<p><strong>Project Summary:</strong><br>
<br>
A logo is needed for the header of a new website Credit-Cards-Resource.com.<br>
<br>
<strong>What text should be included in the main part of the logo?</strong><br>
The site name is: Credit-Cards-Resource.com (with a small TM to the right of the .com)<br>
The tagline is: Find, Compare, Review & Apply<br>
The logo size should be: 330 * 80<br>
<br>
<strong>What type of product or service do you offer?</strong><br>
The website will be the ultimate resource for finding and comparing credit cards including rewards cards, low-interest cards, etc. The site will have resources including credit card reviews, articles on how to choose the right card, and credit card news.<br>
<br>
<strong>How long have you been in business?</strong><br>
Three years.<br>
<br>
<strong>What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?</strong><br>
The site’s goal is to position itself as a complete resource for credit cards. The logo should instill confidence in the visitors that they have reached a complete site with trustworthy information. <br>
<br>
<strong>What are your long term goals?</strong><br>
The site will include hundreds of different credit card offers to compare, review, and apply.<br>
<br>
<strong>Audience Profile:</strong><br>
16-60 year olds. Half women half men. Looking to conduct in-depth credit card research before choosing a card.<br>
<br>
<strong>Perception/Tone/Guidelines:</strong><br>
The logo should be clean, clear, and functional.<br>
<br>
<strong>Color selection:</strong><br>
There are no particular colors in mind, but some ideas include blues, greens, and red.<br>
<br>
<strong>Incorporated Graphics or Themes:</strong><br>
Some ideas include incorporating a credit card graphic into the logo, but the project is open to all creative suggestions.<br>
<br>
<strong>Communication Strategy:</strong><br>
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?<br>
The site is a serious, trustworthy, and complete resource for finding credit cards.<br>
<br>
<strong>Tagline/Slogan:</strong><br>
Credit-Cards-Resource.com: Find, Compare, Review & Apply<br>
<br>
<strong>Overall Message:</strong><br>
The site is a serious, trustworthy, and complete resource for finding credit cards.<br>
<br>
<strong>Logo Usage:</strong><br>
The logo is primarily for the header of the website.<br>
<br>
<strong>Competitive Positioning:</strong><br>
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?<br>
CreditCardMenu.com (too bland), Credit-Land.com (we think this logo is too cartoony)<br>
<br>
<strong>Competitors’ URLs:</strong><br>
<a href="http://www.creditcards.com/">www.creditcards.com</a>, <a href="http://www.creditcardmenu.com/">www.creditcardmenu.com</a>, <a href="http://www.credit-land.com/">www.credit-land.com</a> <br>
<br>
What sets you apart from your competitors?<br>
The site will have more credit cards, and a complete guide and reviews sections full of articles and resources for choosing the right card.</p>

Here's one to start with.

Here's an idea - it's about checking (the check mark) and rating (the star).
Please let me know your opinion.
Thank you.

Thanks for all of the posts. We're interested in revisions to #4 and #10 but would also like to see some new posts with more ideas on our concept.
Some general notes for our logos:
1) The site name and tagline should be the same size or bigger than our logo.
2) The font should be easy to read, sans-sarif, bold and similar to Helvetica or Arial.
3) The tagline should be in title case, not all caps.
4) The TM should be small and only a few pixels from the top-right corner of the title.
We like #4 because it exemplifies our site better than the rest. The checkmark and stars really get across the idea that we are comparing and rating credit cards. Perhaps removing the mag strip and trying some new ideas with the stars would help it out. We had the idea that maybe using 5 stars instead of one would look good. There is something unusual about the checkmark, maybe it's the shape or the colors, but we'd like to see some different options for that as well. We'd also like to see the logo with different colors both with and without the gradient.
Also on the text, the letters are too narrow and the stroke is too thin. There is a little too much tracking, as well.
On #10, we really like the credit card in the background and think that it is definitely something we could work with. However, the people on the logo don't really seem to get across our image. We like the colors as well, but perhaps a few more options would be nice. Also, refer to the general notes we posted earlier about the text. Right now, it's lacking a lot but is easy to fix and we hope to see a revision or two.
Thanks again for everyone who has posted thus far and we hope to see some more ideas from everyone!
Here are some variations.
Let me know your opinion.
Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. Using the same card layout, a checkmark is integrated to the electronic band with several color alternatives.

