[Project Complete] - Logo needed for a wedding and food photography business-$150

(Admin code added by Palmer - 3L179494EK388651G)

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

white sage photography (would prefer the white sage in lower case)

What type of product or service do you offer?

We specialize in weddings and food styling/photography, however we do not want to limit ourselves, will also consider commercial, portrait work, etc.

How long have you been in business?

For over 5 yrs, creating a new partnership with a new name/branding

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?

We would like to have unique and recognizable branding that appeals to our target market

What are your long term goals?

To build a client base and run our business

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?

April 28th, 2011

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

Females in their 20's early 30's (potential brides) and restaurant owners and small business owners that deal with food/beverages

Who would you like to add to your audience?

Same as above...

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?

simple, clean, commercial-like, yet relaxed, maybe with a bit of whimsical, simple graphic element

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)

black with maybe a splash of a sage green color in the design element?

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

We have sketched out a very rough version of what we have in mind for the design element, please excuse the quality of the finger sketching on the iphone.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?

Professional, yet playful

Where will your new logo be used?

Website, blog, facebook, biz cards

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?

They are lacking a professionally designed logo

What sets you apart from your competitors?

Nobody else is doing this combination of specializing (wedding + food styling/photography)

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

[b]Ellie and Shawn, a pair of creatives who, through photography, express their passion for all things food and love. Collectively, they have 20 years professional photography experience. They love working together, so they work well as a team. They inspire each other, in life and in their photography, and it shows in their team approach and their work.

Feedback...

Thank you guys...these are great!

xpressions, version 1 is our favorite, we aren't in love with the font though...we like glyphica's version 1 font, but it's still not exactly it. We've been looking at fonts and aren't having a lot of luck.

Definitely love the more hand-drawn sage leaf...maybe a bit smaller, and as far as the color, a bit softer, but we can deal with that in the final revision, right?

Glyphica, we like version 1 the best, again, we like the hand-drawn sage leaf better and the fonts are not it. I'll look around for better direction.

So...love the hand-drawn leaf, smaller...love the PHOTOGRAPHY in caps, would like to see a couple of different font ideas (something between both of your #1 versions?) and maybe even script, unless you think that's all wrong from a design standpoint?

Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback. Here are a couple of different typefaces and color changes. Will provide a script option shortly:

Xpressions...alrighty...we've decided that we like version 5 font the best, wish the 'a' was just like the one I just typed, but we don't love the others.

Also, could we see the 2nd font in version 7 a bit taller? We love the script and the regular...going to be a tough decision!

Thank you!!!

We would like it more 'squared'...as far as the spacing between letters, as in version 1. We would also like the sage leaf switched the other way, as in version 7.1. And regarding the leaf, you have different versions as far as the shading inside, we like it a bit messy/abstract? So that it's not perfectly colored in.

Could we possibly get a psd file with layers so that we can change the leaf color as needed? And how about just a file with the leaf, as we would like to use that as our watermark on our images and business card design, etc.

Thanks!

Yes, I can provide a .psd file so you can change the colors along with just the leaf.

Less space between letters and that's it...the leaf is perfect.

A touch closer? Am I being ridiculous yet? Because I feel like I am Is it simple enough to center the stem between the g and the r in photography?

Thanks again...

No worries. You are not being ridiculous. You can adjust the kerning if you have the correct font loaded. The files we provide will have the fonts "outlined" as we do not provide fonts. Outlined basically means it becomes a graphic element versus a font or typeface.
