(Deadline Extended-July 30) - Emergency service - $200

Admin code added by Abby - 0KK92603WF119314V (Do not delete)

We're looking for a logo.... here's a design brief:

Company name: I'm Safe
URL: imsafe.org

What is your business?
We allow people to let their friends and family know they're ok after an incident (eg London / Madrid bombs); and make this information available to people searching for friends; and word with the police and casaulty bureaus to help identify victims.

How old is your company?
Less than 1 year old

Size of your company?
5 employees, but we'd like to appear much much larger.

Your business in two words?
Communication & collaboration.

Your business in one word?
Assurance.

How did you start the company?
We work in this sector already, and seeing the need for a single point where people can share news of their safety is very important. After every incident maybe 20 websites will be made where people can thell their friends they're OK. Having one site that everyone knows about means that more information is aggregated in the same place, making it faster, easier, and more reliable to search. Additionally we realised that if we built in 'push' communications to this we would save a lot of unnecessary communications, allowing people to spend time responding and managing with an incident, that communicating the same message again and again.

If you company/brand was a person who would it be?
Martin Sheen in the West Wing: good thinking and clear communication in a crisis. Or the postman who walks 2 miles to the farmhouse to deliver their mail every day, even through snow and sleet.

If your company/brand was an object what would it be?
A security blanket. We send the best news ("I'm still alive!") to friends and family when they want to hear it most.

If your company/brand was an animal which one would it be?
A faithful dog / a St Bernard.

What do your wear to work?
shirt / jeans. We're casual, but we're bloody good.

How does the market see your company today?
They think we're a well established company with good products.

What aspect of your image needs improvement?
We need to appear as a larger company, and project a greater sense of reliability and secutiry.

How do you want your image to be seen in 2 years?
The kings of "In Case of Emergency" communications. Safe, reliable, useful, and something that everyone should be using or at the least know about.

Who are your competitors?
http://www.icecontact.com/
http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/icephone.asp

How are they better/worse than your product/service?
They're not automated.
They're not widely supported.
They have a smaller network.
They dont work with the casualty bureau.
Doesnt let people query your status
Does not integrate with 3rd party systems.

Who is your customer?
Anyone, literally.

Other
The logo should be able to work using either the words "I'm Safe" or "Staff Safe".

nhrdesign.com: thanks for this one. I think something more generic to indicate safety would be better - possibly based around people..?

Senter: looking forward to it!

Important point to note: The logo should be able to work using either the words "I'm Safe" or "Staff Safe".

Feedback

A few of these are getting quite cartoony. Remember that this is NOT a casual easy going service. This service will be used by people who have just been involved in an major disaster in which they have probably seen people die in front of them. Or alternatively relatives who fear that their sons and daughters, mothers and fathers might be dead or injured.

"I'm Safe" is optimistic for a number of these poor people. I'm in shock at what I've just seen and will have psychological trauma for a couple of years is probably more likely.

So no more smilies please

Think more first aid / emergency services. Serious. Safe. Secure. Trustworthy.

Some more inspiration

I like the guy in the blue bubble - that's the right idea.
How about something incorporating concepts from fire exit sign?

Similarly the idea of 'broadcasting a message' as is so often invoked by the radio mast / concentric circles

MUCH closer - this is looking good!

Now if we can lose the smiley and maybe replace with a person* and some sense of 'broadcast' of a message going on.

*If we replace with a person, this allows a nice variation maybe for StaffSafe (the 2nd logo requirement) to replace with a more 'group' icon
