Mini emergency

I have to set up a working example of how Macromedia contribute works for a potential client, and I have to get it set up within the next hour.

However I dont have a content page to point the client and mac cont too.

So I am asking a favour, does anyone have an HTML page, maybe from an old project or from something they didnt win. Something I can upload to my server and point my client too.

It doesnt have to be anything special, just something with pics, and stuff that the client can play around with.

If anyone has anything can they let me ASAP.

Also if I win the contract (and I have won 2 out of 3 so far) there will be $50 in it for the first person to help me out. And you will know if I win coz I will post the competition here

Its for a holiday home so you know

I'm a little confused as to what exactly you're looking for.
Is it just 1 single coded html page with content on it?
If so, you want the page, plus all the images, etc so you can upload it to your server? Could it be kept on our server?

Yeah when you put it like that it sounds like im asking for a lot more.

Basically I dont have a graphics package on this machine, so I cant know something together and im sure some of you have some old designs lieing around.

Yes 1 html page with some content, so the prospective client can use macromedia contribute to alter the page and test out how contribute works.

I dont care what the page looks like and how bad it is, just a simple design it doesnt have to be something special, I am trying to sell them a site and contribute to manage it, instead of a full blown CMS.

Yes you can keep the page on your server, but you would have to allow FTP access to the site for my client so he can change the site using contribute!!

Just to let you guys know I didnt win the contract!!

Apparently there were 10 proposals, and it was between me and someone else, he picked someone else coz he had holiday homes in his portfolio (and I dont). The fact all his sites looked the same, and used a basic template didnt seem to bother the client.

So I am a bit annoyed!

There is only one of me 2square, if I could clear my desk of the work in progress then I could post more contests.. but we are swamped right now.. I've made a decision not to take on new clients and then we reassess thing in the new year..

I have a couple of new new contests to post, and I have my site to be done as well (THAT will be a challenge.. lol).

Bear in mind that if you're american design-market I don't think you're allowed to discuss prices with other designers... (but that may be just with other american designers, not sure really).

where are you getting that sort of idea from chris? who, what or where says anyone cannot discuss prices... which I wouldn't and didn't

Curious - where that idea is coming from? I am in the AU & Hot is in the UK.. but why would that make it different from whatever rule you are saying?

Something someone told me a while ago. I think it has to do with American price-fixing laws, but I'm not entirely sure on the details....

Although I'm from the UK, I must say that I've never been aware of this kind of rule. Prices have been discussed between many designers not only on this site, but on many other graphic design forums too. Anyone else got any further info? I'm intrigued!!

It's illegal in both Canada and America. It's when two companies correspond about prices of service and merchandise. It can be used to simultaneously drive up the cost of goods, thereby making the consumer pay more.

AFAIK, it's also not allowed in Australia. I can't imagine it eing different in the UK.

Theres a difference between price fixing, and collusion to drive up prices to articifially inflated prices.

however there is nothing stopping design market, telling me that she usually charges 200-300 Dollars for a typical accomodation site.

I am then free to undercharge what she charges, charge the same or overcarge the people.

If she charges 200-300 but tells me to charge 500 and give her a cut for all the business she sends me, then that would be illegal.

however she is allowed to inform me of the current price range of sites of that type in her country and I am free to charge what I like!!

Besides if no one said anything we could have been millionaires by now and gotten away with it
