$25 simple logo contest for existing ministry in our church.

Our church offers, what we call, "community groups" throughout our community during the week. These are small groups of people (6-20) who meet in homes for building deeper freindships and learning more about God and the Bible. We are looking to create a logo to help identify with this ministry on our website and in print. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

I'm working on it, just not coming up with as much as I'd like. Hope to have something for you by tonight.

David,
I'm not sure if any of these are in the direction you want to go. I tried to use my "little guy" again in hopes to find him a home.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks for your entries.

Moz - I don't think you have a feel for the type of church we are. It's a little too churchy for us with the traditional looking Bible and cross and hands. It needs to be more corporate looking and creative.

See our web template contest to help or our website for description of our church.

Blackspot - I don't know if these are doing anything for us but thank you. It's just text and a box. Maybe letters "CG" in a logo form.

I need to see some more creativity. Thanks!

I will try and work on something more for you tonight now that I know you want "more" (wasn't real sure hence the simple designs). You didn't mention the "people cross" in the circle. Did you not notice it or just not like it?
Do you have a preference of colors or amount of colors? The more info the better. In the meantime, I will read your template contest to see if I can get a better understanding of what you are looking for.

Will look at the web site and redo. You mentioned Bible , Cross and "Hands" I don't have any hands in my design??? And the house structure was a home. Do you like that idea if I corporate it up some? PLMK

You're right, no hands - sorry - I have 5 contests going right now and am getting confused. A home would be cool but it would have to be abstract attractive.

Taldo - O.K. a little better. Thanks Taldo for moving this in a better direction. It's simple but it us totally text. I like how you did a little bit more creativity with the "RAK" ministry in my other contest. It was graphic and text but not too crazy and it was two color. If we are going to try to use the CG there needs to be some more movement and dimension. Not just block letters connected. Looks like "Garry Harvey" Air Conditioning Co., Inc. You've won with me before so I'm sure you'll come up with something swell - good to hear from you again.
David

Blackspot - no, I didn't mention the cross people because didn't like it much. Yes, two color look great. Not more, and probably not less.

I'll try to find some logos on the web that might appeal to me to help you out in understnding for what I might be looking. It helps if I know and right now it's a "know it when I see it" kind of thing.

Thanks
DB

Carol - you have an advantage - I now remember you did our NCC logo which we are using. Maybe you can tie all these in somehow. Just a thought.

Tried something with the "CG". Also gave it a bit of life and kept it 2 colors (the same colors I was using before so I hope you like them).

nothing really jump out at us yet. it doesn't need to posess to much symbolism, just a nice looking 'icon' more than a logo.

Dave,
Here's my entry. The church is represented by the circle with the houses in the community represented by the squares. I noticed on your site you use yellows for this page so if you'd like to see it in those colors let me know.

Looking forward to your comments.

Thanks.

Stephen - this look totally reminded of something and may help move this in the right direction. Community groups are part of a process in our church of what we call "moving people around the bases" uses the baseball diamond as a metaphor. so, your diamond approach is good. C-groups are encouraged at 1st based, expected at 2nd base and modeled at 3rd base (nice way of saying required). So something with this process in mind would be could, including the baseball diamond feel with the process - maybe the C in community can be a swoosh around the bases counterclockwise - for the process - ??? Let's see what these entries inspire - just let's not get too literal with pics - I like the diamonds that look like a corporate logo feel.
Thanks
Dave

um......okay.

So what would you like me to do revision wise? Are you looking for the "C" to be swooshed?

Hello David,

The information about the "baseball metaphor" helps understand how the group fuctions in addition to what they do.

Here is the latest from me:

Beth - try to read the thread to see where this thing has progressed. Steve and Moz are on to something.

Steve - allright, the concept I like but the look is buggin my eyes out. I'm going to attempt to communicate some changes -

the swoosh "C" and bases are clashing by being so connected. How about making the swoosh C stand normal like a letter with the words community groups just like they are parallel from the center of the C. rotate the diamonds/bases left to a different angle - wow, does any of that make sense (I'll try to manipulate it or draw you something to explain and post it)

Moz - the bright colors on black are hurtng my eyes to look at - along with the giant grid of squares - too busy. we need to do something with the baseball diamond look and the words. I almost like your CG letters ( a little too elongated and thin) but that's not enough to communicate "community groups" - I'm sure we need it all spelled out as well. thanks.

Steve- I tried to draw something but it was impossible - I might just have to draw it out and scan it or something - ugh. I like the baseball diamond approach but maybe just one diamond - I like the feel of what you've put up it just needs some tweeking though.
Thanks
Dave
