Kennedale Educational Foundation
www.kennedalefoundation.org
What type of product or service do you offer?
We are a non-profit 501c(3) organization that supports our local school district by raising money that is given to teachers through grants and wish-list requests. We raise funds throughout the year with a variety of methods (events, drives, single donations) and award grants twice a year based on winning applications. We give nearly $50k a year directly to the teachers and classrooms, all directly impacting the students quickly and where it is needed most.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2006
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
More professional appearance, build brand awareness and identity in our area and reach more corporate sponsors.
What are your long term goals?
Establish strong ties with major corporations for recurring donations so we can have more funds to support our teachers and students, have strong name recognition within the community as a reliable, effective and energetic partner to the schools.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
April 9th
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Parents, teachers, local businesses and community members
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Larger businesses in the surrounding area
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something professional and more current. We’d like it modern but not edgy, keep in mind we work with schools so it should be friendly and somewhat light, but NOT childish or heavy on the school. We would prefer no apples or other cutesy school clichés. More than anything it needs to look professional enough to approach major corporations and garner respect. We will be using it in a variety of products and formats, so we would love some flexibility, different ways it can appear, whether a small icon that we can remove and use alone, or a smaller version of the logo, just some way to keep consistency but lend itself to different uses. And of course we would like for this to be our LAST logo, so ideally something classic that can last a long time.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Green and Black, they are the colors for the school district we support and we would like to be closely identified with them. Green should be somewhere between Kelly and Forest, not a set color but not lime and not too dark.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No, other than not apples. Nothing too clip-art. We are okay with a graphic or also just a stylized version of our name, would love to see options both ways.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Successful, professional, responsible, involved, friendly
What is your tagline or slogan?
none
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Together we can make a difference in our local schools, one dollar, one classroom at a time!
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, T-shirt embroidery, Business Cards, Letterhead, Marketing Materials, Large Banners at events, etc
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Not really competition, but you can google “Education Foundation” for a local branch in just about every school district.
List competitive URLs if possible

http://www.dallaschamber.org/index.a...tionFoundation
http://www.gcisd-k12.org/foundation
http://www.southlakecef.org/
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We are a smaller school, so we have to work a little harder for the same prospects. Which is why we need a killer logo!
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Inspiring
