6x9 computer book cover (front only) -$100.00

Admin code added by Abby - 0S141197LT161925Y

This project is for designing a book cover. (physical book)

BOOK TITLE= How To Stop Spam and Spyware For Windows XP Users
Author - Michael Ferrell

book size size requirements = 6" x 9"
image upload size =6.375" x 9.75"
pixel size =1913 x 2925
bleed=.375" (1 cm).
==========================================
Front cover should include title and author's name.

The cover should not be serious, nothing formal or academic looking.

It should be geared for a novice computer user that wants to learn how to protect and maintain their pc. A light read and visually, a non-threatening book.

The book cover should want my target audience to pick up the book and buy it.

Use your creativity. please do not limit your ideas!

I will make a point of answering all posts the same day so you can work efficiently.
===================================

I have attached 2 book covers that convey what Im looking for in terms of easy to read and friendlyness.

this is just a sketch . . .

but i thought i'd get your opinion on the idea before i went too much further: i'm planning on fleshing out the drawing in the style of the yahoo symbols: slick sort of 3d "cartoons."

if you'd like to see it finished up, just let me know.

Bogglins- nice way to start off.. I like the LOOK of it but I dont like the colors.

Authors name is too big and I dont like it at the top. Maybe smaller and near the bottom.

Please try another color scheme because the red/blue isnt "my cup of tea"

Carlos - so far, so good. however, I cant really tell without the color scheme.

I dont care for the mail bomb picture.

Anyone looking at the cover should have an idea of what the book is about without having to open it.

Guys, please let me know if you need more detail/guidance from me..this is my first project so thanks for being patience with me.

indeed, i was trying to think of a way to show spam and malicious software/spyware in one image--but i was worried the mail-bomb was going a bit far. i'll work on something else for you.

(i think you're doing fine, by the way.)

bogglins: I LIKE THAT!!! WoW! That is really nice. The colors, font and background all work well together. Thank You.

The hand is cool so just replace the businessman with an ordinary guy.

Change the green envelope to something else. Something more visually powerful that represents potential danger to your pc.

Fran Not much to say because I like the font, colors and I like the design. The cover is nice and simple. However, I dont like the traffic light and the @ sign.

Cursal- Submit your design as soon as possible. The project deadline is when I find something I like..and from what I am seeing it's pretty close!

Here's something a little different from me! Friendly and nonintimidating in style, yet showing the imminent threat of spyware and spam

Carlos- I really like the colors you have choosen for the book. I was thinking about yellow myself. It would definitely stand out on the book shelves. I just dont like the mailbox graphic.

Christian - I like the font and the colors used. Im not crazy about the graphic though.

Henrique - This is my favorite so far!!! I think we might have a winner. Could you just use another font. Something more along the lines that bogglins used in his last attempt.

Hello Intromaster, here are some variations. The last one was a bit more intense, since it makes the words "SPAM" and "SPYWARE" more prominent.

Please, let me know if i took the right road.

Kind Regards,

Henrique.

Keeping your message simple, this design takes a rapid departure from existing/standard 'computer user' texts - which results in an eyecatching cover, particularly in contrast to the on-shelf competition.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers,

Paul

Ratbaggy - OMG! Perfect. Simple, but effective! I really, really love this design.

I am awarding this project to Ratbaggy.

Henrique. - Great job. I was about to pick your design until I saw Ratbaggy's cover.

Actually, everyone had good designs that I liked. I want to thank everyone who participated. I cant believe how talented you guys/gals are.

I will definitely come back here to get more artwork done!

Okay Ratbaggy, what's the next step?

Thanks again everyone.

Awesome. Thanks Mike. And thanks for breaking from the "norm" regarding the cover, I'm pretty sure you'll find it will be reflected in sales.

I'll get you the files as soon as possible.

Perhaps, if you could email (rat_baggy [-at-] hotmail.com ) or PM me your preffered email address, we can get the ball rolling from there.
