I want to thank everyone who participated, as your hard work, imagination, and talent, is evident (each and every one of you) in every idea you submitted. I can't possibly express how badly I feel whenever I have to make a decision like this one because of the hard work (and multiple revisions, and ideas) that most of you put in.
What I would like to do now is narrow down to the last ideas that we are considering (finalists, if you will), in order of message number.
Also, I would like to try one simple thing with each of you (or at least those of you, finalists with who's design this would even be possible). We are going to be selling candles in our store. How about possibly making one of the letters look a bit like a candle? Not sure, but, maybe the "f" in perfume or the "t" in "the"????? Not sure...just a thought.
62-Aaron-We would like a nice, elegant font, but not one that is too thin to work on a channel letter sign. Also not sure about the half color of the second "o" in room. Can you give us a couple of options here?
64-Vertlime-We would like you to make the bottle less "vase" like. In other words, make it shorter with a shorter neck and possibly a little sprayer.
127-Gig-We like your ideas but there is something about this that isn't quite right and I can't put my finger on it. It doesn't really say "classy" or "elegant" the way we want it to. Is there anything you see, that can be done? I'm not sure, and I'm sorry that I can't give you better direction.
128-Pracus-Not sure if maybe some color variations and options?
135-Skyvee (or possibly the variation with the circle). Maybe some color options?
138-Castell-Again, I've requested this a couple of times but I can't really seem to get a response from you. Is there a nicy, elegant font, like the one you used, that might be SLIGHTLY more readable?
141-Ratbaggy-This intrigues me, but, is it slightly TOOOOO classy and elegant, to the point of being stuffy? We like this, but, we aren't quite sure. Can you give us some options here for colors, fonts, and maybe slight variations of the graphic?
153,232,233,239 (variations, etc)-Ratbaggy-We really like your ideas to be honest. Is there any way that we could see 239 modified slightly? You have the right idea but, instead of looking at it from directly in front of it, maybe off to the side? In other words, possibly rotating the graphic on it's axis slightly, in either direction?
167-Bart-We like the simple elegance of this, but, we arent crazy about the colors and aren't sure if something is missing, or if this is "quite right."
176-Paula-Thanks for the color variations. I would like to see how this looks without the graphic in the middle, but rather, maybe smaller, off to the left, or on the top.
222-Adrian-This is the closest you ahve come but, it still looks too much like a diamond engagement ring and too little like a perfume bottle. Anything you can do?
256-Gig-The "M" in perfume is tough to read and looks like a "V" because the two outer legs blend in with the letters beside them. Anything that can be done? Also, the word "the" does NOT have to be so big. Maybe you can shrink it, and remove the vertical line?
Once again, thanks to all of you who participated. If you feel the need to enter a new idea, I encourage you to do so. The winner hasn't yet been selected and, until it is, the contest is open.

Hello,
I will see what I can come up with today. It is after midnight on my GMT, so expect my revisions in about 15-20 hours.
Apart from, this can you elaborate a little bit on the modifications you would like to see. Since, I can modify the existing font to match you criterion. Is there some particular letter that you will like me to change with a more readable one. Or is it a whole word in different font? Is it the slant of the typography? Would require any additional elements to the design (e.g. a symbol)? These are just a few from the top of my head.
Thank You!
Best Regards,
Castell

No, I'm looking for a similar, elegant font that you used for the word "Perfume" but possibly one that a bit easier to read.

Gig, there was another idea of yours that was up there also that we requested revisions on. Not sure if you missed that one.
I didn't miss that one. It's only not ready for the best revision of that (127). If you say that it's not classy, I think you're right that any bottle graphic in this case logo make less classy, so I prefer bottleless

Hello,
I haven't forgotten about you. But the options for a script/cursive fonts are very extensive and I have to browse a multitude of typographic fondries and select the best option for you. Font selection is not as easy as it seems. :) Plus since I am purchasing these fonts, I also have to check if it would be a good investment. I will most certainly execute a few variation for you in different fonts that I owe, but since I want the best for you, I am making sure that there isn't anything better that might accidentally elude my reach.
Thank You,
Castell

Ratbaggy. One more request (other than the font options here). One more thing and we are done. I like how in number 289 you moved the point of view up as requested. Can you move it up even further, if you don't mind? Just wanna see how it looks.

we can try fonts like scents in a perfume store - but that could take some time. :) any particular direction you'd like to head? i.e. more casual, modern, cursive
oh and...
PerfumeHut
03-19-2006, 03:56 PM
I didn't really have any font ideas. When you say "fonts like scents" what do you mean?
Ratbaggy
03-19-2006, 03:58 PM
hmm sorry, why "wit" diluted (no pun intended) what I was trying to say.
revised - we can try font variations till the cows come home. do you have any specific direction you'd prefer over the previous?
PerfumeHut
03-19-2006, 04:17 PM
No, I really didn't. It's not a big deal if it's too much trouble. What I love about that design is the outright elegance. My initial problem though was whether or not maybe it was TOOOOOO elegant??? Know what I mean? That's all I meant.
Either way, it's not a big deal. We can work further if selected the winner.

I know I've said this before, but, I want to thank everyone for all their tireless work, and their brilliant submissions. I wish I could pick ten winners and use you all, but, alas, the time has come.
We are going to award this contest to Ratbaggy. Ratbaggy, for purposes of simplicity, if you could please post every "PR" graphic that you have submitted in ONE post, that would really make things easier for us, rather than us having to go back to about a million different posts to look for them.
In addition, if you could post some new options for that maybe, that would be great. Maybe something like inverting the P and the R. In other words, putting the R on the left and the P on the right, which is exactl opposite of your last submissions? Also maybe making the P part a slightly different shade than the R part?
What we are trying to do is find the best alternative here.

Project has not yet been completed. Designer and I are trying to finish up the business card design, as was stated in our contest description. Designer has completed logo and submitted files but not yet business cards. We are trying to get that done, hopefully tonight, however, project is not yet closed.
