[Project Complete] Logo for Education Foundation $150

(Admin code added by Palmer - : 6L516268UU925843F)

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Kennedale Educational Foundation
www.kennedalefoundation.org

What type of product or service do you offer?
We are a non-profit 501c(3) organization that supports our local school district by raising money that is given to teachers through grants and wish-list requests. We raise funds throughout the year with a variety of methods (events, drives, single donations) and award grants twice a year based on winning applications. We give nearly $50k a year directly to the teachers and classrooms, all directly impacting the students quickly and where it is needed most.

How long have you been in business?
Since 2006

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
More professional appearance, build brand awareness and identity in our area and reach more corporate sponsors.

What are your long term goals?
Establish strong ties with major corporations for recurring donations so we can have more funds to support our teachers and students, have strong name recognition within the community as a reliable, effective and energetic partner to the schools.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
April 9th

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Parents, teachers, local businesses and community members

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Larger businesses in the surrounding area

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something professional and more current. We’d like it modern but not edgy, keep in mind we work with schools so it should be friendly and somewhat light, but NOT childish or heavy on the school. We would prefer no apples or other cutesy school clichés. More than anything it needs to look professional enough to approach major corporations and garner respect. We will be using it in a variety of products and formats, so we would love some flexibility, different ways it can appear, whether a small icon that we can remove and use alone, or a smaller version of the logo, just some way to keep consistency but lend itself to different uses. And of course we would like for this to be our LAST logo, so ideally something classic that can last a long time.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Green and Black, they are the colors for the school district we support and we would like to be closely identified with them. Green should be somewhere between Kelly and Forest, not a set color but not lime and not too dark.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No, other than not apples. Nothing too clip-art. We are okay with a graphic or also just a stylized version of our name, would love to see options both ways.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Successful, professional, responsible, involved, friendly

What is your tagline or slogan?
none

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Together we can make a difference in our local schools, one dollar, one classroom at a time!

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, T-shirt embroidery, Business Cards, Letterhead, Marketing Materials, Large Banners at events, etc

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Not really competition, but you can google “Education Foundation” for a local branch in just about every school district.

List competitive URLs if possible
http://www.arlingtonef.org/
http://www.dallaschamber.org/index.a...tionFoundation
http://www.gcisd-k12.org/foundation
http://www.southlakecef.org/

What sets you apart from your competitors?
We are a smaller school, so we have to work a little harder for the same prospects. Which is why we need a killer logo!

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Inspiring

That looks great! I like how the person kind of makes a K, and the colors are perfect. Would love to see some other ideas!

Thank you all! I think these are a great start. I would love to see something with a different concept, not a person, even though I do like the ones posted! I know our board wants a good range of options so any other ideas would be great. Also, I think we do need capital letters, either all caps or first letter. (I personally prefer lowercase but as an education-focused group I think we have to stay in perfect grammar!)

Keep them coming! Thanks!!

Thank you all! I am overwhelmed with the great ideas! I have sent this link to our board, who had very positive feedback and the following remarks:

First, posts 4, 7 and 10 are in the lead as their favorites right now. But we are still interested in different ideas if anyone has them.

Lots of comments that the graphic element should be able to stand alone on certain marketing materials and concern that some designs aren't as identifiable to our grOup. Perhaps we could see some incorporation of the K, or even KEF in a smaller version of the logos, to give us room to use the same look in different forms?

Thank you so much for all the submissions! Our board was overwhelmed with the quality (hence why it took us so long to choose one.. everyone had a favorite, with good reason!)

After the executive meeting last night, we've decided to go with the design in post #10, by Carol Taldo. I just have a few final edits we would like to see. Thank you again everyone for the designs, I can't tell you how excited we all are for the next step in our branding process now that we have a logo we are all truly thrilled about.

Re the design.. we would like to see the green a little darker, more Kelly shaded, closer to the green in the first two designs submitted. We would also like the text of Educational Foundation to be a little larger, so that it is the same spacing width-wise as the word Kennedale. And finally, if possible we would like a version of the logo with the text Kennedale Educational Foundation in a smaller font going around the outside of the circle, to be used on round stickers etc. Feel free to email me with questions, again, I appreciate all your help!

Great! If we could just change the darker green (large person) to #015b37 and the lighter green to 1ca43e we are good to go! Thank you! Just let me know what I need to do to get the files and complete this.. thanks so much!!

Hmm those look lighter and not at all what it looks like in my photoshop. Can you pull from post#8, the darkest and lightest greens that were used in that design?
