tradeup1031.com needs a logo - $200 award - deadline 12/22/2006

Admin code added by Abby - 6LF946395H839245X

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Trade Up 1031

What type of product or service do you offer?
1031 exchange consulting and commercial real estate research, indentification, and acquisition for high net worth private investors.

How long have you been in business?
in the business for 4 years. this is my first new company doing this on my own.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
make $$$$. seriously, I'd like to build up a brand in this niche business based on personalized customer service and reliability.

What are your long term goals?
to have my company's name on the tip of the tongue of the industry folks as a firm that's doing it right

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? 12/23/2006

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
most clients are very wealthy, own investment real estate, and are over 50 years old

Who would you like to add to your audience?
more of the same

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
professional. fun, but not too much.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo?
(if so, why?) i like navy blue, but am open to ideas

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
a graphic play on the word "trade" or "up"

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? that i help them own bigger & better than they ever dreamed of

What is your tagline or slogan? "Your source for quality triple net leased, sole owner, and tenant-in-common (TIC) replacement properties"

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? That I will help them find just what they want and it will be so much easier to own and nicer than what they had before.

Where will your new logo be used?
http://tradeup1031.com, business cards/letterhead eventually

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?

PropPoint (www.proppoint.com) - doesn't speak to me

1031 Investment Solutions (www.1031investsol.com) - i like this one, but no purple for me

Private Equity Group (www.privateequitygrp.com) - again, doesn't convey enough about what we do

1031 Exchange Alternatives (http://www.1031ea.com/)-
Probably the best logo of the bunch

What sets you apart from your competitors? i really listen to what my clients want/need and don't force-feed them propduct

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: responsive

thanks pracus. i think this is a really great first attempt. i like how you incorporated the trading up concept with increasing font sizes and also liked the windows that tie in commercial office buildings.

could you replace the red & blue with a combination of grey/silver and black text to look more city-like? also, let's see what the windows look like in yellow or a combination of white & yellow.

thanks,

josh

pracus: this one is definitely more to my tastes. can you show me a version where the individual letters are a solid color (the darker color used for the tops) and drop the outline from the text?

thanks!

offbeatdesign: i think your first concept is the best of the group. can you darken the "1031" text color? also, maybe a background color of darker shade of blue or in grey/silver?

thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Here's the first of two color variations. Please keep in mind that colors will vary by monitor.

The second variation. This one uses two shades of gray/silver for a different effect.

offbeatdesign: can you add windows into the building looking arrow in your second concept?

also, in your last post, i think the blue "trade up" text doesn't work well. how about a darker silver/grey than the "1031"?

thanks again for your efforts.

Hi Josh, all feedback must be made within the thread for all the designers to see... unfortunately, haha.

I'll get to work on the changes.

Medigraph- I like what you've done. Can you please show me darker color variation?

Other designers- I'm leaning toward a design with a logo image that is separate from the text. Text on the same line or directly underneath is preferrable.

Also, does anyone have any ideas to represent the concept of trading/exchanging?

Thanks for the feedback. Any of my designs can be separated, is there one you want me to focus on?
