[Project Complete] - Illustration for a photo book cover - $150

(Admin code added by Palmer - 00P503556D040864R)

<meta http-equiv="CONTENT-TYPE" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><title></title><meta name="GENERATOR" content="OpenOffice.org 2.3 (Linux)"> <style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { size: 21cm 29.7cm; margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } --> </style> Hello designers and illustrators,

okay, now it is time to let my pants down

I am going to propose to my girl-friend (Sabrina) and therefore I need some kind of illustration for a photo book. This photo book contains the last four years of our history.

So far, I need an illustration of two „buttons holding hands“. I think every pair has its own terms of endearment, and so well.... I mean buttons from clothes, which can be sewed with a needle and thread. Just to avoid misunderstandings in terms of the understanding of buttons.

It would be great, if you could let the buttons look like me and my girl-friend, e.g. taking some characteristic features of us like the hairdress of my girl-friend or any other expressive feature . For instance, I am very tall (1,98m). Be creative! If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask me.

Therefore, you find 4 pics in this mail.

I know that this is not the easiest job within this forum and the budget is restricted, but I need all of my money for the RING

Best regards and I am looking forward to your suggestions.

Michael

I was wondering if you knew the size of the photobook. It will help in determining the amount of detail to put into the Illustration.

Face features

Dear Gord,

thank you very much for the first proposal. To answer your question: I am planning to use the following provider: http://www.myphotobook.de/Fotobuch-B...40x30cm-Format
They offer premium photobooks with the size: 40cmx30cm.
Thus, there is enough room for details

In my opinion, your proposal is heading in the right direction. I love it

Nevertheless, the face section is very empty. I know that a button has to have buttonholes, but maybe you could use two buttonholes only for the eyes and create some kind of characteristic face.

For instance, Sabrina has beautiful teeth and one characteristic feature on her frontal incisors. There is one white spots on each tooth due to florid pills her mother gave her when she was a child. I have a big nose and small mouth. Just to give you some suggestions.

Best regards
Michael

PS: Oh my god, I noticed on the illustration that I suffer from hair loss. Thank you, Gord! Just kidding Keep on the good work.

Feedback

Dear Mediagord,

sorry for my late response but I was not informed via email that there is an update.

Good work!

Nevertheless, the world would be not the world it is without feedback:
I like my button face. I think you hit home
However, the face of my girl-friend looks like a combination of Michael Jackson and the Joker from Batman A little bit scary! Maybe, you could make the mouth smoother and smaller and give the face a little, sweet nose. You could also take the eyes of my face, make them smaller and copy them to my girl-friend's face.

But good work. I think creating faces in illustrations is the hardest think ever.

Regards Michael

@Titania: I can hardly wait.

Hi !!
I took some twists in Mike-Sabrina buttons...I made you looking each other faces with love spirit, and instead of hands I changed by a two ribbons with your names and join in the middle with a heart making reference to your marriage proposal.
Let me know what you think!
Veronica

@Mediagord: Great improvement in terms of the face. Only the eyelashes are missing in the face of my girl-friend. I think it is a great result, however, if I compare it with your first version, I almost tend to prefering the very first version because it is the most botton-like one. Hard decision. I am sorry for my confusion.
Maybe you have other ideas similiar to your first version with the button-holes.

@Veronica: I love your suggestion as well since it is a completely different style. But could you make the hair of my girl-friend less flat. I think she always has this characteristic frontal bump due to her blowing-dry hair-sessions (I am sorry for my English) as you can see on the picture taken at the beach.
And could you add hands? I would really love that because it looks less seperated. You could model them as simple little circles.

I thank both of you very much for the great work you are doing

Regards
Michael

Hey guys,

I am in awe. Muchas gracias por todos

@minimi: Great improvement in terms of the hair. I like your vesion since it looks very bright like real buttons.

@Titania: Great new style. It is very funny due to the long arms focussing on the important thinks like hugging
You modeled my girl friend's hair in the best manner.

@Mediagord: Cool last version but you already contributed two awesome proposals: #4 an #13

Now it is time to step into the ring with my heart and collect the bids

Thank you very much. I will give you feedback tomorrow.

Best regards
Michael

The winner is...

Hello designers,

thank you very much for participating in this thread.

The last 24hours have been very hard for me due to the decision I had to make but finally I came to the conclusion that Mediagord made it.

It is funny but your first proposal is the winner. It is the most button-like version. Therefore, could you please send me this version and the version from post #13 (with the faces). I would like to use both of them in the photo book if this is okay for you.

Titania and Veronica: Thank you very much. I liked your versions as well. It was a tough decision.

All of you did great work. I had a great time

Best regards
Michael

PS: @MediaGord: Could you please create an invoice for me. I will send you all data you need for this.

I can make an invoice although usually that is done through Design Outpost I thought. Would you like the characters set up for print with the measurements you provided? Or just sent larger enough for that size?

Let me know thanks.

Dear Mediagord,

last time I asked for an invoice contacting designoutpost and Palmer told me that this is done by the designers.

Just send them larger enough. I will be able to change the size in illustrator or photoshop.

Will you provide a download link?

Best regards
Michael
