and Software.
NHR: I like this one. However, I would like to see a version with the letters BR about 10% larger. I'm also a little uncertain about the placement of the "monitor" icon. How would it look on top of the text (don't know if this will work)?
djaka: I find the B and R hard to read. I think I would like to see a more computer oriented logo.
------
I hope you find my comments useful. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Best regards
Baard

Hello,
Comment on Raja Sandhu's design: I like this one. However, I think the text is a bit too small compared to the size of the graphic element. I also like the version in the lower left corner better than the main image. I don't think the gradient on the "r" works so well. Please, also remove the TM. Do you think you can show me this logo without the gradient on the "r" and approx. 50% larger text? The orange color is nice, but could you show me the same with a green color too?
To the others: I will comment on your updated designs later.
Best regards
Baard

Hello,
Thank you for your updated designs. I have printed the designs and put the on the wall and have been looking at them for a couple of days.
thinkkre8tiv:
Version 3: A very nice design. I really liked this, but somehow I don't think this will work in the business market. If we sold our software to home users only, I think I would have selected this logo. Is there anything you can do with it to make our company look more "serious" (more business oriented)?
Vertline:
Version 6 is by far the best of your suggestions. This really has potential. Looks very nice on screen, but it doesn't look so good printed. It turns out too yellow and the word "software" needs to be a stronger color. I would also like the green to be less yellow (more blue but not looking blue if you understand what I mean). However I like the general idea of this design.
NHR:
Version 1.2 didn't work as well as I had hoped. Thanks for trying. Version 1.1 isn't what I hoped either. I like your idea and I like the monitor image but I think the logo is too long. May be some other font will work better. What about the monitor standing on a line that extends below the BR Software? I'm not certain, but if you can think of something in that way that you think will work, please let me see it.
Raja Sandhu:
This time (version 1b) the icon works better, but I liked the font you used in version 1a much better. So if you can show me the text the way it's printed in 1a with the icon in 1b, I think that will be promising. The height of the two lines should be almost as high as the icon.

I thank you again for your submissions and I look forward to see more from you.
Best regards
Baard

Hello,
Thank you for the new and updated designs. Here are my comments:
Vertlime: This looks very good and is my favourite at the moment. I have no suggestions for improvements of this design.
Unorthodox: Thank you for submitting this design. I'm not too fond of the icon of this design, but I think the style and colors of the text is nice.
Raja Sandhu: The green/grey edition of version 1c looks nice. Do you think you can make a orange version of this as well, same color as you used in version 1a?
Gig: Thanx for your submission. I think this is nice, but I'm not so sure about the colors. Could you make a version where BR and the squares are (dark) green and the the "CD" and Software are grey?
To all: Sorry it takes some time before I comment on your designs. I usually prefer to look at the designs for a day or two before I comment on them. First impression and the more "long term" impression can be quite different.
Best regards
Baard
Thank you for comments, Baard. Revision coming soon.
this is my revision of V.2, I like option 3

Hello,
Thank you all for your updated submissions. I have now put them up on the wall and we will be looking at them for a couple of days. I hadn't expected so many good designs and you have made this decision hard. We have a couple of favourites, but any new designs are of course still welcome. We will make our decision over the weekend.
Best regards
Baard

Baard,
Here's a straight forward, easliy recognisable approach based on a monitor/screen as it is central to all computer use/software.
Let me know your thoughts.

Hello,
Thank you all. We are impressed by all your suggestions. This has been an very interesting process and your suggestions have by far exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, we can only have one logo for our company so we had to make a decision and we belive the logo made by Vertlime, version 08 is the one closest to what we want. We therefore want to continue this process with Vertlime.
We will be back later for some product logos as well. I hope you will take the time to submit your sugestions when the time comes, even if we didn't choose your design this time.
Once again, THANK YOU ALL!
Best regards
Baard
