Due 4/2 - Business Card Design (webdesign service) - $100
(Admin code added by Palmer - 15U19211CJ4720012)
Hello folks!
I am designer, however, I was blown away by some of the work on here and therefore decided to give you guys a chance and see what you can come up with. I am looking to have someone design my business cards for me. I already have a logo and you can view my website at www.ogmda.com so you can get a better idea of my style, theme and exactly what I do.
I would like to somehow incorporate my website's style into my business cards.
You can download an .EPS version of my logo:
http://www.ogmda.com/temp/organick.eps
I am open to all ideas you may have, so lets see what ya got! Keep in mind this is a double-sided card.
I need to also have the following info on the card:
Name: Nick Medrano
Address: 7415 Lazy Trails, San Antonio, Texas 78250
phone: (210) 520-6272
email: nickm@ogmda.com
website: www.ogmda.com
services: webdesign, hosting, video, custom programming, virtual tours, print
I will have the cards printed at 48hourprint.com and they have some business card templates here in case you need them: http://www.48hourprint.com/business-card-templates.html
Any other questions feel free to ask Thanks and I look forward to the designs!

Hopefully by the end of this week. I am not too picky about the deadline. The sooner the better

Hi Fran, that looks good. Can you make the design a bit more subtle and less "organic", lol. I guess what I am saying is to make my logo more prominent. For example, it took me a while to notice my organick logo (I was focused on the huge version of the icon/emblem). It seems a bit too busy. However, I love the rustic/old document effect look you have going.

Thanks fran, two more things:
1.) Remove the "cursive" writing or whatever that blurred writing is on the background
2.) Remove my address
3.) If you have those setup as layers in photoshop, I can remove them myself
Also, I'd like to see what other people can do....anyone?

Plum, that design is incredible. I wonder, though, if it's going to be expensive or even possible to have cards printed like that. Any ideas?
Anyways, I love the layout, however, I think I want to change the picture inside that monitor to something else. I think I will need something that is more "Texan" rather than a barn. Let me research some ideas and then I'll post them here. In the meantime, feel free to think of some ideas yourself.

Hi Nick!
I'm glad you liked the design. I loved your vision as a designer and tried to replicate that vision however I think it takes a true Texan to do it. So feel free to give your preference in terms of the photos you'd like to see in the monitor.
Regarding your concern on the printing, as any other 4-color job, I think 48hourprints.com will be able to print the design. The design shown here is originally done in CMYK. However as always what we see onscreen always differs from the actual printout. I would recommend asking for physical proofs if you are very particular about the color match.
I hope I was able to help you.

Plum, don't forget the card is double-sided.
BTW, i am getting a P.O. box on MOnday, so I'll have to add that in myself, I guess. Can you add a fake PO box address for now?

Update: Plum, lets go ahead and stick with your design. Now, just add a fake P.O box and San Antonio, Texas 78250.
I guess no one else is submitting any designs? I also will look over Fran's design and do some more thinking. Very hard decisions to make!

Nick,
Okay, so does this mean I'll hold off on the desgin for the back part of the card? If ever, you might want something simple for the back (a solid color?) since the front is already very detailed. This is just a suggestion.

Hi Plum,
Something simple is fine for the back (nice solid color?).

I changed my mind for the meantime about the solid color. This is the same basic design with a few variations on the placement of the text....
Lala
P.S. Kindly ignore the white frame around the card. That's just a cover for the bleed.

Admin, I'd like to close this thread and go with PLUM's design. You can contact me at nickm@ogmda.com
is it possible to have a PSD file in layers? I do not have Adobe Illustrator, so I'm not sure how I can open that file.
Let me know. Thanks!
Good work guys!

Hi Nick, Thanks for choosing my design. I can definitely give it in PSD with the editable text. I hope you have the Venetian 301 BT font. Are we still changing the barn?

I don't have that font...maybe I can purchase it if it's not too expensive?
As far as the barn....I'd like to keep it. But, can you make it a layer in case I decide to change it later? Thanks!!

Nick,
I'll be sending you the PSD files through a private message with layers. There is a layer which contains 48hourprint.com's template hidden in each of the files in case you need it.
I've looked up the Venetial 301 font on myfonts.com and it's $49. If you have a Corel Draw 11 program, you can find that font on CD 2. Another alternative is Aldine in case you have it.
