Due Nov. 30 - Flash Banner - $200

Admin code added by Abby - 58W46810568199226

This flash banner is intended to emphasise the benefits of our web site hosting service, we will soon be launching a new web site which will utilize the new banner. As an example you may see our current web site including a similar banner:
Future Point Inc. [http://www.futurepoint.com/]

I have attached a Word document containing the specifications for the banner. Please feel free to make minor adjustments to the proposed content and design. I am not looking for anything too fancy or complicated, and I prefer a nice, simple and elegant design.

Thank you in advance to all those who participate, and I look forward to seeing what you can produce for us.

Hi Joseph

I have had a go at this project but I just can't seem to get it right and don't want to submit work that is not my best, I will keep trying and if I can get it to work the way it should I will submit it.

Sorry, I hope there are others out there who might help?

Thank you for the update, hopefully you can come up with something. It seems that there are not many Flash designers around here; or am I not offering enough? Is the project too difficult?

Thank you

Hi, I have found it quite difficult to look professional, but then I am still new to flash. I'm sure for someone with more experience of flash it would be straight forward to do.

I looked at the banner on your existing site and thought it was quite good anyway!

Thanks lisaw for giving it a shot, I do appreciate the effort.

Admins, after ten days it unfortunately seems that there is not enough interest in this project, and with that I think we may have to cancel. How should we go about cancellation and refund for this project? If anyone else is interested in this project then please do reply ASAP and we can keep it running longer.

If you can wait a little longer, I'll try and come up with something for you.
I'll get on it right away.

I have to head out the door in two seconds, but I really wanted to get this example to you before I left.

Sorry for the delay replying, I didn't receive the e-mail notice that the thread was updated. This looks like a great start, thank you. I see that we are on the right track, and I am pretty confident now that you will be able to produce what we're looking for. I think a number of things will need to be changed though:

- The colours look like they won't fit so well with the colour scheme of our new layout. You can see a screen shot of it in the previously attached word document.

- The way you display the logo while loading looks very nice, although the main logo is just above the flash banner, so it would be redundant to include the logo. Instead could we have a loading message and a hosting/server related image in the background?

- Starting from the "Plus…" frame, could we show the frames for a longer period of time? There is not enough time to read the text as it is now.

- Also I like the text effects that you're using, but could we add something more, because it seems like the same effects are used throughout... maybe even just very quickly highlighting each item on the "Plus…" page, as we did on our original banner.

Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing what you do next!

Here are the revisions. I hope I'm a bit closer to producing exactly what it is your looking for. Thanks for letting me continue this project with you.

Hi, thank you for the update, and I am sorry for taking so long. I like the improvement, and I think we're almost there, but I do have a short list of adjustments for you:

- Let's try a solid black background, and eliminate the border as well; they actually do look nice, although to match the layout of our web site which this banner will be integrated with, I think a solid black background would be best. I am also including a full size sample screenshot of the new layout to give you a better idea of how it will integrate

- Can we remove the loading countdown, and instead replace it with a slow blinking "Loading..." text (~3 seconds). Could we also try a different picture for the loading page? The Ethernet cable probably won't fit that well with the web site layout

- Last thing, for the start here arrow, the angle will need to be adjusted to point directly at the field on the web page where customers can enter their domain name. See the attached image for an example of what I mean

I hope this is not too much to ask for, and thank you very much for you help with this!

Hi Joseph,

No worries about the changes. You're the client. You say what you want to have, and I make it.

Will I also have to do a bit of moving around, since the top right corner will be covered?

I'll get right on the adjustments, and hope to have the next version for you a.s.a.p.

Actually, do you have the original image of the building you've used in the background? I have an idea for the loading screen.

I've whipped together a quick test page of how it will look.

You sure are fast! It looks much better. I do have the original photo of the building, can I e-mail it to you? Just in case I don't want to post it publicly.

Could we replace the orange text colour with a sky blue to match the layout background? I would also like to get some futuristic-technology images added in somehow; it doesn't need to be that much, but right now it looks just a little too plain.

What do you think about replacing "Be in control, Feel the speed, Don't wait, Get help fast" with "Feel the power, See the lightning, Instant gratification, Quality support"? Let's give that a try, but I would also like your opinion.

Thanks again!

I thought about aligning the building image with the rest of the site, but if you like what I've done in version #4, then I won't need you to send me the image.

I've made the background that excellent blue chip image, and tried to make it just visible so it doesn't distract from the text too much. On my screen it's barely visible, but on my wife's laptop it's a lot brighter. I've tried to make the darkness of it just so, that it looks good on all types of screen settings.

Feedback welcomed. Hope we're a little closer.

Excellent. Thank you very much to you too. I'll send you a Private Message with a link to download your Flash banner.
I think you have to write a message here to say when you've received the file.

Thank you very much, I have received the files and everything looks good. This project can now be closed. There may have only been one participant, although I am pleased with the results.

All the best!
