Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Land design Associates, Inc.

What type of product or service do you offer?Landscape Design & Installation

How long have you been in business?6 years. , have been in the industry for over 30 years.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?Better name recognition. Also, I would like to attract the customer that has a preference for my design style.

What are your long term goals?
To stand out from my competition in both quality of design, job and name recognition. I want to pay careful attention to quality and detail.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?March 17th, 2006

Audience Profile:Please describe your existing audienceThe Baby Boomers, Middle to upper income, White collar jobs. I deal with maybe a higher % of women over men. Upscale trend setters????

Who would you like to add to your audience?About 80% of my work is through other companies (subcontracting). I would like to design and install a greater % of my own jobs. This would be through word of mouth, advertising, web site, yard signs, brochure, and door hangers.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?I want someone with an eye for design. Words that come to mind: Fashion forward but timeless, clean lines, void of heavy detail, unique, stylish, simple, organic, warm contemporary, and functional.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (If so, why?)Color- a warm, relaxed color palette with maybe a cooler color added. I would like a color and black and white version if possible.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? If there is a graphic that is used, I would like it to be able to stand alone, the same with the text. Below are two company examples that I like.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? To present a polished image of my business.
I would like the customer experience to equal his or her expectation.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?I would like my Logo to reflect who I am as a designer. A fashionable look but timeless. I would like to update my business to look current.

Where will your new logo be used?
Business Cards, letterheads, stationary, web site, yard signs, brochures, and door hangers. Also clothing Jackets, vests, shirts, T-shirts.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?I feel that being a Landscape designer, I need to set an image of creativity, otherwise why would they hire me. Most of my competitors don’t have an image of creativity.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Being able to listen to their dreams and needs. Then designing functionally & creatively to fulfill this

Thank you ahead of time for your creativity. This is the first time I have used a freelance web site. Let the creative juices flow.

Thanks for your ideas.
Fabian: I like the colors and basic look. It still is not there but on the right track.

Thinkkre8tiv: Just not it. Text to heavy & blocky. To dark of colors. Needs flair.

It doesn't have to be but I would consider fonts like the ones attached below. Play around with it .
Thanks Con

Thanks again everyone

Some comments
The order of style that catches my eye:
Gig version 1: I like the cleanness, and simplicity of the logo.
Fabian version1: Again, simple and clean. To me the scale seems off with the leaf.

The rest of the logos get too busy & complicated, too much going on.

If possible, could someone try maybe a pine needle branch, wild flower concept and keep the graphic abstract.

Also, could someone design more of a font-based logo more like my attachment "design & bloom. jpg."? Maybe use the letters L D in the logo or do something graphically with the L at the being off Land design.

Again words that come to mind: Fashion forward but timeless, clean lines, void of heavy detail, unique, stylish, simple, organic, warm contemporary, and functional.
Some great stuff. Keep it coming.

A leaf with a pencil head on the other. Intergrating land and design in one memorable icon.

I am sorry, most have too much going on. Keep it simple, clean, contemporary . More of a logo that would be designed for a Interior design studio or Photoshop not a lawn cutting service.
The best of the bunch: Gig#1, Fabian#1, Medigraph #2 (like the font not the graphic).
I hope this helps.
Thanks

I still would like to say that I am looking for a clean modern design with an identity that was simple and elegant with a touch of earthyness. I want an icon and font with a sophisticated feel. The only logo that comes even close is gig's version 1 and Fabian's version1. MOST[I] have way to much going on. I would like to avoid the conventional green.
Keep them coming. I will know it when I see it.
Thanks

Gig: Could you change version 1 & 2 so the leaf would be PMS 578 and the Font 5635.

Coffeehouse : could you change the version 6 so the graphic would try : PMS 5645, PMS 5635, PMS 556, PMS 5555, PMS 557, PMS 134,PMS 45, PMS134. make the center dot PMS 233. Sorry about all the combo's.

Do you mean a combination of two of the colors from the first list and a center dot of 233?

Con
03-14-2006, 04:30 PM
Coffeehouse: Sorry, no just the graphic square at 45 degrees. If you could try the PMS colors on the square graphic and the pink square dot on all would be the same. Sorry again for all the work. What I am trying to get is a warm color with a cool highlight sq. dot.
Thanks for all your work.

To all that worked on my logo project I would like to give a big thank you for all of the great design work and time everyone put in. I would highly recommend the designers @ Design Outpost. Keep up the great work.
Now for the logo I picked. I liked three designs very much and after showing the entries to many people I went with Gig's version 1c.
It had the look I was looking for.

Thanks again to all