Note: We will be extending the deadline until March 9.
Thank you all for the quick response. If anyone has any new ideas, we're open to looking at new ideas. We are getting closer on many of the designs. Here are our comments:
#16 by Ruairi:
- The design is clean and has many of the elements we are looking for
- Checkmark is good, denotes "approval" and "action" (like applying)
- Try the check mark a bit thinner
- We would like to see the stars the same size to better represent the rating system and more in a line
- The credit card does not look like a credit card anymore. Please look at adding elements to make it look like the front of a credit card. Some ideas include: rounded corners, images that looks like a word or numbers
- Add a tm to the right of the .com (closer to the .com than your first version)
- On B&W, stars would need full outline
- Tagline in different color
#18 by gig:
- The motion trail and the rating stars on the logo work well
- We'd like to see the text placed to the right of the logo with the tagline underneath
- Try centering the stars
- Make the .com the same size as the rest of the name and the TM in the right corner next to the .com
- Try the logo with a single card instead of two. We think that will simplify the design to meet our desired look.
- We would like to see a way to show the front of the credit card not the back with the magnetic strip
#20 by ezjay:
- Colors are good
- The stars add an element of action. Perhaps you could integrate another rating system element, like a checkmark, into the design.
- We'd like to see the stars cleaned up a bit and not touching each other to keep the elements separate and clean.
- Please make them more like stars and also try a few less stars, perhaps five in each row.
- Make .com font match the site name
- Move TM off to the right and more legible

Comment sent thru PM:
We like your overall design and approach and we are ready to move forward with you on this project. However we have a number of comments and things we would like to try. We will provide quick turn-around on each but I think it will take a few more iterations to get it right. Our thought is to work on the Card element first, then the stars/arrow, and then the colors.
Some of the comments include:
Credit Card:
- I think the shape, angle, numbers, and images on the right are good.
- Let's try to get rid of the orange box on the left, simplify the background grey design or get rid of it, add name and dates (something like this: http://www.usa.visa.com/personal/cards/credit/reward_cards.html?it=l2|/personal/cards/credit/smart_visa%2Ehtml|Reward%20Cards )
After the card part is done we can look at the stars, circle, and checkmark
- It may be best with only one or none of these elements
- We prefer the longer first check mark from Version 01
After that we can look at the font and colors. I am not sure what if anything we want to do on this but we may want to try a few different options.
Hi! Sorry for the delay. I'll be posting the changes you requested today. Thanks!:)

We are almost there. Here are our comments:
Credit Card image:
- please move the check mark lower on the card so just a small portion of the tip is off at the top. I am picturing the bottom tip to be even with the top of the name. I am not sure that works, but that is what I am picturing.
- Move the date to the right so it is under the opening between the second and third set of numbers
- move the card a little closer to the text to the right (I think about 1-2 pixels)
Text:
- The goal is for the text and the card to close to the same height. Either make the card a bit smaller in proportion to the text and or also make the text a little higher
Tagline
- move it to the right 1-2 pixels
- Stretch the tagline so it is longer and easier to read. Perhaps a bit of kerning

We are almost there. I am hopeful that these are our final comments.
Credit Card image:
- please move the check mark lower on the card so just a small portion of the tip is off at the top. I am picturing the bottom tip to be even with the top of the name. I am not sure that works, but that is what I am picturing. (I meant to say the name on the card not the name of the site
- add some color to the white box on the bottom right
- can the stars be made slightly larger --the smallest 3 just look like dots
Text:
- I think it is a bit big now. Can you reduce it slightly
- Can you make the letters slightly closer to each other for the site name and the tagline (i.e. tighter kerning)
Tagline
- Let's try right justifying it
- Make this font a bit smaller
Also, looking at the current comp, the space we have for the logo plus site name is 450 pixels wide. The current design of the logo is about 520-530 pixels wide. Can you make it 450 pixels wide.

Thank you for the most recent changes. Most of them are great. We are still
having a communication problem on the location of the check mark.
I will try to explain the problem we are having and our suggested solution.
I think the left side of the checkmark and the background image line need to
be separated. We have two possible ideas for how to accomplish this:
1) Our comment on Version 04 was: "please move the check mark lower on the
card so just a small portion of the tip is off at the top. I am picturing
the bottom tip to be even with the top of the name (of the cardholder). I am
not sure that works, but that is what I am picturing."
Or
2) Move the line that divides light blue from dark blue on the card so that
the line doesn't line up with the edge of the checkmark. We are thinking
that if it shifts left then it will not clash with the checkmark.
Also, for the tagline:
We prefer the tagline justified to the right as in Version 8A. Please make
it take up more space, starting at the beginning of the "d" in Cards and
ending at the "m" of .com . It may need to have looser kerning (slightly
more space between letters), and/or slightly larger font size.
