[ProjectComplete]Due March 2nd: Wedding Photographer Logo - $150
Admin code added by Abby - 4SK430954F029962R

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Studio E

What type of product or service do you offer?
Wedding and portrait photography

How long have you been in business?
Officially, a little over a year, although I did this for quite some time as a hobbyist.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I'd like to establish more of a feeling of professionalism which will coincide with the opening of a physical location.

What are your long term goals?
To retire from teaching early and work only as a photographer

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
March 2nd

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Engaged couples/brides & grooms/high school seniors

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Families and children

What type of logo would you like?
Something clean, simple, and fun

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Not really, although I like batik, tie dye, the color red, and the blue and brown combination that's so popular these days.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Not really

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professionalism and innovation

What is your tagline or slogan?
I don't use one anymore.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
I'm trying to show people that I'm not a stuffy old studio owner nor am I just another no talent weekend warrior. That seems to be the two extremes in this area, for the most part.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, business cards, letter head, brochures, sign in front of building. I'm establishing a brand and will use the logo consistently.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
The local guys don't even have websites or logos. There are a few people within a 50 mile radius who are more reflective of what I offer.

List competitive URLs if possible

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Although I follow the same business model, I have my own distinctive style.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: Innovation is the key.

This is the link to my current website which is being upgraded to a Flash Palette site.

And here are some threads with logos I liked:

Is anyone working on anything, or do you need more information?

Those are nice, guys. I was looking for something with a script font, if possible.

Studio E 02-26-2008 06:19 AM

I think these are nice. I just purchased a turn of the century building to use as a studio and think something like this would be nice. They're simple but elegant.

That's very close to what I have in mind, Tini! If you could show me some variations on the graphic surrounding the "e" that would be great.

Also if you could try some variations with the blue using Pantone 231, 237, 324, & 325, I would appreciate it.

revision 1...:)

Studio E 02-26-2008 12:29 PM

I really, really like these! Could I see The e in the box capitalized? Thanks!

uppercase E...:)

Studio E 02-26-2008 01:28 PM

I think we have a winner! I love this last one.

tini1 02-26-2008 01:31 PM

great:) would you like to see some color variations???:)

Studio E 02-26-2008 03:52 PM

I'd like that, Tini. I like to see the brown combined with other colors, like the blue green I mentioned earlier.

Studio E 02-26-2008 03:56 PM

I just consulted with some fellow wedding photogs, and they said it might look better if the word "photography" were a little darker or more bold. Some other colors that complement the brown would be nice to see, too.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed. :)

Studio E 02-26-2008 07:21 PM

My colleagues also suggested that the E should be tweaked a bit so there is no more than two fonts in the logo. I kind of like what we have so far, but would be interested in seeing a variation.

Keep up the good work!

tini1 02-27-2008 05:19 AM

1 Attachment(s) are some color variations...the 'E' isn't a font, I drew it, in the variations, A shows the original drawn E and b,c,d shown the font used in studio (the two font rule can be broken;))
let me know if you'd like to see anything else:)thanks, tini

Studio E 02-27-2008 08:38 AM

Could I see the C/D examples in some other colors? My outdoor sign needs to match the building trim, and I think Pantone 209 and 216 would be close to it. I'd also like to see the colors 3265, 212, and 219, if possible.

I like these a lot. Could I see A with the word "photography" in black? It dawned on me that my sign might be easier to read with that color combination.

I was also instructed to ask for "colour corrected" versions of these last four and to ask you to refine the curves on the E. I really like what you've done with these and feel that we're very close to what I had envisioned.

Studio E 02-27-2008 03:03 PM

We posted about the same time, so I missed that last post. I really like this version.

tini1 02-27-2008 03:20 PM

I don't understand color corrected versions?(the colors are pantone specified, so there is no doubt on the actual printed color) ...
I'll try to refine the E, but it is a font(the same one used ind studio) so its meant to look alittle free, loose...:)

Studio E 02-27-2008 03:24 PM

I'm not sure what he meant, but he and another photog said that there is some sort of difference, and showed me an example. It's posted in a private forum, otherwise I'd link you. I'm a bit clueless in these matters. As I said, I like what you've done and I think with a little refining on the E, we'll seal the deal. Thank you so much for all your hard work. :)

tini1 02-27-2008 03:29 PM

I'll have some revisions for you tomorrow:)

Studio E 02-27-2008 07:50 PM

Thanks, Tini! You've been great. :)
